Here's an event organized by Anggugu, a local Chinese breastfeeding forum in conjuction with World Breastfeeding Week (1st to 7th August 2009) . The event will be held on 8th August 2009 & programs for the day are as follows :-

Dear all,

Every year the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) and UNICEF hold what's called the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) during the first week of August to promote breastfeeding the world over. MMPS uses this opportunity to reach out to families by holding the "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" event where mothers breastfeed their babies for one minute together at the same time.

We would like to cordially invite all to join us at our event on 1st August 2009, at Dewan Kuliah A, USM Campus (opposite CIMB bank) from 9.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m., we will have interactive talks on breastfeeding during emergencies as the theme this year is "Breastfeeding: A Vital Emergency Response. Are you Ready?" and games for families. The significant event will be "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" throughout the ENTIRE MALAYSIA. Our Guest of Honour for the day is Mr Youssouf Oomar from UNICEF.

Join us in making history. You can join us at our event venue or join the "One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding" from the comfort of your home.

Now, for those of us not located in Penang, we can do our part by breastfeeding at 10.30am for 1 minute in unity with other moms up & down the country. If you can participate, please email your details (as per above requirement) to Christine of Mamalink at mamalink at streamyx.com latest by 25th July 2009 (Saturday) so that they can send the numbers to the organisers in Penang.

For moms in Kajang area, susuibu will be holding a similar event in Kajang on 9th Aug at Dewan Bandaran MPKJ from 8.30am to 1.30pm

last time it was a baby fair at Midvalley. So consider i'm lucky!
Yeah, if no choice then should attend the pay one hehhe.
But i really encourage you to attend breastfeeding seminar to widen the knowledge.
Lucky me and hubbie attended, if not, may be now my baby ended with drinking formula
My mom took care of me, and she always worry my baby didn't have enough supply milk, always 'fight' with me to give milk. she gave formula, i gave breast milk.
always said "not enough" .."not enough". but then now.. tha da... my baby is 2.5 mths, and i already can keep about 70 bags of frozen breast milk in the freezer!

WOW. 70 Bags?? that's great. I really hope I can be like you. So much milk for the baby. Do you have any special diet, what to eat and what not to eat? What breast pump are you using?

I know there's a baby fair in Mid Valley in May but I'll be busy doing my confinement. :( I'll most probably attend the class. RM89 is not much for my baby's health.

Sure u also can like me, but i also not sure what i eat to increase the milk supply :p
I did my confinement (chinese herbs, they said red dates can increase the milk supply, which is unfortunately or course we drink red dates,tang shen everyday as drinking water) then i also consume "daun katuk" supplement (it's indonesia famous herbs to increase milk supply, but then now i HAVE to STOP hohoho..scary later i become Moo Moo)
And twice a day (morning and night before sleep) drinking Milo Gold. that i do because I'm hungry... drinking milk is the easiest.
Then eat like usual.
So dunno which/what i eat that increase my milk supply
I'm using Medela Mini Electric from the first time. Medela is very good to stimulate the milk supply, but then just now i switch to Medela Swing for my daily usage.

Yes, pay RM 89 is worth it ! :)

Just to share, the Breastfeeding Class by Gina Yong is now at fee : RM 129 (refreshments provided, and a copy of "Got Breast Milk?" Book)
Hubby, Mother or Mother-in-law can attend for free.
If you cannot make it to the class, and also buy a copy of her "Got Breast Milk?" book at RM69.90

The best time to attend is between 5 - 7 months pregnant.
