1. Hi Makeupjunk First, Congratulation on ur newborn baby!!!~~ can i ask if u r having ur period now?? if u r, maybe this is the reason why ur breastmilk flow decrease~ or maybe u dun feed ur baby frequent enough so ur breastmilk is decreasing and it will end up having no more breastmilk so my advice is, dun give up, feed him more often whenever he needs it, and drink more fluid~
2. Hi Babyjazz~ soon to be mum? Congrats~ you can still take all those, no problem, as long as u dun take too much of it, and my paed told me that too much of ginger might cause ur baby to have jaundice
3. Is anyone giving their babies Goat's infant formula milk? mind to share? thanks~~
4. Hope this help If you're not producing as much milk as you (and your baby) would like, try the following: • See a lactation professional~ She can weigh your baby and give you tips on how to boost your milk supply. • Feed your baby often. Frequent nursing sessions stimulate your body to produce more milk. • Get the best latch-on possible. Check for proper positioning at the breast. • When your milk flow with compression seems to be slowing, switch sides and repeat. Keep switching back and forth between breasts until your baby is satisfied or stops swallowing. A more effective measure may be to nurse your baby for ten to 15 minutes per breast, then use a fully automatic electric breast pump with a double collection kit to completely drain your breasts and increase milk production. • A sleepy baby may need to be awakened and encouraged to nurse more vigorously (thus stimulating your glands to produce more milk). To arouse him, try switching sides frequently, alternating positions, or even undressing him. Some mothers play with their baby's feet during feedings to keep him awake. • Mothers who determine that their milk output is actually low may want to have their thyroid level checked. A low thyroid level is known to reduce milk supply. • If you're not sure your baby is sucking well, or are still concerned about your milk supply, don't hesitate to call on a lactation consultant for help.
5. My baby is 3mo and has blocked nose always also sometimes he can sneeze it out by himself sometimes i put some normal saline into his nose and roll the tissue paper and put him his nose and the shit come out with it together~ ( learned this from my paed) hehe!
6. Hi vIv, i have some question to ask u, hope that u can help me with this... my parents in law keeps saying that my baby is too small for his age ( 5.7KG at 3 months old) because i m giving him only breastmilk and no formula, my paediatrician told me that since my babies was 2.8kg during birth and now he has 5.7kg at 3 months actually consider very good already~ since u r breastfeeding ur baby exclusively may i know when was ur baby's weight at 3mo?~ and also weight at birth so that i can compare a bit~ Thanks
7. Hi Janice~ when are u due?? i have this problem also, i stayed in confinement centre which was a HUGE MISTAKE to make.. it was a BAD experience for me and feel sad even mentioning it, maybe i chose a wrong confinement centre or all the confinement centres are the same?? they dun allow u to breastfeed ur baby directly, i wanted to and get scolded by the nannies there cause they think it's troublesome to bring my baby to me each time he wants to eat~ well i ended up staying in the confinement centre for only 2 weeks and go home and hired my relative to come help me for another 2 weeks of confienment and i breastfeed my baby directly since then~ about ur nipple having discharge, i think the best is for u to consult your gynae?? any discomfort ? if u have pain or watever make sure u tell ur gynae also ..~
8. Hey Viv~ you are good~ i always wonder what is gonna happen when ur baby start teething? do u still nurse directly or extract out? how long do u plan to breastfeed your baby~? my baby got a little bit of jaundice the first week after birth~ my mil told me to stop breastfeeding because my SIL has the same problem and as soon as she stop Breastfeeding her babies's jaundice go away.. but i didn't and continue with the breastfeeding...hehe~ i think alcohol intake is ok during breastfeeding as long as u dun take too much of it~ but i heard ginger and 'Sor hap yun' (somekind of chinese medicine we like to take during confienment) tends to make babies to get jaundice. Anyone heard about this before?

