  1. My 6 year old electrolux washing machine's drum doesn't spin smoothly and makes a lot of noise Does anyone know of a reliable and affordable repair service in Klang valley? Would really appreciate any recommendations.
  2. You can get pretty good Korean food with reasonable prices at these places: Ko Hyang at Gardens Midvalley. It is located at the food places opposite the entrance to Cold Storage: http://www.kohyang.com.my/ Another place is KimchiHaru at IOI Boulevard and Jaya One
  3. Yes, Rama V is worth considering. They are also having 50% off. But it appears to be ala carte only. Not sure if it works for wedding events. See here: Rama V
  4. There's a promo for a 40-page 15x11 photobook for only rm59 here: photobookmart.com.my
  5. My dad needs to undergo spinal surgery because a disc on his vertebrae is pressing against the spinal cord: We're trying to decide amongst these specialists for the operation: Dr Siow Yew Siong Orthopaedic surgeon at Sime Darby Medical Dr Shue Chern Long Orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Intan Dr Jagdeep Singh Nanra Neurosurgeon at at Gleneagles Intan Does anyone have any experience to share on any of these doctors? Really appreciate any comments. thanks
  6. I've surveyed quite a few places and Multi Furniture (behind Summit in USJ) has good prices. The showroom is pretty run-down...so you might want to view the furniture elsewhere and the ask them to quote for the same type. (This works for standard items such as Monaza couches, mattresses, and other stuff you can find in catalogs) For chinese antique style furniture, Dinasti (next to Teak Charm) off Jln 222 is a good place to go to. Again the showroon looks more like a warehouse.
  7. There are many of these tile traders around 2 & 1/2 miles Jln Ipoh (near dynasty hotel). You can get a quote from all of them to compare... For White Horse tiles, I found that they have the better prices compared to those in Puchong.
  8. would it be possible for you to share the contact for the painter... really appreciate it. Thanks
  9. It's located in Kepong Entrepreneur Park, at 7th mile Jln Kepong You can check out lis bridal's website: http://www.leeren-bridal.com/product_weddi..._liznovias3.htm They have more gowns in their shop, than what is shown on the website. Ask to see their "export" gowns which are nicer. And remember to negotiate.. don't pay their list price.
  10. thanks for the suggestions :-) keep them coming ! The house is a rental property and several prospective tenants complained about the dirty walls... (previous tenant's kid was quite an artist!) Not terribly concerned about quality... as long as the place looks presentable enough to create a good impression for tenants. Foreign workers are fine cause house is empty... It's in Bkt Jelutong Shah Alam Contacts anyone? By the way, if anyone is interested in renting a 2-storey, 4 rooms, 3 baths, soon-to-be newly painted house let me know :-)
  11. These 2 places are worth checking out for ready to wear gowns Lis Bridal Gown Mfr Kepong Entrepreneurs' Park 58-3 Jln 13/34A 52100 Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur 52100, Wilayah Persekutuan p: 603-62584621 HM Brides in UE3, Cheras www.hmbrides.com These 2 places are wholesalers/manufactures that supply to bridal shops (BS). You will find some of the dresses you see at BS at these 2 places and the prices are much lower compared to BS. For the BS rental price, you can buy a gown here! But don't expect nice showrooms at these 2 places.. Lis Bridal looks more like a factory with people sewing dresses... but the gowns are nice!
  12. Does anyone have contacts for house painters? I am looking for the cheapest possible and do not mind foreign workers.. Appreciate all advice... Thanks in advance
  13. House Lighting faces the LDP just before the Bandar Bukit Puchong exit and the Putrajaya toll http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=2.990166&amp...20enterprise%22 It's not too difficult to find.
  14. Hi simonne, I checked out your 'My Baking Diary' blog.. very nice! You are pro compared to me! Which model of sharp do you use?
  15. Hi suevian, main purpose is to bake cakes and cookies. Was also considering microwave with baking features but was told that microwave doesn't do baking well... so I'm looking at convection ovens
