  1. Hi, i think it really depends on the venue of your banquet, budget and other logistic considerations. My in laws stay in Kota Damansara and my banquet is at Sheraton Subang. I didnt put my singapore relatives at Sheraton because that place is too isolated. Instead, i put them up at Royale Bintang Damansara, because there's heaps of shopping and F&B around the area. They can go shopping or dining even in BU. The only transport i need to do is ferry them to the banquet venue.
  2. Hi all, i just had my wedding dinner at Sheraton Subang (but at the Emperor Restaurant), i absolultely love the food and ambience, though the banquet pricing is slightly expensive. For me, most of my guests only give RM80 - RM100, so it's pretty hard to break even there. My only complaint is that the last 3 -4 dishes were served too fast and the whole dinner ended at 10pm, fairly early for a banquet. I had to rush to change into my last gown to farewell the guests. My banquet co-ordinator is Gee Kee, my first impression of her wasn't very pleasant. I thought she was impolite and unaccomodating. When i requested for freebies etc, she just rejected me outright. However, during the months co-ordinating the wedding, i find her very pleasant to work with, very helpful and definitely very responsive. You can count on her replies within 24hours, even over weekend. She is basically a non-nonsense lady, if she can provide any freebies, she will offer you outright, she never over-commit. Looking back, I really do appreciate her frankness and relentless help. Thanks Sheraton Subang and Gee Kee!
  3. Hi princessbride, apologies for the late reply. I dont check this forum regularly. I am not sure what exactly you like. But local japanese brand cosmetics are fabulous, RMK and "Ralicious" are very good and only sold in Japan. Otherwise, you can buy FANCL there, it's cheaper in Japan. If you are a big fan of Japanese snacks, try their tiramisu chocolate (which is sold in a green candy wrapper). Hope this help
  4. From what i heard, the rule of thumb is to give ang bao to everyone younger than you who is present during the tea ceremony. Just give a small token, say RM10. Anyone who helped in the wedding, say the chauffeur, the boy who open the door, the jiemui and heng tai should all receive a little ang bao from the bridal couple and their parents.
  5. Hi all, i travelled from Osaka - Nagoya - Takamaya - Osaka last October for a week. It was fabulous, pls PM me if you would my itinerary. I personally find the below website very helpful, if you have any queries, you can post them on forum and there are very experienced and professional ppl to address your queries. http://www.japan-guide.com/
  6. Hi hi, here's my 2cents worth, I agree with eunice.anne4. It's the friendship you have with your jiemuis and how spontaneous they are. If they are hesistant to wear red but you have the budget, buy them a red dress or something you like. In that case, they won't have an excuse not to adhere to your theme. Good luck!
  7. Hi adyong85, i will be using Kelly Leong HP:96701123 for my SG ROM. She stays in clementi and does makeup for ROM & Wedding couples, very popular lady. Do book her early if you are keen. I dont have samples of her work, 'cos i went down to her flat to see her samples.
  8. Hi Zunzhine, i like the wrist corsage you did. Can i know where you bought the pearl bracelet? Thx!
  9. Hi hi, i was in Krabi last month and stayed in Royal Nakara Hotel near Ao Nang Beach, booked it via latestays.com at RM190/room/night inclusive of breakfast for 2. It's a family run boutique hotel, where rates are very affordable, location is fantastic and service is excellent. Breakfast is pretty simple, (same stuff everyday) and not much facilities available. Excellent if you plan to have a clean, decent room to stay in and be out on day trips most of the time.
  10. I signed up for a TOM package at the recent MV fair, i dont think it was a jaw dropping deal. It's a standard package which i would get, had i do a walk in at the bridal studio. Apparently the highlight was the lucky draw top prize; trip for 2 to Paris. However, i didnt stayed till 8pm for the draw.
