hi,

I have been TTC for 2 years. After so many times of dissapointment, I decided to go for IUI. Luckily, I'm 5 months pregnant now with Twins babies. So I do believe although IUI success rate is low as compare to IVF, but we still have chances to get pregnant. So no harm to try. Don't give up.

I try IUI 3 times. The doctor used used an IUI kit which is supposed to be equally good and is done in a normal clinic. I wonder how effective it is.

Hi Cherrylu,

IUI kit is use by clinic which dont have a IVF Lab. A friend of mine had several IUI at a GP clinic using IUI kit. She is still trying and hopeful about it. The good thing is...its cheap.

She din try at IVF specialist cos of cost.

Hi everyone have not been here for a long time. Reading back all the posts made me feel that you're all so brave and full of optimism yet, it's a long and scary journey for most of us who had gone through/is going through the process of having our little ones. Just wanted to share, one year after having and ICSI baby..I just found out..I"M PREGNANT!!! My hubby and I were shocked when we found out last week. We went through ICSI after trying for 4 years and found that hubby had low count and motility issues. Now my baby boy just turned 9 months and suddenly the 'impossible' had happened.I also dont know how to feel now :wacko3:

Did it happen because we were less stressed? Would we have gotten pregnant if we had waited? Who knows rite? Anyway the point here is I believe things happen for a reason and sometimes we can plan all we want but someone else decides. Anyhow I'm seeing the doc tomo and boy will he be surprised to see me!

Oh, my hubby also jokingly commented that he wants a paternity test when the baby is out :sauer2:

Look like IUI kit success is not high. But, I will still give a few more try because it is convenient.

Dear all,

so glad to see all successful of IUI and IVF here.

Perhaps someone could share with me what is the sucessful rate of

1) IUI

2) IVF

3) ICSI

I suppose gynae explain during consultation.

Me and HB is TTC for 2 years ++ We had went thru sperm count and ultra sound but still no news. In fact, Dr Wong sum keong of Pantai Bangsar advise us to do more as HB always outstation. But my concern is even HB is here during my ovalution, still i didnt get pregnant. I was thinking to either do a further checking on my ovari or IUI. But it look like IVF have the higher successful rate compare with IUI. So i'm confused, dont know which one should choose.

Hi all,

I just stumble upon this forum and als oin the dilemma of seeking fertility treatment. For sure, we want to seek treatment, but what treatment + at where is the question. My hubby has very bad result on semen analysis, in all count :( Supposedly, I am ok, unless I do a laproscopy to confirm. But from ultrasound scan + vaginal scan, all looks alright, menstrual cycle seems ok...had a "chemical pregnancy" 6 mths ago (blood test is positive, but no sign of baby + started spotting) which I tried to sustain (by taking hormones), and ended up bleeding for a few mths :(

We are contemplating IVF (that's what doctor advise us), but I am also worried abuot the drugs + all the hormones, friends told me it will affect our body + it's bad for the baby too!

Anyone heard of Golden Gate Fertility Centre in Puchong, supposed to be a chinese medical way to help ppl get pregnant, their pills are herbs based & no hormone. Anyone has any experience there to share?

I am 34 this year, after reading through the trial mail, I am also worried whether I shd drag on further or just go for an IVF to speed up the process....yet, worried that I cannot handle the failure, if it fails....yeah yeah, try to be positive, but it's only natural for ppl like us to feel anxious...

Really appreciate some comments/ sharing which can help in my case.....

Hi Holah,

I understand how you feel, cos we are having the same problem..my hubby was diagnosed for having low sperm motility and dr advised us to do ivf/icsi. We ttc for 2 years already. Tried iui, sinseh, and clomid...still nothing happens...and we are planning to go for ivf next cycle...cos our age is catching up too...32 this year...

I am wondering are there any side effects for ivf/icsi treatment? Can anyone share?

Hello Hola,

I want to share with you my experience in Golden Gate Fertility Center. My first visit cost me RM 1200, this includes consultation, blood test (from pathlab) and medications for both husband and wife. My hubby and i were really shocked that it cost that much. After my first visit, i contemplated should i continue. Did some searching and read from someone's comment that you should be ready to come up with RM400 - RM500 WEEKLY. So for one month treatment i need to come up with RM 2k. I decided to stop the treatment but i want to get back my blood test report, after all i paid for it. So i visited Dr Khoo again last Friday, i made it very clear from the begining that i only wanted to take my blood test report. I explained to Dr. Khoo that i can't afford these treatments. I told him i am unable to come up with RM 2K a month. He did a lot of hard selling on the sucess cases and tells me that it's a pity that i should stop the treatment as i am losing an opportunity to get pregnant. He goes on page by page on the tempreture charting of his sucessful cases. He said i am 29 years old, it's likely that i can't afford but my husband is 41 years old, he should be able to afford the treatments. I was adamant that we cannot afford, he goes on saying that we just dont want him to earn the money. He says all the fertility treatment that you have done in western hospital easily cost more than this. One IVF is 17K. so what is 2k per month ? To end the session quickly, i told him i am not intrested to hear anymore of this, all i want is my blood test. Reluctantly, he went through our blood test, continue to instill more fear factor in me. All in all, i find that Dr. Khoo is very unprofessional. He even condemns the practice of other doctors. This is my personal experience, i hope it helps.

I am new in this forum. I had problem getting pregnant, although we had tried for two years. I am 29 and my HB is 52. Due to our job we are not leaving together since i am working in KL and my HB is in Penang. This is second marriage for my HB. After two year TTC in natural ways and fail, we decide to see a doctor. The doctor said that nothing wrong with me and said the reason why we are fail to have our own baby due to distance and time. The doctor even did not do any test to my HB since he had three children from his previous marriage. I am a bit skeptical about this because his younger child is 19 years old already. A lot of thing happen "in his body" after nearly 20 years right. He also had High Blood Pressure and taking medicine called TWYNSTAR to control it. My question; is it true that a man fertility decrease according to their age? Whether the medicine he takes give any side affect to his fertility? Should i ask him to do sperms test? I am not trying to put all the problem on his shoulder but, if there any problem occur I am thinking we should know, then we know where to start to solve it. I am thinking to do IUI first then IVF.
