list of Female Gynea Pls!

Recommended Posts

Hi coffee,

I heard there is a female gynae in Kelana Jaya Specialist center, but forgot her name already. Are you looking for gynae or obstetrician? Since my family doctor advised against female obs.

Coffee.., is this gynae list for pregnant mommy or the normal gynae?

Since my doctor told me, for obs, it's always better to look for a male doctor, since they are more stable during critical situation, whereas female doctor, sometimes depends on their mood.

Err..., as a moody woman, I think I understand what my doctor told me, so that's why I choose a male doctor (beside, he was recommended by my family doctor, whose wife was also using his service. ;) )

Coffee, some women gynaes can also be very judgemental especially when it comes to sensitive issue like sexual history and etc. I know my mum sees a female gynae at UMMC and there is a gynae centre at TTDI with a female gynae as well...let me check for the name, k? :)

Hmm.., not sure whether you gals will mind or not. My doctor is Dr. Vigneswaren, attached to SJMC, he opens a clinic outside. My family doctor Dr. Tan, said this doctor is quite famous for his good nature and temper-less.

My previous obs was Dr. Fong Chee Kin, also attached to SJMC, but I changed becoz he is always not available, and when it's my consultation time, it's only 15 mins. I dun like that, which was why I seek other obs. :P

I just delivered in Feb via c-section. My gynae is Dr Loo @ TDMC. The operations was very good and smooth... wound was fast to heal. and I was able to walk up & down the staircase on the 4th day. The total bill was abt RM6k in total. Dr Loo is very friendly and patient, despite the long waiting hours even on weekdays.

hi coffee,

im seeing Dr. Tang Boon Nee in SJMC. She's a very nice lady.. i liked her and immediately decided she will deliver my 1st baby after my first visit to her. i always pay around RM110-130 every visit.. depends on the vitamins you subcribe.. if normal visit + scan + pramilet and calcium = RM115 like tat. Prenatal classes in SJMC = RM310. Labour charges = RM3k++ for normal birth (without complications).

Another lady doctor in SJMC who is very famous too is Dato Dr. Siti... her que is so so long... one of my frens is seeing her.. always goto wait for 4 hours to see her! (saturdays)

hi Escudo,

from my own opinion, not ALL lady doctors are like what your family doctor describes. personally I prefer a lady gynae / obs. because i find easier to talk / share my health issues with a lady doctor.. especially when it is related to my private part! I have seen men and lady G&O... thru my experiences i much prefer ladies. Even my hubby likes Dr. Tang Boon Nee alot.

I think men or lady is very depend on individual. Men G&O can be very moody too :P

Just to add on to the list of female G&O :

Dr Christina Tai Fook Min from SJMC

I just had my laparoscopy under her care. She make the effort to explain to my HB regarding my condition (emergency case) and perform another scan to guide my HB thru the whole process. Another plus point is that she always explains the details to us (my HB and I) with graphical aids since both of us are kinda blur ..hahaha... My super fussy HB is very comfortable with Dr Christina and commented that she is very stable.

Oh.. Dr Christina only does C-sec thus if her patients decided to go for natural birth, she will refer the patient to other Dr at the last trimester. According to the nurses, she stopped taking on natural birth bcos she rather earn less and have quality time with family.

Hi wenwen,

I am new here and currently 33 weeks pregnant. I am planning to change gynae from Dr Loo to Dr Tang because I would like to deliver at SJMC. Can you share your experience delivering at SJMC? Is the price of RM3k plus includes epidural? Does Dr Tang encourage natural birth? Scared those gynae who only encourage c-section. Appreciate if you could revert..many thanks in advance! :)

I would like to highly recommend Dr Loo Suat Chin at Columbia Asia Bukit Rimau. She is friendly, detailed, patient, dedicated, supportive and professional. Thank god I have her for my both pregnancy. I have just gave birth to my second son. :)

I admitted to hospital midnight as I need to induce (she advised me to admit midnight to save 1 night stay of the ward charges) She called every now and then to ask about my condition. I still remember she came to hospital at 4am during my first labour although I only dilate 2-3cm. For my second labour, I almost give up for normal delivery due to the unbearable pain. I cried and requested for c-section when I have dilate about 5cm. She kept telling me I can make it and said she is there to help me. When I dilate about 7cm, I almost collapsed when the nurses told me I still have to wait as bb head is high. Dr Loo came and put her hand into my vagina and said she will help me to adjust bb head. She is very supportive and keep telling me I can do it. Finally, I had gave birth to my baby safely. And yes, she advise us not to take epidural as well.

Me and my husband are really grateful and thankful to have her throughout my both pregnancy. She is such a wonderful doctor. Not going to see her again until my next pregnancy :p And I know I will miss her sweet smile :)
