Dear all,

Every year the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) and UNICEF hold what's called the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) during the first week of August to promote breastfeeding the world over. MMPS uses this opportunity to reach out to families by holding the "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" event where mothers breastfeed their babies for one minute together at the same time.

We would like to cordially invite all to join us at our event on 1st August 2009, at Dewan Kuliah A, USM Campus (opposite CIMB bank) from 9.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m., we will have interactive talks on breastfeeding during emergencies as the theme this year is "Breastfeeding: A Vital Emergency Response. Are you Ready?" and games for families. The significant event will be "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" throughout the ENTIRE MALAYSIA. Our Guest of Honour for the day is Mr Youssouf Oomar from UNICEF.

Join us in making history. You can join us at our event venue or join the "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" from the comfort of your home.

For more information, call us at 016-4211782 or email pgmmps@gmail.com.

NOTE: Pre-registration is required, please kindly email the below details to pgmmps@gmail.com:

1. Your contact number?

2. The number of people to attend event with you?

3. Are you joining the "1-minute Simultaneous BF" program? (It is at 10:30am, whereby all moms will breastfeed the babies at same time all over Malaysia)

4. How did you get to know of this event?

5. Are you a BF mom/ex-BF mom/expecting mom?

See you there. Thank you.

Best regards,
Connie Mooi
016-4211782
(Coordinator of MMPS WBW2009 and Core Mother of MMPS)

any ipoh mom attending the johnson baby infant massage workshop on this saturday 08/08/2009 at syuen hotel

Daily infant massage can

  • increase baby’s bone mass by 15%;
  • increase his body weight by 47%;
  • strengthen his body’s resistance, and help to build his self-confidence too.
Thanks to Malaysian parents’ support and enthusiasm, the Johnson’s baby TOUCH Infant Massage Workshop Series is back by demand this year.

The workshop series aims to reach out to parents and babies nationwide covering not only information and techniques on infant massage, but also tips and guidance on how to bathe and breastfeed babies, especially for first time parents.

Each workshop will consist of a seminar session led by a consultant paediatrician, and a step-by-step demonstration by qualified trainers on how to bathe and massage your baby.

To participate, register for the ‘Touch’ Infant Massage workshop and pay a RM20 fee per couple, in return for a Johnson’s Baby Oil starter pack worth the same, plus a set of CD and poster on infant massage.

Join us at one of the workshops below: STATE DATE VENUE CLOSING DATE Selangor Sun, 19 July MINES Malaysia International
Exhibition & Convention Centre 15 July Sabah Sun, 26 July Tang Dynasty Hotel, Kota Kinabalu 17 July Melaka Sun, 1 August MITC (Melaka International Trade Centre) 24 July Johor Sat, 2 August The Zon Regency, Johor Bahru 24 July Perak Sat, 8 August Syuen Hotel, Ipoh 31 July Penang Sun, 9 August Bayview Hotel, Georgetown, Penang 31 July Kuala Lumpur Sat, 16 August Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort, Kuala Lumpur 7 August Parents who are interested to participate in any of the workshops can call the toll free enquiry and registration line at 1-300-88-0566 (on weekdays, 9 am – 5 pm).

Veve,

Do you know if there's any other free talks on breastfeeding? If not, I have no choice but go attend the one by Gina.

I think they have early bird discount at RM89.

I have no idea :(
last time it was a baby fair at Midvalley. So consider i'm lucky! :D
Yeah, if no choice then should attend the pay one hehhe.
But i really encourage you to attend breastfeeding seminar to widen the knowledge.
Lucky me and hubbie attended, if not, may be now my baby ended with drinking formula :D
My mom took care of me, and she always worry my baby didn't have enough supply milk, always 'fight' with me to give milk. she gave formula, i gave breast milk.
always said "not enough" .."not enough". but then now.. tha da... my baby is 2.5 mths, and i already can keep about 70 bags of frozen breast milk in the freezer! :D

WOW. 70 Bags?? that's great. I really hope I can be like you. So much milk for the baby. Do you have any special diet, what to eat and what not to eat? What breast pump are you using?

I know there's a baby fair in Mid Valley in May but I'll be busy doing my confinement. :( I'll most probably attend the class. RM89 is not much for my baby's health. :D

Sure u also can like me, but i also not sure what i eat to increase the milk supply :p
I did my confinement (chinese herbs, they said red dates can increase the milk supply, which is unfortunately or course we drink red dates, tang shen everyday as drinking water) then i also consume "daun katuk" supplement (it's indonesia famous herbs to increase milk supply, but then now i HAVE to STOP hohoho..scary later i become Moo Moo)
And twice a day (morning and night before sleep) drinking Milo Gold. that i do because I'm hungry... drinking milk is the easiest.
Then eat like usual.
So dunno which/what i eat that increase my milk supply :D :D
I'm using Medela Mini Electric from the first time. Medela is very good to stimulate the milk supply, but then just now i switch to Medela Swing for my daily usage.

Yes, pay RM 89 is worth it ! :)
