  1. I'm considering Flowerseries in Weld Quay and Ohara Florist in Pulau Tikus. Cheers.
  2. Hi laymin83, Thanks for letting us know! I'm sorry to hear about your terrible experience. Luckily, you've told us about it, as I did consider House of Favours when searching for Wedding Stuffs. Thank you.
  3. I definitely think a trial makeup session is a must! Remember that you only have one Wedding Day and the photos as your memories. It's up to the individual to decide if the risk is worth the cost of a trial makeup session, in case things are not as planned. Good luck!
  4. P.S. - Hi Alisa Wong, Thanks for letting us know about you! May i please kindly suggest that it is probably best to have your clients post up recommendations of your services and links to your Facebook page. Otherwise, the moderators may decide that you are advertising on this forum without paying to do so and ban you.
  5. There are several good makeup artists out there with a good makeup technique that can do the same. However, if i'm not mistaken, I do believe that due to individual situations and eye anatomy some people will not be able to avoid using double eyelid stickers or glue. Though, a good makeup artist will be able to hide the stickers and glue well so that you can still have the beautiful eyes of your dreams, on your Wedding Day! Cheers fellow Brides!
  6. Hi everyone! Just to add my thoughts, I do believe Xuelanruan has listed the title as "Have a comfortable backup plan about wedding dress" on purpose to direct you to checkout Maryann Bridal for a Wedding dress - FALSE ADVERTISING! This malaysiabrides forumer, xuelanruan, has in the past posted forum "advice" written by a "Landy Bridal" and even posted their website link: www.landybridal.com. I checked out this website and this is what appears (copy and pasted): Please be advised that: www.landybridal.com has been shut down pursuant to a court order of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York issued against the website's prior owner due to its unauthorized usage of trademarks and/or copyright protected imagery in order to sell counterfeit merchandise. For your protection, you should only buy products from authorized retailers or websites to ensure receipt of genuine quality products. To purchase authentic David's Bridal products. Therefore, I suspect that xuelanruan is posting on behalf of a chinese based, internet bridal companies and advertising unscrupulously on this forum. Please be careful my fellow Brides...

  8. Hi Avee, Thanks for writing to advise us that you have Wedding DJ's on your books. However, i've already found one! Cheers. :-)
  9. Hi JC2013, Yes, I did find a Wedding DJ. His name is Coollen Ong and you can find him on Facebook. Alternatively, contact Adam Malik, he is a Wedding celebrant and Wedding Planner. I'm sure he can find you a reasonably priced DJ. Adam seemed quite honest and very reasonably priced, so I have booked him for my Wedding in July 2013. Hope that helps, cheers! :-)
  10. Yes, I saw that video a while ago. It definitely was an ingenious idea.
  11. I've heard that Edwin Tan is good, If you check the forum you'll see some of the other brides have used him before and there are reviews on quite a few KL photographers. You just have to trawl through the MB forum. Cheers
  12. I contacted him when i was looking for quotes. He seemed to be really quite expensive and didn't want to shoot long days. Also, i got the impression it was more about the money than anything else, so I stayed away.
  13. HAHAHA That's exactly what my Dad said to me! Good idea! Hmmm...maybe I should get the emcee to get my guests to participate ;p Oh no no lenaho! We were joking! lol. Besides, depending on when your wedding is, the craze may have died down and you will be considered "behind the times" if you do it.
  14. HAHAHA That's exactly what my Dad said to me!

  16. Thanks for the well wishes ChrisBennot!!! Welcome to Malaysia Brides (I noticed that you are new here ) and I wish you all the best for your future too!!
