u can email snugg for a tester ssc, seller will be able to tell u where to find it. yes, u might be able to use it with yr 3mths old, but if the neck still wobbly u'll hv to check breathing frequently. also, if u walk around outdoors a lot it will be warm,. u might want to consider pouch instead if its comfortable for u. its usually based on personal preference.
btw, for below 6mths old a mei tai might be more comfortable since u can adjust the body height. baby won't be low inside. if using ssc might need to add a towel at the bottom to raise baby higher.

littlepods ssc - no waist padding & very light shoulder padding snugg ssc - has waist padding for longer carries e.g. more than 1 hour, snugg ssc will be more comfortable since it has waist padding.
x-sling similar similar concept to pouch, make sure to measure across yr shoulder-to-hip, if the length is correct it should fit well. if not, u will find some shoulder strain. for long carries, more than 30mins it will be less comfortable compared to a ssc.
naforye try to go to the shop & try it out. it doesnt look like it has waist padding in the pix, might not be so supportive. also, the placement of the shoulder buckles will be very near baby's face, not sure whether it will rub wrongly? most babies will suck around that shoulder buckle area.

paprika, have u washed yr ring sling yet? sometimes need to wash a few times to soften the fabric. when the fabric is softer it will be easier to thread. if it was a structured carrier, some ppl put babylegs on the shoulder straps for baby to suck/drool on. for RS....not sure what u can do about it. i didn't use it very often.

paprika, it should be very easy to adjust the fabric. it sounds like your fabric is too thick or rings too small. did u spread out yr fabric like in the youtube videos? what brand/fabric is your ring sling?

its a normal problem with all my diapers. its due to the walking or movement of baby. AI2, fitted or pocket diapers will also scrunch a bit at the crotch area. as long as no leaks, usually quite ok. could also be due to the distance between thighs? my DD thighs are chubby inwards. grobaby most probably had leaks coz its only 1 soaker whereas IB has 2 soakers at 2 different snap point. BBH AI2 very narrow soaker, so less chance of scrunching up.

Happi, i guest you have started using IB for quite some times right? Do you encounter this problem all the time?

yup yunny, my IB AI2 also bunches up a bit at the crotch but doesn't affect absorbency. but its less compared to grobaby. grobaby bunching sometimes pee can overflow outside.
so far BBH AI2 doesn't hv this problem, most probably coz its narrower soaker?

i put the water in a sippy cup or drinking cup. my gal thinks its fun to practice drinking from the big cup, so she drinks more water that way. a few drops of lemon juice also helps her to gulp down the water. if its a hot day, chilled water disappears down her throat quickly too. yup, i know shouldn't give cold water often but its easier than having to fight & force her to drink.

if i were to direct latch for the remainder of breastfeeding days, i'd follow baby's schedule & no need to pump at night since there will be enough milk for daily needs. i'd try to sleep if baby sleeps thru the night coz when teething starts, u never know what will happen!!

Hi there... To those mommies who are latching on directly... I have a question. My 3mth old is starting to sleep thru the night lately... Her last feed is abt 10pm and she doesnt wake till 6 am. I'm wondering if i need to wake up pump to maintain supply or just let her latch on whenever she wants to? Daytime she feeds as normal...2 hourly. I didnt train her to sleep thru though.. She just decided to sleep longer now. But occasionally she does wake up at 3am for a snack then back zzzzzz. So i am still producing milk for night feeds la

yup, it is very hot weather now. rmb to drink plenty of fluids as it'll affect yr milk supply. switch on the fan & take a shower. if u're hot & cranky & tired, baby most probably is hot & cranky & tired too. its tough especially the first 2 mths, there are a lot of emotions & so many things to learn & handle & so much advise. but u are a mom now, u know yr baby best so pick & choose which advise works for u & yr baby the best.
i guess one of the 1st few sacrifices we make as moms are our rest! welcome to the club. ;) yr mom is sacrificing her rest looking after u post-delivery. u are sacrificing yr rest to make sure yr baby gets breastmilk.
sleep when yr baby is sleeping even if its only for 20mins, feed whenever baby calls for milk, try to provide milk before baby cries. it is always much easier to breastfeed a calm baby. if baby is shouting, u will need to try & troubleshoot what is the cause, gradually u will understand yr baby better. btw, on formula milk bb might be more prone to colic. if bb is usually crying/shouting at the same time every evening it could be colic.

