spaces 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 any other models to recommend? we hold back the renovation on our wet kitchen so that we have more time to survey around. There are 2 types of hoods....venting and non-venting.Venting means the air is drawn out through ducts to the exterior of the house, non-venting means the air is recirculated. Factors to consider:a. Type of cooking you dob. Type of hob you havec. Can your kitchen accommodate it?d. Budgete. Extraction powerExtraction power of the fan is important!! If it's too low, then the hood may not be able to extract the smoke and smell and it may linger in the kitchen while you cook...anything above 1000 cubic meters is ok. Also, what kind of filters does it come with? The best would be a charcoal filter, but you'll need to check. I know that for venting hoods, you can actually purchase an external charcoal filter, but i'm not sure if they have this in KCH. Bear in mind that some places in KCH do charge you for installation...so maybe you need to check before purchasing. Also, regular maintenance is essential for the hood to perform optimally. If you have a designer/carpenter, you can also consult with them as your choice will also affect how the cabinetry looks in the end. Hope this helps! Kathlynn 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 Hi. I recently got myself a hood (860m3) & hod (3 burner) from HomeDec fair. Brand is Bosch. For RM1700. Still wondering if it is a good deal as I know that Bosch kitchen hood & hob is not very popular here in Msia. Its German tech, but assembled in China. I presume most of the Western brands are assembled this way anyways. Also, I got a nice lil oven (happiness) from Bosch! Hopefully it’s a good brand for oven, coz I wanna bake, bake, bake! :)

marryhim 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2010 Thanks ZunZhine. In terms of look, i like it quite a lot. In terms of functionality, I hope it works the way the SA explained to me. Easy to maintain, easy to clean, most importantly it really can suck out all the smoke while i'm cooking. Price wise, I'm quite satisfied with the deal.
