Help me to get rid of pimples, please.

Recommended Posts

i have very oily skin...i went to see a skin specialist and i was told to wash my face with Acne Aid (it's a type of medicated soap which you can find in any pharmacy and it costs about RM15 or less for a cake) and use calamine lotion on my face at night before going to sleep...there is also another lotion which is to be applied during the day...but i cant remember the name...will try to get the name for you...

this method will really dry up the pimple and your oil gland...once your face gets to dry and flaky you will have to stop it...but it really helps me a lot,..and yes sugar causes break out so does oily food

I'm using Eau Thermal Avene range for Oily and Blemish / Sensitive Skin.

Just the cleanser (blue one, soap free), Toner is the Thermal Spray, and AHA/BHA lotion for night. Day I use the Anti Shine Lotion followed by fondation which acts as sunblock.

I think I have reach a point which I don't know how to manage it. I just accept it. sigh.

Occasionally I go for facial - Darphin product.

Both are products from France, so I guess is ok to mix kua....

Btw, I read alot about this Mior Bar... where to get it and how much? Does it really work? Then, why don't us who faces pimple problem use it??

I keep my pimples under control by using product that is as natural as possible. I am using certified organic product from Australia called Mukti botanicals. Mukti has won the best manufacturer award and the ingredient they use are certified organic by Organic food chain australia and the ingredients are gentle enough to calm down your skin, No harmful ingredients to make your skin worst. Loving it. It you have problem skin, avoid harsh ingredients. I have been to demertologist in Lam hwa ee hospital in penang and the cleanser they gave me make my skin peel off like i have been under the sun.. oooucchh! way too harsh.

My daily routine is :

4 simple steps

Day and night:

Cleanse with Mukti gentle foaming cleanser

Tone with Mukti refreshing mist

Moisture with Mukti Aloe Vera Moisturizer. tumbs up!! this light moisturizer is best for oily or acne prone skin, it will not clog pores

Apply spot treatment on pimple with Mukti sebogel.

weekly care:

exfoliate every 3rd day

Mask with Mukti vitamin mineral mask two times a week to absorb all impurities. This mask with honey and pink clay is amazing. tumbs up!

erm i am new here

saw this thread wanna join too ...

Well I am using Biore Perfect Oil Control for about 1 yr 7 months now and the effects is really the best :)

My facial foam contains titanium dioxide that can help to remove oil and open pores so it's really good

It's a relief I found a great facial foam for my face as I have really sensitive skin duh...

I can barely see any pimples after that ... even my friends say so when they compare in the classroom as I'm still a high school student ...

I have been facing the problem of pimples for a couple of years. Although I have tried a few of the products available in the market but they don't seem to be as good as they can get. These things really give you a bad look and make you stand out in the crowd for no reason. Can anyone suggest me a good product to help me get better results?

Hello harmoniya, here im giving some natural tips for you!

Drink lots of water, keep your face clean, continue washing it twice daily, avoid make up products, dont use harsh cleansers stick with mild ones for sensitive skin even if you dont have sensitive skin, because these products avoid harsh chemicals, make sure you apply a good lotion onto your face to keep it healthy and moisturized so the pimples can be as healthy as possible so they can extract as soon as possible. Use a gentle exfoliator like a rough sponge after a warm shower. Splash cold water on your face after washing it to close the pores up. If you switch products it is just going to confuse your skin at this point, so even if your face washing isn't the best keep using it until your face clears up than switch. Switching now could possibly cause more pimples.

hmm... instead of just using products, i think you should consider going to the professionals to manage your acne.

there are quite a few places that you can consider... one is Skin Club by Dermagenesis. They are good. They manage to put mine under control when all the other places only aggraveted it even more...

i would have to agree with crybaby789

my gf used to have a lot of breakouts and she went to alot of different beauticians and it just got worse... i don't think works. finally she went to Dermagenesis and the treatments together with the creams the dr. prescribed helped. should give it a try...

Just a comment:

The problem with pimples is that, the more you worry about it, the more they appear.

The experts say that among the factors which contribute to the growth of pimples are stress and lack of sleep, which I've observed to be true for many cases.

Dear all,

I have been on Accutane (Acnotin-Isotretinoin) treatment for the past 6 months. I am glad that my condition is recovering smile.gif

During the past 6 months, as advised by my dermatologist, I stopped my normal cleansing/beauty routine and followed the given guidelines.

Thus, I only wash me face with water in the morning and Cetaphil at night.

I did not use any moisturizer, sunscreen, mask and toner throughout my last 6 months of treatment.

Now, as I am approaching the last month of my treatment, I am worried as I do not know what should I do after stop taking the medication.

