Hi Evan,

It's ok, I can't PM you too. The cost is inclusive of the baby charges. Delivery is around 3-4K, and the baby charges would be around 1.5K if my memory serves me right. So all in all just under 5k. I stayed 2D/1N and I had epi. But epi charges are not that much (less than 1k), and you must also factor in variable charges like nursing fees, consumables fees etc etc. 5k is just an estimation. Hope this helps.

Just curious what do the baby charges include?

Opps! I can't remember already. But it will include the pead's charges, the rental of bassinet, all consumables related to the babies etc etc. It's pretty std these charges. And they will give you a detailed bill for you to go over, so if you want think the bill is not right, you can highlight it.

I just had my boy delivered at Columbia Asia Puchong via csec, the fee is RM6.5k++ (csec + epidural + 3d2n single room + misc) + RM900++ (baby nursery)....

Hi vv_xoxo,

May I know which Doctor did you visit? So I guess the fee in Columbia Asia Puchong is about RM7.4k?

Thanks.

Hi all,

This is my first pregnancy. Very excited and elated. But confused as to which obgyn/gynae to see/visit. I'm currently seeing/visiting Dr. Kamaljit from Bangsar Women Specialist but I was given to understand that she doesn't deliver baby. So, would want to change my obgyn/gynae to someone who will monitor me from beginning until delivery.

I have done some research and narrowed down 2 hospitals. Assunta and Columbia Asia Puchong. If I choose Assunta, I am thinking to go to Dr. Paul Tay and if I choose Columbia Asia Puchong, Dr. Ng Soon Pheng. I am not too sure on which one of these doctors to choose. Not sure of their experience and etc. I want to do natural birth and breast feed eventually.

Next, my confusion is also caused by the cost factor. I do not want to spend so much on my delivery bills. I am not sure which of these doctors is cheaper. I understand that Dr. Paul Tay also has a clinic in Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) and if I do choose him, will he then tell me to go to PCMC for delivery even if I have been seeing/visiting him in Assunta.

I really need advise in these areas. Been so confused and concerned ohmy.gif unsure.gif Thanks in advance!!!

Hi to all the mummy...

I am a newbie to this forum, last years was overlooking for wedding stuffs and now here I am. laugh.gif

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I dunno which doctor to attend to for my first visit.
I stay in OUG. I have a gynae in Assunta, but I do not like her.
So now that I wish I can get some advice from the experienced mummy here.

As long as they are good and not so expensive, I am willing to travel.
I am looking at Dr. Tang Boon Nee (SDMC), Dr. Paul Tay Yee Siang (Price Court / Assunta).

I plan to get my first visit in this week.
Thank you for mummy who willing to share your info.
Thanks a lot~

hi...

Can you share your experience with Dr Tang from SDMC? I'm planning to see her next week, heard she is pro c-section. Is it true?

Hi dlviera,

I met Dr Tang and I am kinda like her, so I did not to go to see other doctors already.
My next appointment will be next week and I can't wait to see her again.
Although it's my 1st visit early this month but I am able to see my baby's heart beat at 7W5D. It was amazing!
I didn't spent a lot of time with her, but there are the special feeling that she's good gynae.
She will answer all the questions you have.

From what I know in internet that she's good and caring. But I do not know about she's pro in C-section.
This I can't answer you....
She's very popular. So if you wanna see her, it's a first come first serve basis.
You must expect to wait long hours.

Have fun! laugh.gif

Hi,

I'd been a patient with Dr Tang SDMC. Delivered my baby boy under natural method. Am pleased with her but be prepared for the long queue. Well, to avoid disappointment during visits, jot down your questions in a paper and ask her all you want... her visit is normally short and nice. Dun think she is pro in c-sect but her experience in c-sect sure comes in handy should there be any complications in the labour process. Just make sure you clarify with her that you opt for natural delivery... Well, if any doctor trying to coax you to go for c-sect, ask for all the reason behind it...

BTW, am seeing Dr Loo (Columbia Asia Kota Kemuning) due to distance factor. anybody seen her or delivered under her care?? Please share your experience...

I just want to share my experience visiting a gynae in Tmn Desa Medical Centre today. Actually this is the 2nd time I visited this hospital. First time I was at 8 weeks and I visited Dr. Ng Choon Keat as he is the only gynae available at that time. He charge me RM 75 for consultation + ultrasound. Today I am at 15 weeks and I thought I will try another gynae just to compare so I visited Dr. Ong Hean Choon. I understand Dr. Ong Hean Choon is more older and experienced and he also consults at Pantai Bangsar but he had no patients in TDMC anyway. We were the only ones there and he charged me RM 100 for consultation + RM 120 for ultrasound!! I was shocked to see the bill as it was such a vast difference from the last visit. I even asked him how come so expensive for ultrasound cuz I thought ultrasound is standard price charged by the hospital. But he said its not and depends on the experience of the doctor. Some more his ultrasound was a really really old machine compared to Dr. Ng Choon Keat. At least Dr. Ng's ultrasound had a monitor for the mother to see the baby but Dr. Ong's only had one monitor so he showed my husband 1st then only can show me. I won't got to Dr. Ong again eventhough he explained more things to us compared to Dr. Ng because I think he is definately overcharging! I checked with my other friends, even hospitals like Prince Court and SDMC is cheaper than what I paid today!

Just checked at the admission counter at Assunta hospitals, normal delivery 3500 to 4000, not including epi, epi cost 800 - 1000, thought only 400 to 600 as seen from other forums. Going to deliver my little one in assunta too..

Hi,

I have done 3 home pregnancy tests and all came back  positivie.. If all's well I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and I havent done my 1st Check-up? Now, where should I go. Friends and families are making me confused. Some ask me to go Klinik Ibu dan Anak. Some ask me to do normal GP and the rest ask me to go specialist. Where could I get these specialist? I have been googling and reading forum. The closest to me would be Pantai Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur. Would it be too expensive to do check ups in Pantai? or should I go FGMC Jaya One?

Depend on your budget and place you intend to deliver. If you want cheap and almost FREE service but crowded place, go KKIA. GPs especially those with ultrasound will help you decide the correct EDD. Private specialist obviously will have higher cost. Subspecialist like FMGC will definitely incur highest cost as compare like others for just confirming the pregnancy.

No need. But for KKIA at least you must be sure you are pregnant by UPT positive test. Otherwise make yourself like fool if actually you are not pregnant. Of course busy private specialist need appointment first. KKIA / GPs can just walk in. Most specialists accept walk in and confirm the pregnancy for you.
