Pre diabetes or not?

Hi,

 

I have previously had some higher than normal fasting bs and had a1c of 6.0 so occasionally I check my bs after eating to learn what to avoid. I have lost 5lbs which isn’t s lot but I am 6’3” 186 and run 15-20 miles a week so I thought this may trend the numbers lower. After eating a hotdog and piece of coffee cake, I had a bs196 at 1 hour and bs174 at 2 hours pp. I have been religious about avoiding carbs but made a Thanksgiving exception. I really am hesitant to go to my GP Dr. because I don’t want to be a hypochondriac and have my Dr. say it’s nothing. Is continuing to monitor this damaging?
