vintage 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Hi have anyone tried halfing a standard 8 or 9 inch round cake recipe? I don't want to bake such a huge cake. It's only for 2 person. I was wondering if I could use a 6 inch round pan for the half recipe instead. Thank you.
meiteoh 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I do it all the time - you just need to be very careful with the measurements and note that cooking time may also vary depending on the size of your pan and temperature. It will definitely take longer to bake an 8 inch cake compared to a 6 inch.
vintage 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks Mei... now with your reply I have confidence to try it! I just bought myself a 6 inch Wilton's Springform... couldn't wait to try.
