Hi Everyone!

Anyone has had any experience with Dr. George Chan from Fatima Hospital in Ipoh? I've heard he's pretty good with C-Secs and a very patient man. Any comments?

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas y'all!

hi genielee_83,

when i was resting at hometown during preggie, i used to visit Dr Foo Kok Cheng (hope my spelling is correct) in Ipoh (my obgyn is in PJ). his clinic is near Pantai Hospital. his equipments are quite canggih & he seems quite a nice person (but his nurses are rude :p). maybe you can give him a try & see you like him or not? i am sorry i dont have the no already so cant share with you.

good luck!

hi, can try out Dr. Diva from Ipoh Specialist Hospital. He is very gentle, patient and softspoken. I had my 1st baby natural delivery by him. I am now 2nd pregnancy also visiting him whenever i am back ipoh (i am working in Selangor). I planned to deliver in Ipoh.

Hi,

Just to share wit you...I'm currently visiting Dr.Loo @ Tmn Desa Medical Centre. Initially I'm seeing Dr.Tang but have change to Dr.Loo as both of them are actually partners & found out that Dr.Loo timing is more suitable for me as Dr.Tang only duty @ Tmn Desa every Wed 2-5pm & she has alot of patient, everytime i went there around 1pm, i'm taking no:19 & will only see her @ about 5pm which is the last few patient then dr.tang change me to dr.loo cos the date that i want is not her duty day..Dr. loo is full time in tmn desa & her duty is frm 9-5pm (except wed 9-12.30, thrus only 4 operation & alternate sat 2-5pm)

I normally reach the hospital around 8am & will get no.1-3 & will finish my consultation latest by 9-9.30 depending the number i take. Dr.loo is very patient & i have hypertension after pregnancy & she will give me the best advice for my bb & me...my last visit i'm having flu & cough, dr. advise me not to take medication but opt for tradition way like having more vit-c & try drinking warm honey lemon. If my cough become worst then only take medication.

Well for your information, althought the hospital not so presentation on the outlook but i have 3 friends who have delivered in the same hospital say their service are not bad & their price is not to pricey too....my regular check up fee is RM60 for consultation but due to i have medication my bill normally around 120-130 & i will get a picture of my bb but i've check my bill, they do not charge me for the photo.

I was seeing Dr Eugene... He is a very good doctor, caring and frenly... Just tat the equipments at UMSC are a bit outdated... He cant confirm my baby's gender at my 25th week after the 4th scanning... I was very disappointed... and he tried to do the 3D or 4D (dont know is which) and I can only see something like sahara desert... he has to explain which is eyes, nose and lips... i cant see anything...

I went to Dr Ng Soon Pheng today at Columbia... I am very impressed with the service... Nurses very frenly and polite, Dr Ng is also a nice chap... He did scanning and I know my baby gender alredi... now I am at my 28 weeks... imagine knowing ur baby's gender so late! then he did the 3D or 4D scan and I can see my baby's face so clearly without Dr explaning... and baby's liver, stomach, the heart 4 chambers... I so happy tat I cried there seeing my baby's face...

So I decided to deliver at Columbia under Dr Ng instead...

i went to dr kim wong before. i wouldnt recommend her at all.
she is impatient and doesnt like to explain anything at all.
she just gave me an impression that she cant wait to get rid of me so she can proceed to her next patient. i just think it was really terrible that have a doctor like that.
i will never go back to her

Hi Wick,

reading your blog, OMG...feel sad to hear that ur gynae abandoned...
my have such experience before, but not my 1st gynae faulth, he got no choice...
Is just about 2-3 more weeks for me to deliver, my professional and well-known Dr Jeremy passed away, that time i'm really feel so sad that the best gynae passed away and at the same time i'm struggling on looking for new gynae. Finally, i got Dr Wong Sum Keong from Pantai Bangsar. He is good also, but busy. However, i'd save delivery under him. I feel secure under his guide, so i receommend him to my SIL.

Sad part is, during my SIL delivery on January. OMG, gynae not around and is the nurse who help out of deliver for my SIL pushing 1 hour and then the gynae come over...can you imagine that. And yet, the stupid nurse take out the epidural last minutes whereby my SIL sudden pain and need to face all the sudden. Although Dr Wong warn the nurse that she shouldn't did that but as a gynae, he should be there at the 1st place.

This really dissappoint me. For my 2nd conceive, i'll never look for Dr Wong anymore. I'll choose gleneagle whereby price actually is cheaper than Pantai Bangsar and gynae there are experience.

Jerlysene,
It's ok, just need some feedback. laugh.gif
Btw, i went to see him yesterday already, very informative, humurous & friendly Dr. I happened to chat with his patient, who is also an ex-Assunta nurse with a urologist consultant, it's her 3rd pregnancy, all under Dr Liew. She said he is an experience and locale Dr in Assunta, considered the best and he promotes natural birth... She assured me that I got the 'right' O&G.... wub.gif
Average waiting time per patient is around 15-20 minute. 'Q' was long but Assunta appt system is pretty effective, u just need to be there at the time allocated. From registration to bill payment, it was around 1 hour plus, and i was the 4th patient.
Dr. Liew was very clear & precise, he asked me few questions like when was my last menstrual period, how many days per cycle, allergies, drew and explained to me ovulation cycle, informed me the do's & don'ts about pregnancy, supplements for pre-TTC period. Such as
DON'TS
1. no RAW food
2. no cigarette & alcohol
3. no herbs
4. no canned food
5. no preserved food
6. cut down on caffein, if can totally eliminate

Do's
1. eat more fresh fruits & vege
2. eat more balanced diet
3. take supplements eg. Folic acid, vit A,C,E (Which he asked me to get from outside pharmacy, cheaper... tongue.gif )
4. drink more milk.
5. live a normal life loh....

He did a normal gynae check-up on me, eg pelvis exam & ultrasound, breasts exam & PAP SMEAR. All in was RM188. I think the price is ok..... right?!

I've seen Dr Loo during the first 2 months of my pregnancy and one of my friend's gave birth thru her. She is really patient and caring. Unfortunately, Taman Desa is not a very good hospital. The friend of mine who recently gave birth there thru C-Sec, do not really have a pleasant experience. She met with the wrong anesthesist. She was prescribed 3 times of painkillers but twice of it was overlooked. It was only found out when Dr Loo went to check out on her. According to Dr Loo, she is really tough to be able to stand the pain for so long. Then, Dr Loo prescribed her double shot of painkillers to ease her pain.

i m visiting Dr Liew for my whole pregnancy check up. i can say he was a good dr and he will not ask patient to do unnecessary checking which cost much.
but i didnt give birth under him because i choose to go HKL after i know i need to go for c-sec with breech position.

now i m thinking of going to a doc to do pap smear , still thinking which doc to go? do we need to go back to our gynae during preggie?
