Both hotel price is the same, rm1588++ for year 2008. Compare between both hotel, in term of ballroom, westin has only 1 ballroom and is newest, min 30 tables as this hotel been in malaysia for 3 years only, mandarin has 2 ballroom - grand ballroom & junior ballroom and been in kl almost 10 years ++ & mandarin will assign the junior ballroom to me but the ballroom max is 30 tables, it will be very fit and the ballroom & system is not as new as westin. Compare onfood, i been mandarin ballroom dinner few times, the food is ok, but dont know how the food at westin, anyone try before? good or bad? Refer to the menu, westin menu quiet special, they mix in between chinese & westin food, quiet unique. Mandarin food is more on traditional chinese food Compare on service, i know mandarin service is good..............how about service at westin, anyone know? I am quiet lucky bcs there is wedding funtion on last sat during my ballroom investigation at mandarin & westin, i can see how they settle up on my actual day. Hi Ailee, I'm thinking of looking at the same places too. Have obtained quote from Mandarin Oriental. Will you be able to send me your quotation from Westin? And the name and email address of the contact person? My email is joyzee@gmail.com Thanks for your help!

Hi both of you - I've alredy booked my reception (Jan 08) soemwhere else, but my cousin had hers at Westin and whilst I didn't attend ( I live overseas), my mum who has been to both Westin and Mandarin said that the food and decor at Westin was a lot better. Its quite modern with fusion cuisine, so if you and your FH are traditional, it may not be what you are after
FutureBride_2B 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2007 Did any of you held the wedding in Mandarin Oriental?? I was thinkin of having my wedding there.. But the Sales person told me that the main ballroom minimum must have 80 tables, if you are less than 80 tables, you need to pay surcharge for it for almost 25k??? Anyone of you facing this problem before?Pls advise..