Should I restart back the normal cleansing/beauty routine?

If I should start back the normal cleansing/beauty routine, how should the routine be? What should and shouldn't I be using and doing?

I would really appreciate any advice from you all.

For those who had previously taken this treatment and had completed it, please let me know what to do after this.

I am worried that if I did the wrong thing, the acne might come back all over again sad.gif

Thank you so much!!

Hi everybody,

Quite obvious (my nick) I am from Zeno Malaysia. Zeno has reached Malaysian market about 2 years ago. Zeno has good and bad reviews throughout the years. And that's normal. No one product can work 100% for everyone. Well due to the fact that Zeno only works on pimples, therefore any topic related to pimples I will be quite interested. hehe..

For your information, Zeno has just launched a new version called Zeno Hot Spot in the US. It cost only USD39.99 in the US, and RM199 in Malaysia. The US R&D has done a lot of studies, there are many types of treatment to treat pimples, infrared red, laser, creams, and so on, they still found out that thermal heat is the most natural way of treating pimples on our skin and effective.

Anyone has any experience on using Zeno please share with us.

Thank You.

I was on Accutane for a few months too some years ago. It is better to get your doctor's advice as to what type of cleansing routine you should stick to once your treatment is over. If I remember correctly, after my treatment, I used very gentle facial washes, I think I started with Seba Med liquid soap. The dermatologist said I should never use makeup in order not to invite a flare up, but  how la like that. So I only used loose powder, I used T.LeClerc, expensive but very good, for a while, and when I saw that my pimples never came back, I slowly started using foundation and makeup again

My pimples never came back, but that may be due to the change in climate (I moved from Malaysia to Europe). But then again, the weather where I am is also very humid, so perhaps my skin is aging :dash2: and no longer oily and clogged like it used to be.

Dear Chloe,

I used Roaccutane (actinoin-isotretinoin) before and it was past 4 years from now. My dermatologist suggested that I should use night cream Tretinoin 0.025% to control it. Meanwhile throughout the years she advised me not to use oil based cosmestic products.

So far I have some small pimples during the premenstruation period. I would apply a day cream (I didn't know what is it as the ingredient is not written there) and the pimple disappeared the next day.

I do have some side effects till now, eg dry n chapped lips, sometimes peeling of skin. After I use Vaseline petroleum jelly lip balm, the condition improved. For the peeling of skin, she changed the Tretinoin gel to cream.

If let say any flares come in, don't use facial scrub.

Right now I only control the oily skin by applying face mask 3 times per week. So far it works. :)

Oh yea btw, don't donate blood within 3 years after completing the Roaccutane yea.

Hope this help as well adding on to what Tash says :)

Dear Icy,

Thanks for your advice.

I have stopped for 2 months now and have been avoiding any oily product. So far so good.

Yes, same here. I too have some small pimples during my premenstruation period.

But, you mentioned not to donate blood within 3 years? Is this true?

Cause I noticed the instructions stated that "Blood donation by patients during and within 1 month of cessation of isotretinoin treatment to women of childbearing potential should be avoided."

So is it 1 month or 3 years? Did ur dermatologist mentioned to wait for 3 years before donating blood?

Then, I have a more important questions to ask. How about getting pregnant then? My dermatologist mentioned that we are allowed to get pregnant 1 month after completing the treatment? Is this correct? Is this what you've been advised too? Cause I am planning to get a baby soon. How long do I need to wait?

I really hope to get this clear. Really afraid of the side effect that might comes along if I get pregnant / donate blood before the waiting period is over.

Dear Chloe,

ooopss..sorry to make the false alarm here. not the dermatologist who told me 3 years but when I went for blood donation drive, one of the staffs told me (guess he's the medical assistant). And I never double check whether it's true. :dash2: silly me.

Here I apologize to you and show you a much more reliable explanation regarding the blood donation and pregnancy.

Isotretinoin

Cautions

exclude pregnancy before starting (perform pregnancy test 2–3 days before expected menstruation, start treatment on day 2 or 3 of menstrual cycle)—women must practice effective contraception at least 1 month before, during, and for at least 1 month after treatment; avoid blood donation during treatment and for at least 1 month after treatment; history of depression

This source is reliable. from British National Formulary.

So now clears your worries. And I'm so sorry that I ring a false alarm here.

Dear Icy,

Thanks for the clarification

I did read about people who waited 3 - 6 months and some waited a year before they get pregnant.

Different sources of information

If anyone have experience taking Isotretinoin and get pregnant after stopped treatment, pls let us know how long you've waited.

To be on the safe side, I will go see a gynae
