san2010,

congrats u, me & jessie all about the same time :)

sorry i'm not familiar with Hospital Sentosa. I'll be heading to Sunway Medical to do a checkup next week though.

is your bleeding heavy until soaking ? red or brown in colour ?

According to my GP if its heavy and brown in colour you need to go to a doc immediately to ensure everything is alright but if its just spotting (not soaking your panty until needs pantyliner) then you should be alright.

once in a while i'm spotting too but its a very mild ones and i'm monitoring myself if its soak then i will go to a doc immediately.

jessie,

mine's kan cheong too but as he does alot of reading it helps for him to know not to over stress me up also ... Infact he is more worried if i'm at the stanchart run where i could easily be hurt while he is in the run with so many people around. He say in the baby event at least i'm with mothers and parents so i'm in a safer and protected enviroment.

where do you stay ? wanna chat more in gmail or facebook ?

hihi,

i found red spot in late evening and the nxt day morning so i immediately go and c doctor. Doctor give me some medicine and injection to stable it, but after i left the clinic, my pad was full and overflow.. i was so shock.. i went to c doctor again the nxt day morning, do varginal scan, luckily still got heart beat but found blood clot nxt to fetal. so doctor give me one week MC to rest at home. my friend who hv exp in this before say better dun walk up and down staircase too much and jz rest...

after a week, today i went to c doc again, no bleeding d but still need to be caution till stable..

huh... hope everything so smooth..

hi guys, I am currently 6 weeks preg and planning to do my first visit to gynae next week. I have chosen to go SDMC and look for Dr. Tan. Before that, may I know is there any members have experience with SDMC before? How much they normally charge per visit and how much I expect to pay if I want to have to whole process done in SDMC ? Will it costs me more than RM10k? or should be around RM8k like others? Please share with me if any. Thank you very much.

Each check up is bout rm120 depending on dr with ultrasound n consulattion. I with dr lee say fatt sdmc n edd on 29jan2012,my 2nd pregnancy.my first csec delivery with dr Lee cost rm7500 for 3d2n including Bb charges in single room.not sure bout dr tan but he seems very bad temper according to member here in this thread I think page 16 or17

Hi mums and mums-to-be

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and went to see Dato Dr Ang Chin Guan of SDMC (Subang) based on a friend's recommendation.

I have search the entire 23 pages of the forum and couldn't find any comments on him. Anyone has any experience to share?

I also saw lots of good comments on Dr. Loo of Columbia Asia Bukit Rimau. Might consider switching if I am not comfortable with Dr. Ang during my second visit.

Couldn't pm you about dato dr Ang maybe you disable the pm

Just went for my 1st consultation with Dr Loo. Agree with Lolopi, she is a caring, patient and very good natured person (she was very enthusiastic during my session eventhough she had 20 patients before me). Went on a tour of the hospital and the maternity ward looks very clean and bright.

Would like to know about consultation charges - mine was RM40.00 ofr equipment (was also given a copy of the u/s scan photo), RM51.00 for dr's consultation, RM5 for hospital administrative charges. Is that the usual? I heard of ppl paying more up til RM200 per session and some only RM75.00.

Hi babyeclipse, being first time, do you have to make an appointment to see Dr. Loo? Do you see Dr. Loo at your earlier pregnancy stage - 2 months?

Thanks :)

Hi Jessie,

Sorry for the late reply. Haven't log into MB for quite some time. I called up to know the clinic hours for Dr Loo. Just decide what time you want to go and be prepared to wait. My 1st consultation took me 2 hours waiting, while my 2nd consultation took only 1 hour waiting. She is very popular. Just bring a bottle of water and maybe snacks to wait. My husband usually brings his IPAD to wait with me.

hi,

i would like to find out if anyone has gone to Dr. Guna (D'sara Specialist Hospital, PJ)? the comments i've seen in this forum so far about him is that he's good...that's all...i would very much appreciate if someone can elaborate to me in details if they have experience with Dr. Guna..coz to be honest, i'm abit disappointed...he doesn't say much, very soft spoken..if i don't ask, he doesn't tell & his answers are very very brief...

i've gone to Dr. Tang Boon Nee (SDMC, Subang) & i like her very very much (she's very very detailed & tells me alot of things) but SDMC is very far frm my hse, that's y i thought of giving Dr. Guna a try...

really hope someone can share with me their experience of Dr. Guna as their gynae, TQ in advance :)

Dr. Kim Wong has always been my gynae - from previous years for pap smear, consultation on women's health. Her clinic at Centre Point is very convenient for me. Since now I am pregnant, I carry on with her (all my records are there).

