  1. I have done several trials before deciding on my AD MUA. I've also tried air brush. It looks really nice when first applied, however it's not true that I did not need touch up and I certainly had shine & appeared a little blotchy on my nose after few hours. I have oily combi skin with enlarged pores. After each trial, I did go out to the heat to take my makeup for a test run. The best for my skin type was traditional but using my all time favourite foundation and my MUA was very skilled in applying it on me, looked very smooth & my pores disappeared. I think the best is to try it out before your AD and compare, not everything suits everyone.
  2. Something timeless, elegant which enhances your beauty. Nothing trendy like caterpillar falsies, outrageous k-pop eyeliners or kawaii shibuya doll makeup, it will look clownish in 10 years time when you look back and please no ridiculous hairstyles & hairpieces that belongs to an opera singer or a mardi gras carnival. Also funny nail art is not timeless & classic. Best to find a MUA with genuinely good taste, too many so called MUA with really "young trendy" taste out there.
  3. A few of my friends have really small eyes and I see different techniques, one is from a bridal house in some small town who uses tape and lashes and it does open the eyes but it still looks forced. Another friend did hers in a bridal house in PJ, have to check with her if you are interested but her makeup is not nice, it's just a big blob of black, so weird. Better for you to do a trial before confirming for your big day.
  4. Delicate situation since she's your SIL. You don't want to get into the in laws bad books. Anyway the bride will always be the focus, with your beautiful gown, hair & makeup, don't worry lah.
  5. Usually the maid of honour but over here it's not really the case I guess. At times even the bride has got to do that herself. My maid of honour got the bridal party to surprise me.
  6. IMHO the more flowers the better and definitely real but they are just too expensive so just having lots of fillers to make it look fuller is great. If you have any good friends or relatives or church members that are artsy and good with their hands, you can buy wholesale and diy. In Malaysia we don't have certain flowers so mixing real and fakes do work as well.
  7. I had a church wedding and my original theme colours were cream black and gold, I thought it would look elegant but on 2nd thoughts, it wouldn't look good with the lighting in my church so I went with a fresh light turquoise, like the tifanny colour with hints of white and silver. It was lovely!
