Winds 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2010 I have been having dandruff problems for years even after trying various types of shampoos. I wouldn't want to have flakes appearing on my hair during my big day .I read from the net that many people recommended Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo. Does anyone know where can I get this shampoo? I'm from Penang.

jean_jj 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2010 Or else u could try Nizorol, u need to get it from the chemist. Or u need to understand why you have dandruff, is it too oily, too dry or stress related or the use of wrong shampoo?
Winds 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2010 Hi Jean_jj... thanks for the recommendation. Is Nizorol something like medicated shampoo? Can it be used daily? Actually my hair is kind of oily type. Shampoos that I have tried so far are H&S, Pantene, Clear, Tresemme but the problem still remains. Previously I was using H&S Intensive Solution and it kinda improved but this product is no longer available

Winds 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2010 Hi tinkerbelle,I'm currently trying out selsun as recommended by csc as it is easily available. I've just used a few times so can't really see the effect yet. Previously someone recommened kerastase to me too, but I do not know where to purchase it in Penang. I asked around a few salons but still couldn't get it.
csc 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 Hi! if ur dandruff is severe perhaps u should consult dermatologist. for selsun shampoo, u can try the following method:1) use warm water to rinse hair and massage the scalp2) apply selsun shampoo on scalp and massage it to let it absorb3) leave it on at least 5 minutes4) rinse it then u can try to apply other shampoo for ur hair only (other shampoo better dont touch the scalp)u can use selsun shampoo few times for the first 2 weeks. if it getting better u can apply once or twice a week. jean_jj 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 Hi Winds,Sorry for the late reply, didn't check the thread for a while. Just to reply ur question, when i first started using nizorol, i use it alternate day (coz i wash my hair on alternate basis). Nizorol sort of minise the dandruff after my 2nd use (70% lesser as compare to previously) only on the first week i use every alternate day. After that I use use it once a week. The rest of the days I just use other shampoo. u should not really use it everyday after that coz the chemist told me it would make the hair too dry if use it everyday for too long. Anyway, just like CSC mention, after u apply the shampoo u need to leave it for 2-3 mins for the scalp to absorb. Or if u have itchy scalp with danruff, you can try using this leave on treatment from Keraste - http://www.kerastase.com.au/products/speci...-purifiant.aspx - you can get it from saloon which carries keraste or try the lowyat forum, i saw ppl selling there cheaper than saloon. I got this from a saloon, can't remember how much it cost exactly around RM120 :P if not mistaken. For this, u need to wash the hair, when it's about 70-80% dry, apply the "lotion" to the scalp and massage few seconds. and it sorta fight off the dandruff immediately!! Oh yah forgot to mention it stop the itchiness as well.On normal days I am currently using this shampoo that I bought from SHINS http://www.carlton-cosmetics.com/engl/012.php Though it's meant for volume, but i find that it cleanses the hair quite well and it's mild enough for everyday use. and it's able to help to clean up the excess oil from scalp. Just finished my 1st bottle and I think i am going to get the 2nd bottle. (this is good for maintenance after the dandruff is gone)
fluffybaileys 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2014 Herbal mask based on traditional medication is getting popular nowadays and many treatment centers have opened. Cleanses the scalp of oil and impurity and restore the function of the scalp and makes the hair soft. But is expensive. Nevertheless, because of the demand, it is now also available as a DIY home remedy at a fraction of the price. jb025070 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 You can use branded shampoo and conditioner or you can also use homely remedies like: 1) you can use mustard oil on your hair. 2) you can use curd on your hair and keep it for half hour and then wash your hair. Curd is the best medicine for hair and after washing your hair will be smooth and silky. If you are having some other issue about your hair problem then you can consult the doctor. davinamartin 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2023 Persistent dandruff can be frustrating, but there are potential solutions. Consider trying anti-dandruff shampoos with active ingredients like zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, or selenium sulfide. Additionally, consult a dermatologist who can assess your specific situation and recommend personalized treatments to address your dandruff before your big day.
