Syuen,
Don't worry about the flight, mine depart and arrived on time and like yoyo mentioned, the flight back to KL even arrived 20 mins earlier.
I stay in The Vira Bali Hotel @ Kuta. It's clean and nice as it's pretty new ( only two years according to my driver). i will upload my pics by this week( hopefully by today) and share with u once it's ready.
FOllowing is my itenerary (DIY)

1st Day
After check in , visit Tanah Lot coastal temples. After that go to Jimbaran bay having sunset seafood. My driver recommended one of the seafood restaurant- Made Cafe with a reasonable price yet not crowded. I spent 175,000 Rupiah there.

2nd day – Kintamani Volcano tour
stop at Batubulan and celuk, Mas for the handicraft and museum then Ubud. Here u will find the silver, wood carving , painting and make sure u must bargain with every item u want to buy. Don't take lunch at the restaurant in Kintamani there as i heard my driver and my colleague said it is not nice at all. My driver brought me to have babi guling @ ubud which is cheap with the big portion served and tasted great! At night, i went to Anika spa resort and had two hrs spa treatment there. It is highly recommended for couple, i love the environment there.

3rd and 4th day– ( two choices , either water rafting or north bali tour which include the dolphins tour)
I decided to go for the bedugul and dolphin tour as we have water rafting activities in M'sia. After visited Bedugul, i went to Lovina Beach at the north of Bali just to see the dolphin. The hotel is very unique ( Aditya Beach Resort). On the next day after dolphin tour, we packed and my driver brought us to hot spring, buddhist temple. On the way back to Kuta, my driver used another route which we dropped by at a place where we can have a view where two lakes are adjacent to each other. That's really fantastic place!

Hope the above information will help ;)

Yoyo,
I reached home on sunday morning.. so that's y i said back on sunday.. haha ;)
U saw me ??wow.. should have say hi to me.. hehe i dunno which one is you .

Last time my friends (4 of them) went to Bali (booked through Airasia) also mentioned something like nanako - got driver!? I understand from them that they actually hired a car/van with driver for their entire trip. Is it the most convenient way of travelling around or the chauffeured service is just that cheap so you afford to get one? How much do they cost actually?

by the time i reach bali on thurs will be late evening. i'll probably start my tour on fri. got a driver too. the cost is rought abut RM140 for the whole day including, driver, petrol and vehicle. Fri i will most likely go to bedugul area + the paddy terraces and some temples. saturday, I will do the ubud thing including the babi guling and there's this crispy duck dish at at restaurant called Dirty Duck Restaurant and tanah lot. Sunday will do the Kuta, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua.

FionTsen,
100,000 Rupiah is around RM40, so total up is RM460 + RM20 ( tipping). If u r not going to the north of bali, then they will charge u RM120 instead of RM140.

Yoyo,
Ah..ur bf very observant. Notice both of us did look around @ the airport. By the way, saw ur photos for the spa treatment. Mind to tell me which spa resort that u went and how much is it?

thanks nanako. May I ask where/how do you look for this driver service? do you book it in Malaysia or when you reach there? I am quite interested to visit Bali when my next back to Malaysia, so need to find out more first. Hope you don't mind. thanks

Hi Nanako, I just viewed your photos online - they're marvellous! Congratulations on your wedding!

Nanako and others, my hb and I are considering going to Bali for our honeymoon in late October. My in laws are not so keen on us going to Bali, they say it's not safe... hopefully we can persuade them to give us their blessings when we tell them so many other couples have gone there for honeymoon recently ;)

Cheers,
Maxine

FionTsen,
The driver was recommended by April ( Singaporean). You may get this driver's details @http://www.geocities.com/baliwithsila/
You may dropped him an email and ask for the quote. On top of that, you may ask for his suggestion, use mine as reference as it covered most of the places except west Bali. When u drop him an email, please tell him u are introduced by Kelly from M'sia. I am not getting any commision but just hope that u get the best service from him like i do. But bear in mind that he is not a tour guide, so u have to ask him question if u want to know more about the history, etc on the temple, cultural, religion, etc.

Maxine,
My parents also not recommended us to go to Bali, what we did is we booked in advance and informed them later.. haha :P
Well, security there is pretty tight now. As long as u r not going at the end of the year or the places that is too crowded ( western country ppl esp) then should be fine one.

Sooo.... :D

The trip to Redang has been cancelled and my parents are tossing up some ideas about going to Phuket or Bali. I'm pushing for Bali, but my parents heard lots abt Phuket.

Any of you have any preference? Bali or Phuket?

People i know who have been to both Phuket and Bali, all vote for Bali, including my SIL. good thing about phuket is the price and the massage. My SIL's verdict:

Shopping - Bali more variety.
Massage - Phuket
Hotel - both also good i believe. We stayed at Holiday Inn Phuket and it was fantastic. my SIL stayed in some Villa in Seminyak (saw pics, dem nice)
Food - both too touristy. so-so only.
Beaches - Phuket hands down. I personally saw the pics she took. shucks... Phuket beaches and ocean are waaayyyy better....
Sightseeing - Bali
Activities - Bali
Safety - both are full of ang mohs. u get the point.

I'll give my own verdict when i go in July yeah ;)

My two cents: Have been to both Phuket and Bali, and I think Bali is much nicer :)

Qualifying statement: I'm a mellow mellow kinda person, and we stayed away from the madness of Kuta. We just holed ourselves up in Ubud, and just enjoyed the resort (Puri Wulandari) and being together gether.

Shopping was nice, but buy away from Kuta and touristy areas - in Ubud, prices are a lot lower than Kuta. Haggle, haggle and haggle!

We also got a driver and car - works out cheaper as Bali is a lot bigger than you'd expect :)

Really? Thanks gals! I'll check with Sila but perhaps stick with this deal though.
You think RM999 is a lot? This includes flight though.
Sila can take us to other places that is not covered in the trip.

The hotel is Harris Kuta, I just found out... but the spa package included is at Kupu Kupu Barong Tree Spa.

Any hotels to recommend in Ubud that's not going to cost $$$ for a family of 6?

Anyway, we booked a full board trip with our travel agent to go to bali in June. 4D3N - RM1066 pp inclusive all airfare, meals, tours etc. We'll be staying at Ramada Bintang in Kuta (I heard it's next to Hard Rock and has direct beach access). I have read mixed reviews about this hotel (big but old). Since this is our first trip to Bali, we're not quite sure about where to begin so just decided to take up on the package. For a family of 6, should be ok I guess? Maybe we'll go to a quieter place next time for our real honeymoon :P
Does anyone has any comments on Ramada Bintang?

Thanks :)

I got another driver contact for Bali, I believe he is a friends with Sila. They are part of the "Drivers with Distinction" certification wor... Sila is not available during my time in Bali so he was looking around for another driver for us. Dean is not available either, but he recommended his friend Herry anyway.
