Sceptical around the idea of mmogo
EA Play set to kickstart E3 2016 as Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, FIFA 17 and more revealed E3 2016: Our 16 most anticipated new games E3 2016: 10 HUGE rumours that to NBA Live Mobile Coins could be revealed Going even further back than last month, Battlefield's publisher EA had long been stating a new entry in the series was coming this year, with some comments originating as far back as two years ago.

It was chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen who said in 2014 that the company planned to have a new shooter every year for the foreseeable future, and 2016 would follow up on the NBA Mobile Coins success of 2015's Star Wars Battlefront with a new Battlefield title."What we've said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles," he replied. "This year it's Star Wars: Battlefront.

Next year, it's another Battlefield title."CFO Blake Jorgensen also confirmed that EA were looking to launch the next Battlefield title around the same time they did with earlier instalments. Interestingly during EA's annual Investor Day briefing earlier in May, EA Studios boss Patrick Soderlund admitted that when the team at DICE initially pitched the idea for a World War 1 themed Battlefield game, he "absolutely rejected it".

Although initially sceptical around the idea of mmogo trench warfare, Soderlund went on to say that DICE eventually won him over."[World War 1] wasn't the most obvious choice," Soderlund said."If you look at what other partners in the industry are doing, they're going into sci-fi; we've had a lot of success in the modern military space. But we felt like there was a need for a change."