  17. I'm designing my own Wedding Dress and need ALOT of high quality crystals for sewing on my dress. Does anyone know where to get them cheapest, or wholesale pricing? Preferrably in Penang, but anywhere is fine. Thanks! :)
  18. You haven't stated where you are. If in KL and price is not a problem, then i've seen some people post that Remy Ngan is really good. I saw some of her work online and agree with them :) Also, you might like to check out MUAs that use airbrush techniques and check if they are using HD makeup. From what i gather, airbrushing isn't for everyone though, depends on your skin. It's also a good idea to get a trial done. Good Luck! :)
  19. Hi fellow BTBs, So, I have looked at more than 15 different photographers from Penang, KL and Klang Valley! I had LOTS of criteria for picking my AD photographer. Ultimately, it came down to QUALITY & STYLE (most important), price range in the MIDDLE-tier (not budget, but not super expensive either - you get what you pay for) and how easy they are to get along with (need to like and get along with them to be relaxed in photos). FINALLY THE DECISION IS MADE!!! I have choosen to enlist Victor Hew as my photographer for AD and portraits. After the hassles that i have had with some other photography vendors while searching for the right photographer for my Wedding next year, I've found Victor to be really nice, easy-going and accommodating ( I am a perfectionistic/fussy bride). 1). I really like his style of photography! 2). The quality of his work appears to be excellent. 3). He was quick to reply to my enquiry with package rates. 4). I dealt with him directly and he patiently answered all my questions via email and phone. This is better than dealing with him thru an assistant/receptionist who cannot always answer your questions. Also, he is very personable over the phone. 5). He was helpful and accommodating to tailor a photography package to my needs, as my AD schedule is a bit complicated. 6). The assistant photographer is his wife, Wan Ching, who specialises in baby photography ( http://www.o-peekaboo.com ) but also does wedding photography. I like the husband and wife team aspect because I know they are used to working with each other and will therefore, work well as a team on the day! 7). Uses all the appropriate, professional equipment. 8). Albums and product options appear to be of high quality and reasonable price ( I did quite a bit of research on this). 9). Final product deliver time is reasonable. 10). Has lots of good reviews and testimonials. 11). Have not had the AD yet, but he seems to be quite ethical and I TRUST him Victor's photography on his website is excellent quality, if you want to check it out, the website is http://www.victor-hew.com Email: info@victor-hew.com H/P: +60 169 513 308 P.S. - This is NOT an advertisement. Simply a bride who has had to do alot of research on photographers and found a good photographer who meets ALL the criteria hard to find, so I want to help other brides. Good Luck to all BTBs who are photographer hunting!
  20. Hi BTBs, Can anyone recommend a good Wedding DJ in Penang? Preferrably one that speaks English. I do NOT want a band and I know about the pros of a band, but we will not need one. Thanks! :)
  21. Hi BTBs, Tammy Chai has been recommended on this forum several times for MUA in Penang and Ipoh. Just to let all BTBs know that i called her today and she said she is no longer doing this line of work. Good luck hunting everyone! :)
  22. Hi Christopher, Can you please tell me a bit more about your Dj work? Do you have a website, blog or facebook page? Who do you work for now and can you please give me your package details and rates? Are you located in Penang? Thanks.
  23. Hi lenaho, Thanks for the useful info. I've been checking out wedresearch.blogspot.com :)
  24. Hi LK Tan, Good luck. Alex Tan Artworks was the vendor that i had trouble with. You'll have to deal with Alex Tan (based in Penang) through his assistant Samantha Wong (in Singapore). I tried to ask him questions about his work and the contract, however, it seems only Samantha will ever reply to emails regardless of whether they are photographer specific questions and are directed to Alex over a 4 wk period or general questions. No matter how busy, i think 4 wks is plenty of time for Alex Tan to make a personal reply! Samantha is a smooth talker, but prices kept changing in the emails as well, she didn't remember what she offered despite regularly dealing with the quotations for Alex. Also, best be happy with the initial price quoted, as a 2.5% discount on actual wedding day they won't give, but if you sign up to 2 packages for pre-wed and actual day you can get a 10% discount :) I unfortunately, didn't have the finances for pre-wed which was why i asked for 2.5% on actual wedding day only. They said no, so ok. Price difference between the premium package and basic package is about $500, with the only difference being a premium photo album. The album costs $800 to buy separately, but don't let Samantha tell you it costs $900 later on! So to take the premium package will cost $300 less, than to buy the album separately. Don't bother asking if you can buy an extra album at $500 if you take the premium package with original one album (which means 2 albums). Samantha will say NO. I guess they can sell one album for $500, but a second will require extra profit maybe. Last point is to book fast and chase up contract. I guess they were more interested to go to Bali during my wedding period than to photograph in Penang, because i asked for the preliminary contract in emails 3 times so that i could pay a deposit ASAP and they kept delaying sending me any contract, before finally saying someone else had booked them during my date in Bali. At no point was i informed that someone else was interested in the date, although i had been emailing regularly for 4 wks! I am a thorough client, so i do ask questions! I hope this saves you time with your negotiations. Of course, there are always 2 sides to every story... Cheers.
  25. I don't see how asking for a 2.5% discount is wanting a "deep discount." Please read my post above thoroughly before making such ridiculous insinuations.