I am 6 Weeks and 5 Days pregnant when I discover I was bleeding (after wiping my bottom). I went to see her the same afternoon. I got a jab and Duphaston. Since this is my first time, I admit I am worried and hope the little one will survive. I am given 3 days MC (wed, thurs, fri,) Monday I go back to work. The scan (this is also my 1st u/s. scan) shows a small sac and a black dot. The other areas are filled with fluid. There is some bleeding occurring inside.

This morning, there was a piece of tissue on my pad. Bleeding is still on going - but not super heavy flow. I use pantiliner. Is fresh red blood. I have discomfort and minor cram but is not that bad. I've taken 2 tab of Duphaston so far.

Any pointers to share?

Y3N,

congrats on your pregnancy ! there is a thread for Mom to be 2012 so you might want to join us there ?

I've heard dr Kim is good but seriously if the bleeding does not stop after 3 days i would seek a 2nd opinion.

you mention there is a black dot is this the blood or something else ? For me when i did my u/scan on my 7th week my doc see a patch where he mention is blood and fibroid and thus i was given Duphaston as well but at that time i dont have any spottings or bleeding. Prior to visit him, i had about 5 days where i was having light spotting (it doesn't soak the pad or no pad is require type)

i was told my by GP to immediately seek a gynae if its soaking as it can be dangerous. Did you call Dr Kim to check again if you need to go back to see her if bleeding does not stop ?

hope and pray yours are not serious.

Thank you so much for replying. I'll join the Mom to be 2012 thread after this.

I am to see Dr. Kim on Saturday morning for follow up.

As of now, the bleeding has stop - just 1, 2 dots of blood. It has been 28hrs since I saw Dr. Kim with 1 jab (in the butt) and 2 Duphaston pill taken. I hope this is a good sign. The stomach discomfort is still there. I sleep. Walk downstairs to eat. Sitdown to surf the net. That is all. NO more walking the dog, carry heavy things. I am an active person and do everything at top speed. Now, I walk and move like a tortoise.

The sac and black dot was seen during U/C. Because of the fluid inside, it was not very clear. Saturday I will do another U/C.

Thank you. I pray that is not serious too and I hope there is a 2nd chance for this little one to carry on.

See you later at Mom to be 2012 thread.

its mean a while no discuss on Dr Eee from Pertama Clinic.

Just accompanied my friend to do a regular check-up last month.

Dr Eee & Dr Edmund (night shift) shared the same clinic, and deliver in Pantai Cheras.

A lot of patients waiting for him when i arrived, need to wait nearly 20 patients.

But normally he is very fast, average is 5 mins per numbers.

So after take a number, just eat at the nearby restaurant.

Hi all,

I am now 6-7 weeks pregnant and just had my first visit to TMC's Dr Aldrin Lie as one of the TMC clinic is just nearby my area. I wonder if he is any good? He was quite gentle but kinda strict looking as well. He also prescribed me with Duphaston and Folic Acid. Is Duphaston any safe for pregnant women? I searched online and some countries have stopped the usage of this med due to the ineffectiveness of this med.

Please advice as I am a first time mommy. Thanks in advance!

Dear All,

I'm a bit confused whether to switch my gynae now (I'm 4 mths now). I'm currently visiting Dr. Edmund Lai from Cheras and the nurses told me that we can opt to deliver at his clinic or Pantai Cheras. However, my mum says it's not so good to deliver at the clinic and Pantai Cheras doesnt seem very appealing especially with some negative response from other ppl.

If I were to switch my gynae now, I wouldn't know which gynae to go. I would like to try gynaes in sunway but location wise it is not preferable. Is delivering in Gleneagles very pricey?

homeofbeauties

if you are not comfortable with Dr Edmund then you can opt to change of course.

cant comment on Gleneagles but as long as you find a doc and venue that you are comfy to give birth in thats all that matters. There is no right or wrong in all these.

I chose the venue where i want to give birth before looking for a doc at that specific hospital so my choice is made up at the very beginning.

I delivered under dr. edmund as well, in pantai cheras, as i live near there.. monthly checkup was ok to me.. the assistant (ms. anna i think) is quite good to me.. always give free samples and goody bag.. about pantai cheras, i dunno about others, i was like u also lastime, i was a bit reluctant to deliver in pantai cheras, but i still go for it, coz it's near my house, and that's the place location already.. and i told myself, there will always be different comments and individual opinions everywhere one.. so i went ahead, and now, my kid is 3 months +, and i give thumbs up for both dr. edmund and pantai cheras.. to me, kira ok liao..

i got slight spotting one morning (my due date is 1 week later), then i went to pantai to see dr. edmund, the nurse asked me to go in immediately, althought i was not the 1st patient to arrive.. then dilated 1cm, prepared for admission.. hubby did all the admission, while i get ready to go into the labour room.. no complaints from him.. admin. side ok.. as for me, there was a nurse attending to me until i went into the labour room, very good service.. she explained what r the things to expect, what she will do to me, why, etc.. and once reached inside the labour room, 3-4 nurses took turns to come inside and monitor me and baby's heartbeat.. i was in labour for 8 hours, and during the 8 hours, there were 3-4 nurses monitoring me (2 shifts, as i was admitted in the morning, i gave birth in evening), all very polite and good manners wor, and they kept encouraging me..

so just to share with u only.. it depends on u also la.. like where u live, and other factors.. for me, i choose pantai coz near my mum's house..

