maesy_11 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 I let my bb girl took Pneumococcal vaccine. I were told by the paed that it is recommended for a bb to take the said vaccine in his/her 6th month, according to him, in the first 6 months, a baby's body will still keeps the antibody which given by the mother. Therefore, normally he recommends parents to provide Pneumococcal vaccine after the 6th month. I believe in his opinion and followed his suggestion by giving my bb the vaccine in her 6th month, so she in totality she needs to take three jabs. Each jab costs RM 290. Aphrodite 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2009 My baby is 2 months old and my paed recommended the pneumococcal vaccine together with the triple antigen. Apparently this pneumococcal jab is more painful coz my baby screamed much louder when the paed injected it into his thigh. The paed also suggested the Rotavirus vaccine for my baby at 3 months old. He says my baby is not too young to have these jabs...

janicelly 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 ogosdream,oh.....now i get it. i dont think it's true lo cos it concerns a doctor's skill & not related to whether he/she is expensive or not!erm, i dont remember the exact amount cos we took rotavirus & pneumococcal together & the bill will be RM200+ (including doc's consultation). different paed will have different consultation time. for mine, i think she's available mon - fri from 10.00am - 4.00pm, Sat until 1.00pm but Sunday they are closed.hope this info helps. jasmine81 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 one of the reason that i give birth in gov hospital is because my mom said all the vaccination for bb are free...i'm wondering does this 2 vaccination is given free by gov...anyone have any ideas??hi aishiteru,i had checked wif the gov clinic, they got NO these 2 vaccination, it's only provided in private hosp~i'm also understand from the private hosp that the youngest ur bb get the vac, the more injection they need to have & the higher it cost~
meiya 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 cutiem627, my baby took both of the vaccination at Pantai Bangsar. He took rotarix (2jabs-oral medication) & pneumococcal (alrdy took 3jabs ,now 1 more jab to go in Jun). But for the injection of pneumococcal, my baby din feel vy vy pain during the injection, just like normal injection. Mayb he can tahan it well :p.the charges is abt Rm300-400 each times (incl. consultation fees). So, we hv alrdy spend nearly two thousand on baby vacination, and perhaps private hosp's charges is higher than gov/clinic. What to do, all these for our baby's health. :)
