  2. Hello! Anyone here has any recommendation or any suggestions on hotel venues or convention centre venues for a wedding banquet (kl venue)? Sime Darby CC quoted 1.8k++, seems like pricey (almost hotel range). Are hotels displayed packages fixed? Or can it be lowered much further? If anyone could share some of their experiences or knowledge it would be great! My budget is below 1.8k per table. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi all bride-to-be's!!

My fiance and I paid a deposit of RM 5,000 for our wedding dinner at Oriental Pavilion @ Jaya 33 for 9th July 2016. This venue can fit a minimum of 20 or maximum of 53 tables.
As you know, the food under the Oriental group is good and this venue is quite popular.
I am letting it go as I have decided to go for an outdoor western dinner instead.
Do contact (+60129359787) me for more info or a negotiable price

Hope to hear from you girls soon!!

  7. Hello peeps :)

Any brides-to-be or brides experienced any bad customer service from Carcosa's wedding planner?

This particular person doesn't reply to emails, sms and now phone calls! It's really upsetting. Anyone knows someone else there whom I can contact? The current PIC is the Assistant Manager for Weddings/Events.

    Much appreciated....

  9. Dear people and friends, that day my uncle has booked a Sri petaling (Overseas Restaurant) for my wedding banquet n September this year, I was not aware and just let him pay the deposit. Never did I expected, the last week when I went down with gf. Both of us got a shock at that place. My girlfriend really hated that place and has been very angry with me for taking things for granted. Because she realised that it was alittle too run down. it was a once in a lifetime decision, I really don't want to disappoint her. But for now, I really stuck and really did not which good restaurant to choose. now when I see her very sad. I also felt very bad. i am feeling very remorseful but i will still need to move on and source for better places.

Dear people, I will really need all of your help to recommend me small venues for wedding banquets around KL AND PJ. I have around only 15 tables to invite. Please help please help!!! Thanks for your assistance. i will truly appreciate all your comments!

  10. Hi all, I'm looking for a wedding dinner venue, that can cater to 300pax or more. Preferably a place with good food and a view. I prefer not to have in hotel or any chinese restaurants, cos I don't really like Chinese wedding dinner type of food.

So far I've looked at all the typical garden wedding restaurants such as Ciao or Passion Road, but they can only cater up to 170pax maximum. I also explored Sentul Lake Side at KL Pac, but they also replied me to say their max is 170pax.

Thought of doing a rooftop wedding as well - maybe rent a big penthouse and cater myself, or rooftop dinner venue such as Teeq. Problem is the penthouse wedding is going to be very expensive, and probably cannot fit 300 ppl as well, and Teeq replied me to say they are closed for renovation T_T

Any help is greatly appreciated. I really don't want to do those normal Chinese wedding, but it would be my last resort if really no choice.

Budget is around RM150-180 per person. Of course, less is better hehe. :)

  11. Hello to all,

I am in the beginning stages of planning my Summer 2014 wedding.

I DO NOT want to do it at a hotel/catering hall!

Any suggestions for a UNIQUE venue for the ceremony/reception?

    Thanks in advance.
  12. Hi all,

We finally had our wedding 1,5 months ago. Wanted to share our experience:

We had a total of 3 things on the same day at the same venue:

Tea ceremony Garden ROM Wedding Dinner
Just for those of you who mlght get confused, this is the Club Saujana Resort (right next to the larger/ older Saujana Resort). It can easily accommodate for 60-80 guests.

    Venue
the venue was perfect for us:

Tea ceremony, we used a small private are in the restaurant which is very well light for the tea ceremony. The restaurant served tea and snacks at the end of this. Was very good, as they set up the room with nice chairs and gave very good pics

Garden ROM, We used their outside area for our ROM. There is a lovely bridge, and water pond. We had our ROM at about 6 PM which also gave us a wonderful sunset on our pics. We used the banquet chairs provided and red carpet, sound system etc. and it was a dream wedding.

Dinner, The dinner set-up was perfect. The venue has a very cosy restaurant. This gave the perfect level of intimacy for our event.

The rooms are big and good to get ready in, the lighting also gives very nice prep pictures. And surely good for wedding night :)

    Food
the food (Western food) was absolutely delicious. It was a four course meal, which we had decided upon with the chef, giving option for fish, meat and vegetarians even. The chef is very skilled and the presentation is absolutely perfect. The chef is skilled and knows his stuff and even recommended us wines to go with the food.

    Service
The managers and their team are absolutely competent and professional. We as bride and groom are quite control freaks, but had no trouble putting our faith in the good hands of the Club Saujana management. Each and every detail was taken care of as discussed and share in our itinerary. One could tell that the people really put in their heart and soul to make our day extra special.
Even the grooms suits which were ruined by the dry cleaner were fixed by the hotel on short notice.

So for all you people looking for a cosy/intimate wedding, make sure to check it out.

    Best of luck peeps!!!!
  13. There is a brand new hotel / resort in Johor Bahru with ballroom banquet capacity up to 300 pax. Food there taste great and they have the perfect rooms for the wedding ceremony (for those working outstation) as they are a hotel but apartment concept. Huge room and venue, definitely worth a try!

Anyway, here's their website www.bayumarinaresort.com and you can see more details there.

  19. Hi all,

Anyone knows the exhibitors lined up for the upcoming KL Wedding Expo in Midvalley from 18-20 January 2013? I'm in a dilemma now because I've almost set my mind on my wedding venue, and just got to know about the expo. I'm not too sure whether to secure my paeckage and pay deposit, or wait for the expo. @_@
  20. We are planning to have our wedding in 2013, need some suggestion on venue. My FH is a food lover and insist that the quality of food should be the top priority. Beside that, our other criteria includes :-
    - Chinese restaurant that serve pork
    - no pillars
    - no fish tanks restaurant
    - preferable no few weddings going on at the same restaurant
    - capacity of around 50 tables +

Beside The Club at damansara, any other suggestion? Does Tropicana Golf&Country Club Tai Thong serve pork?

    Thanks peeps!!
  21. Have anyone hold their WD at Crowne Plaza Hotel before?
How's the setting and the spacing ?
    Is it good?
  22. Hi all,

I have to let go my wedding dinner reservation at Concorde Hotel KL. I have already paid a deposit of RM5000 and I would like to transfer it. Thanks!!
  23. My wedding's planned for this year end -Dec but am still looking for an affordable garden venue for my wedding reception. Initially looking into places like Passion Road, Ciao, Saujana but these places are quite pricey.
Not sure if it's possible to have a venue budgeted around RM50 or less with brunch /lunch package? Mainly its just for the reception as I'll still be having a separate dinner at night.

Anyone knows any nice affordable places to share? Appreciate your sharings...
