  1. Hi dear, DON'T buy any formula milk!! If not, you, your hubby or your parents/in laws will be tempted to use it. Not having FM in the house will "force" you to persevere with breastfeeding! My breastmilk came on the 2nd day midnight (I let my baby latch on close to 24 hrs!!!), but before that someone in my family already screaming (literally!!!) that we MUST supplement with FM. I insisted no and hey, finally we've succeeded. If you really want, though... you can keep one small box with you to feel safe ;) but don't inform your parents/in laws (most of the time, they're the ones who will insist you give FM)... but only do this if you have enough willpower not to give it to your baby for at least 5 days... I do have a few friends though, who gave formula the first few days together with direct breastfeeding, then switched to exclusive breastfeeding after 2 weeks... they could not tahan because it's very very tiring. But after their supply is their, they stopped giving FM.
  2. aishiteru, I don't think you should start him on cereal now. These days the medical prof recommend starting at 6 mths. Before that they should only take milk. Even at 4 mths, the liver and digestive system is not matured enough yet... so even introducing fruit juice may be bad for their liver. My friend started her daughter on fruit juice at 4 mths, and her daughter had diarrhea for 1 week... Maybe you should just let your baby decide when he wants to eat, that is if you're giving him breastmilk 100% of them time...
