chewwy 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 I used to see Dr Chow during my teenage years. He's good, but I find it quite expensive. Futhermore, it's quite inconvenient to make appointment as it only open half day in the Pudu clinic. Recently I went to see another clinic which was recommended by my friend. I find it quite good and also not that expensive. After 4 consultation, my skin now improve quite alot. He has 2 types of medication, severe one & the mild one. I took the mild one which cost RM90 (inclusive of consultation fee). My friend told me that the severe one costs more than RM200, but of course the effect is much better & faster. I din take it as the dr said i gotta stop the medication for 2 months before planning to get pregnant. Also, it tends to make the lips dried and chapped. If u r interested, here's the contact details:Ranjit Skin Specialist Laser & Hair ClinicC4, Jalan SS15/4D47500 Subang Jaya(Maybank row near Metropolitan College)Tel: 03-5631 6090 (By appointment)Mon, Tue, Fri : 9.00am-5.00pmWed: 9.00am-7.30pmThu: 9.00am-1.30pmSat: 9.00am-4.00pmLunch: 1.00pm-2.00pm

Lil' Angel 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 kjoanne79,I second blurcheryl & ljamie's recommendation. I go to Dr Chow as well. He's very good and sometimes find him quite humorous.I've seen him for 2 different kind of skin problems at different occasions. The medicine works well and his diagnosis is very good.
wye_ee 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 it looks like dr chow is quite famous :) i agree that his charges is a bit on the high side but bear in mind his medication is very effective and yet mild. usually 2 visits will solve your skin problem. i have been to another skin clinic located near imbi (also very famous), charges cheaper but i have to go back there like for few times and yet my problem is not solve. my skin become nice after using his medication but the moment i stop i will end up with the same prob again. there was once the doc gave me the medication which is too strong and it causes my skin to turn into white patches! i freaked out and staright away went back to dr chow to get it rectify, thank god my skin back to normal and with no scar. i got to know from dr chow that some doc will use very strong medication so that the prob will be cured fast but that will lead to another prob.. for me is the white patch lo :( i'll never go to other skin doc other than dr chow... btw the other doc in doc chow's clinic is very good too..he's younger and his name is dr lim. he will spend his time to explain to you if you have any questions about skin. i better stop now as i sounded like i have share in the clinic.... heheheheljamie, this dr lim is at which clinic? blurcheryl 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2008 For Dr Chow, the first visit might be abit expensive, but after tat its cheaper. If u have budget constraint, u can try to inform him maybe he will reduce abit. He is famous skin dr. But he is not arrogant. He is really good. elaineganMACLAINE 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 I've got one to intro.Dr.Gan from Gleneagles, a skin specialist of all types. He treated my bad acne and in 6 months, it's all healed and am acne free! Depending on how serious it is.But being gleneagles, charges are bit more expensive.Consultation fees is about RM80, but total bill depending on skin condition and prescribed medication. He's a very busy doc, as always, so do book him a week in advance, if you want to try him out. His face full of black/white head and lubang lubang. I think no Dr can cure him liao :(
peipei 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 It took about a month to cure his acne. He now has a slight pockmark on his right cheek cos his acne was really severe then. My bro just saw Dr. Tan yesterday to consult him on his hair loss. Bro is worried he may go bald one day. Dr. Tan said if its hereditary, there's no cure for it. Hmm..come to think of it, we dont need Dr. Tan to tell us that. If there's really a cure for baldness, then people like Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage wont be balding right? YanYan 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 Hi Joanne,I am a newbie here and I am not sure if my reply is too late for you.Have you recover from your skin problem?Where are you from?I would like to recommend to you Dr Foong from Ipoh.At first, i don't really believe it. But, after he managed to cure my cousin's bro skin allergic prob, which had been bothering my cuz since he was young. My cuz consulted many different doctors and different opinions but to no avail.Somehow, right now, my cousin is studying in States and he has no recurrence on any skin allergic prob at all.For me, i consulted Dr Foong last year as i have acne prob too. Not very serious but i just wanna get rid of it. I can really see improvement on my skin, rather than using the products from my beautician which i guess made not much changes on my skin...For those who mentioned on frackles, probably laser is the extreme option.Anyone heard of IPL (intense pulse light)? I heard from my the dr. then this option can clear those light marks like brown spots and frackles.Joanne, hope you have already recovered from your skin problem.Dr Foong has patients as far from Kelantan...(coz the other day while waiting, i was chatting with this lady who brought her daughter from Kalantan to consult Dr Foong).Just sharing...Cheers,YanYan

She's been treating me for my acnes and other skin problems, and she's very very nice and patient. Her clinic is not in KL City, but at Taipan, Subang Jaya. If you are coming from Petaling Jaya, that's OK. I think its like 10 min drive from PJ. If you are in Kuala Lumpur, maybe it's a bit of a drive though, like 30 mins. cat23 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2011 Whenever I had problems I used to go to Dato' Dr. Nathan at Assunta Hospital PJ. Someone told me that he's the 'grandfather' of all skin problems and everyone who goes to him will get healed. His son is also a dermatologist. I think they have their own skin clinic somewhere in KL but I don't remember exactly where.
