Aiya nckeat.. am sure the DJ's wife stays in presidential suite which cost few thousands a night la! Also they must be picking those weird auspicious time for delivery where it involved extra charges.

I was wondering whether RM40k delivery can produce a superbaby, one class above than others who can't afford those kind of bill?

Nah.... if like that, then all richman kids must be damn smart lor... while poorman kids will be damn dumb lor...which is not the case... My bro and I r not richman kids and we were borned in some cheapo hospital with the bill of RM10 only. We were fed with cheapo milk like Dutch Lady/Dumex. So what... My bro is a scholar and already a PhD by the age of 27.

I'm just afraid of the whole process so currently it is my choice but i might changed my decision at later date. Do you know any good gynaes in Ipoh? To be honest, I never had good experience with doctors in Ipoh (but not sure about gynae though). I find most good doctors in Ipoh are too busy and business oriented.

dear all, i went for my 37 weeks check up yday.

somehow suddenly i feel anxious and unsure about my gynea.

u girls experienced anything like this before?

my gynea in DSH is a reputable man, and so far hes really good in explaining things to me.

he would normally draw out diagrams for me to understand.

but then again at first he was my second choice. my first was dr guna, but when i was preggie the first 2 mths, he was on long leave and i couldnt wait.

so the nurses recommended me dr siva.

he always ensure me that my pregnancy is perfect and all. he's also a good motivator!

but i have only gone thru one time blood test. just a normal blood test. am thinkin is this enough? i read from the book, what to expect when ur expecting - it says ur supposed to do few tests (those deem necessary) through out first and 2nd tri. but all i get is the normal urine, weight check and BP check.

and he told me that i have gained extra 2 kg (from the normal 12kg), sigh, did i failed him as a patient?

hes a great gynea, without a doubt. he even ensure me that he will be there for my delivery and also gave me his h/p number for just in case scenario.

he also insisted i visit the maternity ward and the labor room yday so i know hows the procedure and everything.

he has also prepared me the pre admin letter, recommend me a pediatrician (dato musa, anyone know if he's good?) and all the nurses seems more than happy to help. but why do i feel the lack of confident suddenly?

The book is written by someone in US. Tests applicable in US may not be applicable here. So not to worry if you have not gone through everything that the book says.

Time flies. You are already 37 weeks now. Already prepared for the baby?

1) Dr Divakaran, Ipoh Specialist

- go early to take a number, say around 815am, else be prepared to wait at least 2hrs in the queue.

2) not sure abt the rest of the hosps, but yes, ISH doesnt allow your partner into the OT.

cheers.

Thank you. Can i just ask if all gynaes dont allocate appointment slot and we have to wait that long even though it is private care?

minnieme,

I encourage you to try vaginal delivery. It recovered faster, less complication in your future pregnancy and you can have more children. I have 3-c sections and one more coming beginning of next year. My doctor told me that I'm in super high-risk category. I'm now scared to death.

I went for monthly check up with Dato Dr. Abdul Aziz Yahya at Prince Court Medical Center.

He is so gentle and friendly. My due date is by the end of this month and i plan to give normal delivery.

So far my monthly checkup fees is just normal like any other hosp. Less then RM200/month, and i xfind

that Prince Court Medical Center only for super rich people.. everyone is paying the same amount so far.

i ll update n tell u guys my bills soon..

Hi, all

Just to share my experience here. I just delivered at QHC. Signed up package for RM2990, natural delivery (3D2N). Finally i go for induction cos already overdue. During my pregnancy, i followed up by Dr Ng. Before that already knew from friend that the gynae deliver for you will depend on who on duty / on call that day. When i deliver that day, both doctors also around. Dr Ng did come for a while. But finally another Dr delivered for me by vacum. After that, he came to my room and told me that my push was very good, however, baby shoulder was stubed and how i push also no use. He try to use his hand also cannot (to explain why he use vacum). The charges for vacum was RM600. Which i not happy was when i go back after one week of delivery for check up, before Dr came to attend to me, saw in my record card that reason for vacum was "poor maternal affort".

Remember on that day, before me also got another case delivery by the same Dr and using vacum also.

Just wonder if they try to make more money by this way!!!

