meiteoh 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 Okay, I have this to say.The cabinet line up is SHITTY. All the important positions are given to useless and/or corrupt people with a lot of baggage - Education, Home, Finance, and Defence. It is important that these posts are given to the right people because they are the ones who pave the way for the direction and growth of the country. Btw, in case those of you don't know, Home Minister is the one calling the shots for ISA and all media related issues like licensing and yes, even censorship. But then again, look at who is PM (he is suspected of corruption yet holding the No 1 post of Finance Minister???? OMIGOD.). No wonder.

fluene 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 To me, I don't really care who the ministers are because the real power is not with the ministers. I'm just curious to know who is the friend / ally of the new PM
meiteoh 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2009 To me, it's both - if the posts are given to allies and cronies, we're screwed because their concern will just be about how THEY can benefit from the position. At least if it's given to honest and decent people, there is a fighting chance that the rakyat will come first, no matter how slim it may be. I haven't been really in tuned with politics since I left but I gather from logical assumption that the people holding the important posts are the PM's cronies or people he wants to get on his good side - at least that's how it was with Dr M.
