agyy 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2010 Ya, correct. There's no perfect insurance in the world. I'm using ING. The reason I choose ING bcos it covers more hospitals & specialists (Cashless) if compared to other brand insurance.
suevian 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2010 I'm a Prudential agent, definately you will say I will pro to Prudential. As Shaun say, there is no best insurance, this month maybe Prudential will be the best, but in next month, GE will launch a new medical plan, become the best and so on with other companies. Most important is when you are investing in a medical plan or any form of insurance (inclusing housing MRTA), disclosed all the medical history to the ins company to avoid any dispute claim in future. There are cases in rejecting claim for MRTA due to non-disclosure of fact. Actually is not the client fault, is the bank staffs does not ask the questions. Second is "agent", a responsible and sincere agent will help you lots. On the other hand, a irresponsible agent can make your life miserable especially when comes to claim. suevian 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2010 A plan from Prudential "Pru Senior Med" is suitable for Senior Citizen, covers up to age 80. However there are pros and cons in this plan. Please provide me ur email, I'll email the brochure for your reference. Besides Pru Senior Med, Prudential also have a medical plan name "Pru-health", but is an Investment Link plan. The premium is expensive, which I personally think is quite costly compared to Pru Senior Med. I join in this forum is not to get any sales. Therefore, I would like to give some advice on the others alternative. Currently in the market, there are also medical plans from GE, AIA offered to senior citizens age 65, last entry age is age70, just I'm not sure it is a investment link plan or standalone plan. My advise is not to have any investment link medical plan for senior citizen, as is not worth and expensive.
suevian 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2010 Shaun,Forgot to ask you, why you plan to have a "Life Insurance" for senior citizen? In my opinion, the only insurance should be given for senior citizen is "Medical Card", not Life Insurance. Unless, you are worried of the cost in future when they are no longer. Otherwise, Life Insurance is no need for senior citizen.
wsyrinrin 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2010 There is no BEST insurance... or you may put it in this way ==> with the lowest premium with the highest coverage then could be the BEST...

mokkf82 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2010 I'm Pru Link customer and i bought it solely because of relatives. But i do found it okay with both insurance and medical card they provide and i'm satisfy. However, they are right, there are no finest or the best insurance plan. Just which plan that suits you the most. So choose which suit you the most and pls do not compare! Insurance plan nowadays change so frequent.

Because this is the only plan available at that time. Is okay to maintain this plan, just your agent need to look closely on this investment link account when age is near to 60. If you are type of person love figures, take out your mom policy, read the page which contain Insurance Charge, you can see the medical card insurance charge is increase every year, same with insurance charge for others benefits. Assume you are paying RM3K per year, the exact insurane charge is only RM2K, so the balance of RM1K will be allocate to buy investment units, which is the cash value. At age 60, you are still paying RM3K, but the insurance charge is RM4K, so the difference of RM1K who will paid? At this time, the cash value you have accumulated previous years will be ulitized to cover the shortage. If cash value is not sufficient, then you will rcv a letter from Pru to increase premium :P. This is the points I want to highlight why Senior Citizen is not encourage to buy investment link plan because the years to accumulate cash value is short. However, if age is young, investment link plan is good to have, more times to accumulate cash value, premium cheap with more benefits. Look at the Pru annual statement, check what is the "Cash Value" now. I'm not sure how much you pay, my mom is RM213/mth with only RM10K on death/TPD and Medical Card Annual Limit is RM62,500 only. No critical illness and accident. Every year I will check my mom account, is the cash value sufficient to cover. Do not cancel your mom medical card even other agent tell you theirs is how good, superb good. Cause at this age, is extremely hard to get a medical card. Pru Senior Med is good for senior citizen age 55 and above. However, is all depends on what is the needs, aim. By the way, I will not email you the PSM cause not allow you to switch plan...haha, just kidding, email to you soon.

Cover until age 100 next birthday. Try to get quote from AIA, tell them only pure life. As I know, AIA pure life is quite cheap. Besides that, is your mom current health is OK? Any person with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and any illness is extremely hard to get a insurance expecially elder.