10. Can you choose your baby's sex using natural methods, or are they just old wives' tales? Is sex selection legal? Medical genetic selection is only legal in the UK for strict medical reasons. Sex selection on the basis of simple parental preference is widely regarded as unethical. Do any of the homespun gender selection techniques work? There are a lot of different theories and approaches to natural gender selection but very little scientific study. As there's no solid evidence, medical experts warn against taking them too seriously. Some people say there's strong anecdotal evidence and that there's no harm in trying them, as very few methods are intrusive. Most popular methods TIMING OF SEX What's the theory? Male sperm are lighter in weight and swim faster than female ones so are more likely to reach the egg. Having sex on the day of ovulation should increase the chances of conceiving a boy. Female sperm are heavier and live longer so having sex a few days before ovulation and then abstaining (while the male sperm die) should increase the chances of conceiving a girl. Dr Landrum Shettles developed this theory in the US in the 1960s. It's complemented by the Billings' Method, which is about timing sex around the consistency of vaginal mucus (when it's thin and clear for boys, thicker and sticker for girls). Couples using this method tend to have boys more than girls. What's the success rate? Advocates claim 75% but there's only a tiny amount of medical evidence in the UK to support it. Confusingly, another theory exists based on observations that couples that didn't live together before conceiving had more girls. They were thought to be less likely to have sex at the time of ovulation, backing up the idea that conceiving four or five days before ovulation was more likely to produce a boy. SEXUAL POSITION What's the theory? Male sperm are more vulnerable and the vagina becomes less acidic closer to the cervix. So if penetration is deep (woman-on-top or man-behind positions), the male sperm will enter a more alkaline environment and are more likely to survive the short journey. Shallow penetration should favour your chances of conceiving a girl: the slower female sperm are hardy enough to withstand the acidic conditions at the entrance to the vagina so could make it through to the egg after the male sperm have died off. What's the success rate? Not high, since the theory fails to take into account that the difference in lifespan between male and female sperm is a matter of days, not minutes. Medical sceptics say that force of ejaculation and physics of sexual position don't play a part in getting the sperm to their destination more quickly – that's determined by the chemistry of cervical mucus. MALE SEXUAL ABSTINENCE What's the theory? Abstaining for a few days before making love increases your chances of conceiving a boy. The greater the volume of sperm, the more male sperm should be present, so theoretically there's a greater chance that a male sperm survives and fertilises the egg before a female sperm can reach it. What's the success rate? Not high. Sceptics say that with more sperm, the chances of you getting pregnant may be higher, but there's no gender factor. CHANGING YOUR DIET What's the theory? The minerals in your diet could affect your metabolism and the environment of your eggs. - To improve conditions for male sperm you need potassium (in meat, bananas, apricots and celery). - To improve conditions for female sperm you need more magnesium-rich food (in nuts, soya beans and leafy green vegetables). What's the success rate? There's no scientific data on humans to support the potassium or magnesium theories, although experts say diet does seem to play some part in gender selection. Historical events have shown that famine can result in more boys being born but also that women weighing less than 54.5 kilos are more likely to have girls. This could mean that the type of food and nutrients available to those people played a part, or that calorie intake has an effect - but a low-calorie diet has a very different effect to malnutrition. TIMING OF ORGASM What's the theory? If you reach orgasm before your partner, your vagina becomes more alkaline, which creates a better environment for male sperm. Female sperm survive better in the naturally acidic environment of your vagina, so climaxing first would favour the conception of boys. What's the success rate? Little. Prolonged foreplay has the same effect of increasing vaginal secretions, which could be just as effective at reducing its acidity – but no one has suggested female foreplay as a method for conceiving boys. DOUCHING What's the theory? Male sperm favour alkaline conditions, so douching (flooding the vagina via a syringe) with a dilute alkaline solution, such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) before intercourse increases the chances of conceiving a boy. What's the success rate? There's a very small amount of medical evidence that backs up this theory, but some experts warn women against putting sodium bicarbonate into their vagina because they may not know how diluted to make it, and in any case, the acid in the vagina is there for necessary protection against infections like thrush. Found this somewhere and find it quite easy to understand~ all the mthods with little success rate, but combining all the methods maybe u might have a higher chance?~ hehe
11. She has a lovely eyes~~ that's the advantage of having a babygirl~ can dress up for her~~ older ppl always say, if u look at cute babies alot during pregnancy, ur baby will be cute too~ so all the Soon to be mum here should look at Rachel's photos more ~ hehe~
