  1. Jess, can u update us on your visit to Dr Tang? My wife had some friends who saw Dr Tang and generally had nice things to say, save for the long waiting time. However, all of them had smooth pregnancies. Ashley, can understand how you feel. There are pros and cons of seeing a 'hot doctor'. The 'pros' being the feeling that the doctor must be good cos so popular and the cons is that you feel you are being pushed out the room the minute you entered, esp when the Doc says "do you have anymore questions to ask". Me and the wife always make a list of questions to ask the doctor, that too sometimes can forget. Most important is to always see a doctor that you are comfortable with and can trust. Hope that you and baby are feeling better. Thanks CFA. Anyway just sharing my experience but is up to you gals to decide your gynae. Generally Dr Tang probably suitable for smooth pregnancy like some of you said but never good enough for her to deal with pregnancy complications. Good luck though.
  2. Hi all Mom To Be; I would like to post a simple message on my recent experience with gynae from SJMC (Dr. Tang Boon Nee). In short, about Dr Tang Boon Nee from SJMC Pro 1) She's a happy going gynae and always keep you worry free. (But it may not be a good sign- at least not for my case.) Cons 1) Dr Tang is never attentive, sensitive to her patient or at least to me. This is too much to elaborate on my experience here but if you're interested to know more,... yes I'm willing to share. Eg. she only take a look at the urine result (only after my husband highlighted this to her!), She's not sensitive enough to monitor my progress/conditions. I told her the symptoms I was facing but she said all are small matter and claimed it's normal during pregnancy. And by the time she realized something's wrong (that is also only I've told her all my symptoms again and again) then is already too late. 2) Expensive prenatal check up (normal check up about RM150 - RM200). If with test sometime could be up to RM400. 3) Short consultation. She's extremely busy hence she could only spend less than 10 min everytime you meet her for prenatal check. Waited at least 2 hours everytime just to see her. 4) FYI, I DO NOT mind with (2) and (3) if she is professional enough and do her duty at her level best. Unfortunately, when I was diagnosed with pregnancy complications, all she could say and do is to push me to Government hospital saying that Private hospital medical cost is truly high (> 10 times) compare to Govt hosp. She also mentioned that Private hosp do not handle as much pregnancy complication compare to Govt hosp. Finally I delivered my baby prematurely at Selayang Hosp (Govt hosp.). If Dr Tang is doing her duty well, notice my symptoms, put me on proper medications, all my trauma experiences could have been avoided. I regret that I've trusted this gynae too much and word of caution please trust your instinct I do not mean to tarnish her reputation in anyway. Just would like to share my experience with this Gynae so other mom-to be are aware of it. Good Luck.