Hi all, I'm having 5 weeks pregnancy now. It is my first pregnancy!!!

I would like to share my experience with Klinik Pakar Wanita Loh ( located at same row with King Crab, PJ). This is my first ever visit after GP confirmed my pregnancy yesterday.

I went to see Dr Loh Khee Feei today in the evening. He were out when hubby & I arrived there at 6.15pm. He returned from outside around 20 minutes later. There was 2 couples waiting after me.

Overall, he seems to be a bit impatient & wanted to finish the process fast. At the beginning, I told him I'm pregnant and at the same time I'm having CHICKEN POX ( Yes, it's chicken pox!!! ). He asked a few question about food & medication allergy, then he did vagina scan as he said my baby is still very small. We were very excited to see the small little cute dots appears on the screen. (Life is so amazing isn't?! )

After that, doctor asked me don't have to worry much on the chicken pox matter because I'm on the early stage on pregnancy, it only will have 1-2% to affect the baby ( Congenital Varicella Syndrome). He advised to visit him 2 weeks later to check whether the baby is ok or not. He also mentioned every pregnancy will have it's own risk with or without chicken pox, it's all destiny. :) He asked us to pray everything is fine on the baby. Any problem will only can be diagnose after 20 weeks of pregnancy. I initiate to asked him what kind of food to avoid. ( He didn't advise what are the Do's & Don'ts ).

At last, we came out from doctor's room, the receptionist asked me to weight, then she recorded it. (Btw, she only understand simple English, better speak Malay with her, she is quite friendly). My bill was RM100 include consultation + vagina scan + Folic Acid + Vitamin B.

Anyone of you also visit the same clinic? Mind to share as well ?! Price of RM100 is it consider reasonable ?!

Hi,

I think RM100 is consider ok. I had my first visit in Columbia Asia Puchong with Dr Ng Soon Pheng, total bill is RM133 (Vaginal scan -rm70 + consultation rm 60 +admin fee rm3). But no doubt, he is a very good doc-patient (will answer all your questions with smiling face and even ask me got anymore question), caring, gentle and professional. 2 thumbs up!

Hi,

I'm having my first pregnancy found out from Clearblue pregnancy test last week. (I consider it has 99% accuracy)

My preferred location of gynae should be around PJ radius, better to be near home.

Was so restless to do all the research online and found some good comments about Dr. Guna at DSH, a very knowledgeable, recommended doctor and reasonable price! Just so perfect!

I quickly called up DSH and make a trip to the hospital the next morning!

Finally reached there, I was so excited when it was my turn to enter the consultation room but I was surprised the consultation and ultrasound scanning time is less than 10 minutes! Is that normal?

I was only told that my pregnancy is 5 weeks old, some general foods advise, allergies advice and asked to go for a blood test before seeing him again next.

So I try to find out when shall I come back again for next appointment before head off to pharmacy to get a duphalac syrup and the blood test lab.

Then I just went to get my bill, TOTAL AMOUNT RM309 (consultation $150, procedure $120, registration $15 & pharmacy $24). Not inclusive of blood test yet!

I was super surprised with that 10 minutes service & that kind of charges too!

Funny is that I have to find out delivery due date from babycenter.com's calculator and not from Doctor! :D

Just thought of sharing my fresh from oven experience here. :)

Cheers!

hi Raynebaby,

Hi all, I am currently 16 weeks pregrant and with Dr. Ng from Columbia Asia Puchong. The doctor is nice but the only one problem is quite pricey

Just wondering is the equipment charges is compusary for every visit? I been charged for RM80 (1st visit) & RM70 (2nd visit). My total statement is around RM150 included doctor consultation and medication for both visit

My friend who just deliver at Sunway Medical told me her monthly checkup fees is only around RM60. Compare with mine, is much and much more cheaper... I am thinking is that a good choice to change to Sunway Medical? Shall I change to Sunway Medical instead?

I am totally lose now. :( Appreciate someone can share the experience and advise me

Hi Lala_milo,

So did you visit Sunway Med? If yes, can share with me the checkup charges? I am also Dr Ng's client and the equipment charges is Transvaginal scan =RM70 and ultrasound scan = RM80 , consultation RM60 (for 1st and 2nd) but 3rd time was RM90.