12. there's one more thing i would like to add BREASTMILK is the best for ur baby , provided the mother has GOOD DIET~ hehe~ i drink anmum breastfeeding milk everyday~ not trying to promote anmum here~ there's also other brand like enfamama dunwan to flood the forum so i just edit this post by adding more, breastfeeding is definately NOT smooth sailing, it depends on how much u commit urself into it, some complain that they dunhave enough milk supply, it's all ecause of mummies lazy to empty out their breast frequently ( pump at least 4 hours once) , no offence ya mummies here~ just to share with u guys about my story the first 2 days after my baby is born, i have no milk supply, only the colostrum, have to squeeze very hard only u see one drop come out, but i just nurse directly and let my baby to suck~ maybe it's really hard to suck out and make my baby to suck real hard, my nipple got cracked and bleed~ i though of giving up on breastfeeding, but my paediatrician gave me a medela nipple shield, just to protect my nipple while nursing. and after one week, everything is okay, as i was staying in confinement centre, i pump out my milk and gave to the nannies to store in fridge and feed the baby when he wants it, so basically i din have to wake up during nitetime, but this is a huge mistake to do if u want to breastfeed long term, because if u sleep through the whole nite,we are toking about 8,9 hours here. if u breastfeeding in such a way, maybe not yet fullmoon already ur breastmilk supply stop de~ i have frens who pump out the milk once a day, and her breastmilk stopped after 4 weeks~ so the theory is the less frequent u extract ur milk, the less supply of ur breastmilk lo~ i m not a breastfeeding specialist la, im speaking all these from my experience and whenever i had problem i just consult my baby's paediatrician who is a breastfeeding specialist~
13. Hi Jajar, your breastmilk supply shouldn't stop if u are breastfeeding in a correct way~ it's either you do not have milk supply at all since the beginning or u keeps having milk if u empty ur breast frequently~ my tips on breastfeeding is keeps letting ur baby to suck always~ if u r working mother, pump out at least 4 hours once~
14. i have been breastfeeding my baby for 3 months now i have oversupply milk problem also after feeding my baby, before he wants again , i have engorgement and i have to pump out the extra milk to store in the freezer, because i keeps having milk and i ended up discard all the milk in freezer~ As for electric breastpump, mummies here used about 20-30 mins to empty both breast, i m using AVENT Manual breastpump and i used about 10 mins to empty both breast, i m speaking about my current stage of breastmilk flow. but the first week of not having much milk was a nitemare for me. when i first started feeding which is the first week after my baby is born i though of buying a electric breastpump also, cause my hand was SO TIRING pumping out the milk. after the first week i changed my mind, because at the first few days i didn't have much milk to come out, i m glad that i have a wonderful paediatrician who is a breastfeeding specialist,i called her and told her that i was going to give up on breastfeeding because i have not much milk coming out and i m afraid that my baby will be starved~she advice me to keeps letting my baby to suck and it will be ok later. the second week, i just need to keep pumping for a few times to stimulate my breast and after that i just need to hold the handle without letting go and my milk just flow out ! so i changed my mind of getting an electric breastpump because i think using a manual one will be less time consuming ? but honestly speaking i have not used an electric breastpump before, because when i was in the hospital, i din used their electric breatpump because i have no milk~ i just breastfeed my baby directly. unless we are talking about those more expensive breastpump who has 2-Phase Expression mode such as Swing Medela Breastpump, but it's quite pricey , cost about RM800 over ~ so i think there are a few things we need to consider before getting a breastpump? such as your budget, how long u plan to breastfeed? But for mummies who are not working , it's best to let ur baby to suck without pumping out, because the milk coming out directly from our body has the right temperature and fresh for ur baby. some babies who drink milk slowly, second half of the milk they drink is cold already for bottle feeding~ my baby has this problem during the first month after born~ it takes about 30 mins to finish 90ML of milk every feeding~
15. Rosayee Yes there's a method some women has trouble ovulate and they would take fertility drugs like clomid and this increses the chance of getting twins~ :) have to add this taking clomid has its side effect~ so always think twice~

18.
Boy or girl?
Baby gender predictor - advice on whether it is possible to choose the gender of your baby and tips on conceiving either a boy or girl. Can you choose the sex of your baby? Unfortunately there is no medical evidence that any of the old wives tales said to help you to choose the sex of your baby actually work. However there is always someone who will tell you it worked for them so why not give it a go! You are said to conceive a girl if: you have sex a few days before your day of ovulation. Female sperm are thought to be stronger and therefore last longer than male sperm, which may die off before reaching the egg.you stop having unprotected sex four to five days before ovulation, to minimise the chances of the male sperm reaching the egg firstyou have sex frequently to lower your partner's sperm count, and so increase the chances of the female sperm reaching the egg firstyou keep penetration shallowyour partner reaches orgasm before youyou drink plenty of milk and eat dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt, unsalted foods, rice, pasta, certain vegetables, mineral water, limited amounts of meat and potatoesyou avoid salt and any salty foods, wine and beer, fresh fruit, spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms, chocolate, coffee and tea.your partner keeps his genitals warm by wearing close-fitting underwear and tight trousers (although this isn't likely to do his general fertility any good!)you suggested the love-makingyou make love in the afternoonyou make love on even days of the monthyou put a wooden spoon under your bed and a pink ribbon under your pillowYou are said to conceive a boy if: you have sex on the day of ovulation. Male sperm are thought to swim faster and reach the egg first.you avoid sex for a week before ovulation and then only have sex once on ovulation day, to keep the sperm count highyour partner has a high sperm count. Male sperm are not as strong as female sperm, and so the higher the count, the more chance there is of a male sperm reaching the egg firstyou have deep penetration during sexyou reach orgasm before your partner, this releases an alkaline fluid thought to be more male-sperm friendly than the vagina's natural acidityyou eat salty food, plenty of meat, fish, white flour, pasta, fresh fruit, certain vegetablesyou avoid milk and dairy products, such as yoghurt and cheese, nuts, chocolate, shellfish and wholemeal bread.your partner keeps his genitals cool by wearing boxer shorts and loose-fitting trousersyour partner suggested the love-makingyou make love at nightyou make love on odd days of the monthi copied and pasted this from some website~
