  1. Hi Fluene, My baby 'always' fall asleep after latching on my breast for 10 minutes, then put him back to bed and wakes up again. I find him treated my nipple as pacifier. Moreover I dunno is the milk enough for him. So now i will just pump out about 50ml (if possible) and feed him with bottle. Do u have same problem as me when your babies latch on?
  2. Hi all, my baby has now discharged from hospital after 10th day. First time taking care of my baby at home is really making me so panic whenever i see him cry. About breastfeeding, when he cries, i will put him latch on my breast. After sucking for 10 minutes, he fall asleep. Put him back to bed then wakes up and I will let him latch on again. After a while, fall asleep. I am so afraid he has not enough milk. After an hr, he cries for hunger i guess. Then my MIL top up with formula milk to him. Actually i dun think i have enough milk supply. Coz each time i pump out only get 50ml or less for both breasts. I dun think I can 100% breastfeed, but i just wonder, is it ok to BF and feed formula milk (alternate feeding session)? My MIL also give him some water when he cries coz he seems get hungry so fast. Sometimes i just too afraid we over feed him. We are quite helpless also coz dunno how's his 'apettide' as this is only 2nd day at home.
  3. Hi islandgal, Since the jaundice level was 231, how do you deal with it? Put him for morning sun? And you dun cut down on the ginger?
  4. BunnyNwife, As my baby just recovering (weak in breathing), he needs to stay back for monitoring 1 or 2 days (told by paed). And today i visited my son, he is put under UV.... tomolo i need to speak to the paed when can discharge. We are in Pantai Bangsar.
  5. My baby is in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) as he is premature at 36 weeks, and his lung kinda weak, need to put in ventilator. Now he is recovering well. However he got jaundice. On 3rd day, the reading is 158 and put under phototherapy. Next day he seems ok. Then on 6th day, he is put under phototherapy again and reading is 180. So I am very worried about my baby, and he is still in NICU. As BunnyNwife paed said anything below 230 is fine & dun need phototherapy, why my baby is put under phototheraphy???!! Private hospital is really blood sucker. My baby billing till now almost reaching rm10k. Another way to reduce jaundice is to breastfeed. But i cannot breastfeed directly, so i have to pump milk to hospital everyday. Will breastmilk helps?? Question is, can I take ginger wine soup? Will it affect breastmilk? I'm so lost.....dunno wat to do.
  6. So actually we can consume the Wu Kam Yuen and Soh Hup Yuen, although we are breastfeeding ? This is my 5th day after given birth and my MIL has asked me to take it. Since my baby has little jaundice so I did not take them. However, my baby is fine now. So we can start taking them?
  7. As I am in 33 weeks, i am wondering is it ok to take Oats for lunch? No need to eat hawker food. Sometimes woke during middle of the night due to toilet trips, and then feel hungry. Do you gals eat anything? When baby is hungry, she/he tends to move alot in the tummy?? Do you think so ? For me, i'll just waited for my meal time, din even munch some snacks as i feel myself not "hungry" yet. Not sure will harm my baby onot.
  8. Hi All, Just want to find out what do you usually have for your meals during pregnancy. For me, I just take normal 3 meals a day. Very seldom taking tea time or supper. Each meal also not too much, just eat as normal. And I don't think myself eating too healthy. Morning - biscuits / bread with jam and a cup of milk Lunch - outside hawker food Tea time - light snacks Dinner - homecook food (rice, vege, meat, soup) Fruits not everyday. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Fluene, Congratulations !! Your little angels are so lovely.

  11. Dear all, I'm just wonder, during daytime for newborn baby (1-3mth old), should they sleep on the bouncer or on baby cot/mattress or spring cot? My baby will be taken care by my MIL, and she uses spring cot for her other grandkids.... but then I dun really like the idea. Becoz I saw her grandson who is 4 yrs old will only fall asleep (afternoon nap) after goyang him on the spring cot, then transfer him to sleep on mattress. I dun wan my baby get addicted to the spring cot, so I'm wondering what other way is best for my baby. Her reason for baby to sleep on spring cot is becoz, the sarung able to support (shape) the baby head and bone. If sleep on baby cot, the head will be 'flat'. Anyway, my mum brought us up not using spring cot, instead sleep on bouncer or mattress for day nap.