1. My bb still looking for food after I bf Try BF again, most probably there was a burp. Or switch to the next breast.
2. Standby fm if she cries/shouts for too long esp during mid nite Strongly recommend direct latch since u're still early days to establish yr milk supply
3. Fm her if i m too tired to bf (midnite). Yes, u will be tired 24/7 due to BF & body adjusting post pregnancy. Its normal.
currently i able to pump abt 100 ml 3x per day, izit encouraging? Yes, but it does take time & effort to express, so perhaps better to rest & direct latch when needed
1. Is direct latch dat important? Yes, extremely important to signal yr body to conttinue building milk supply according to bb's needs
Can v just ebm n bottle feed? Coz i find bf very time consuming Yes u can, issues mentioned as above.
2. Wut shud v do if bb hiccups if water is not recomended? Hiccups will stop eventually, if bb is not troubled with it can just let it be or BF.
3. Same concern, how much milk is sufficient for bb? I started with 30ml for the 1st week, 45ml for few days n 55ml for yesterday... Direct latch, doesnt matter bb will keep drinking as needed
4 engorgement: cold or warm compress to release the 'stuck' milk? I prefer warm shower & direct latch.
5.. Repeat q: how long can ebm withstand at room temp, chiller n freezer? In M'sia, try to keep in fridge temperature. Fridge temp up to ~1 week, but taste will degrade with each day. Fresh is best. Room temp not too long due to hot weather, treat it like normal milk - goes bad quickly in hot weather. Freezer ~3 mths.
6. wut is the TSB level (jaundice parameter) for bb 2 8 admitted? Not sure. Monitor & pkenty of breastmilk will help clear it. Usually will clear on its own after 2-3 weeks if its mild jaundice.

lol....i hv heard of this before from my grandmother. anyways, why does yr mom feel the need to carry the family name, shouldn't it be yr dad who would "want" it more? since yr dad doesn't seem to mind - especially since he only had 2 daughters looks like its just yr mom's idea la. up to u whether u do as the others suggested, tell her 'no', 'see how' or just stuff the surname in somewhere in the middle of yr kid's name so that it'll sound 'normal'. ;)
mebbe might be easier to ask yr mom to adopt a boy & name him whatever she likes since it'll be her son!! ;)

i think its both u & yr husband house, if u feel u don't want to install an altar than its ok. if u do install it, both u & yr husband will need to look at it everyday or maintain it, not yr in-laws!

on lampin, u can get away with nearly anything even oil since lampin is very forgiving.
on cloth diapers especially those with fleece inner, there will be a lot of problem with pee repelling. for newbie to cloth diapering, i think it would be easier to use cloth diapers iwth natural inner e.g. cotton, bamboo since it will help minimize the initial cloth diaper pee repelling problems due to cream, soap etc.
the olive oil was only needed when on disposables. cloth diapering without oil was rash-free unless there was super-duper strong poop. only a little bit of coating to protect the skin, not too much or the skin won't be able to breathe.

yup, it is troublesome to change lampin everytime but this is the best way to avoid rashes. especially for girl babies, due to the way pee flows, rather prone for diaper rash.
for the first 2 weeks, i used disposables until the meconium cleared. while using disposables, to make it easier to clean the meconium poop & avoid diaper rash i applied extra virgin olive oil on the bum area to protect it. did not use any powder. if using disposables, try to open the bum to air whenever u can to avoid diaper rash.

alicia, for newborn the bamboolite & autumnz might not fit. u can use it as lampin cover first. newborn need to change up to 15x a day, so lampin or prefolds might be easier to handle rather than stuffing 15-30 pocket diapers a day.

yes, agree with tinkerbelle. SSC's or crotch carriers are usually recommended only for babies with head control (whatever age it might happen will depend on each baby, usually around 3 mths+).
mebbe can try a pouch or wrap or ring sling at this age using tummy-to-tummy carry position.