I ended up stayed 4D3N, in twin sharing room, we take the whole room as my husband can accompany me there.Final bill was RM1700++ :sauer2:

Hi, mums to be,

Just want to share my exprience and warned all mum to be out there who want to have a choice of giving natural birth to their babies, nowadays we heard so much that the docs just want to save time and operate all their patients and play god to decide who born first for their own convinience. So be I guess if we have a list of recommended good gynea and obstetn we shaould also be warn of the money craving doc who are out to make maney and not the best interests to patient at heart.

Here goes what happened to me..

I gave birth to my baby on Oct 14 ( ya, u are right hoax into a c-sect by my doc) and I had since the begining of my pregnancy went for a private and a public clinicto do my routine check up as I am already 34 and this is my first baby just to be extra careful. I have since the begining express my intend to have a natural birth to my doc (especially the Private one, as the public kesihatan clinic only nurses make the routine checks). He seem to be all kind, nice and supportive and assure I have a good and normal pregnancy and natural birth is not a problem till the end.

On the 13 Oct I had through the nite show of blood( quite ittle but the contraction is getting stronger), I suspect this was caused by the doc checking me on the nite of 13th inserting his hand in my privates-- so admitted my self to SJMC under my private Gynea, Dr. Mak Foo Sing,( I stayed in Kelana Jaya, so SJMC seems to be a good and nearer choice) he has an private practice in Kuchai Entreprenuer Park, I was admitted at approc 9am++ ( with a dialation of approx 3 cm) and till 7pm (Dilation of 9cm ++) I was still in labour with epidural, the doc came to hospital at 4.30pm only my water bag still intacted and he pocked it to broke (without my consent) it at abt 6pm+ and then he performed a episiotomy on me i saw him make a cut at my privatehe checked and told me the baby head then he suggest by 7pm if still the baby head is high that I should went for c-sect, came 7pm he check and told me the baby head still high and kept pushing me to sign for c-sect.

I demand for more time and he waited till 7.30pm and started making remarks like baby under distress, head still high, heart beat dropping and he scare see my hairy private and even put a blanket over me. Suddenly the evil side of him all came out so totally unprofessional and making inedequate remarks and make me and my hubby (first time parent panic) at 7.45 I finally gave in as I was unble to think straight as he kept saying that if the baby heart beats dropped further then only I agreed to oprerate then it will endanger the baby. As for the episoitomy I did not knoe if he stiched me up down there or not???!! (I have called the hospital to checked, and wating for their reply)

I was push out of the opt theater by 9pm and immediately felt so helpless and sad of agreeing the opt and thinking back I could have in my right mind may demand for another doc for opinion or even replaced of this stupid doc. As I repeat my exprience with my grandma, my mum, aunties, cousins they all told me I could have had my baby naturally I given more time and with my waterbag in tacked my baby will not be in danger just need monitoring.

So I ended up hoaxed into be cut up, paying extras and feeling depress for such unprofessional and unethical practice by this doc, so be warned. To add to that my hubby saw in the ward nursing counter all patients under this same doc who are admitted on the same day were operated (name of patient with a 'c' marked behind names, including mine) including me all 3 of us so he is making the call and hoax patient to opts to save time and make money.

I have been crying as I now felt to have cope with the extras for the bills (Total bills 3days 2 nite, RM8.5

K) and knowing this blodding doc unethical calls that caused me to decide for operation and massed up my state of mind and mess up my entire post natal plan made during pregnancy just be caued of his greed and unethical opinions.

I practically cursed him everyday now.

So good luck to all mums to be, my advise know your right and kick the fxxking doc out if they mistreated you and demand for 2nd opinion no matter what.

Cindy Ng

nckeat, million thanks. Your explaination better than my gynea. Actually, I also worry about my thin uterus at the scar region. My doctor said this baby have to be delivered early (not more than 37th weeks) to aviod rupturing of the uterus.

alyceyong, congrats to your cousin. I hope I am as lucky as your cousin.

There could be risk of rupture of uterus but that only happen if you are in active labour (your uterus already contracting). So the timing of delivery will be about 37-38th week.

However this risk looks benign compare to placenta accreta / percreta which stuck at the scar and cannot be separated.

Hi nckeat,

Are you a dr or a mother? You seems to know alot about medical stuffs?
