Hi,

It has been 3 mths after my C sect. But my tummy still very big. I was mistaken by petrol station boy that I am still pregnant!!! He asked me when is my EDD. OHG...

I planned to buy waist wrip yesterday. But i was confused of which type of wrip is actually suitable and effective.

Any mummies want to share her experience?

In my hometown, usually there is an urut lady (malay) who will urut the tummy and afterward wrap with a long long cloth during confinement.

This guarantee to slim down the tummy.

Hi Wenwen.., sorry just saw this thread again.

I am currently engaging an urut lady who works as bidan in SJMC. Only tried her service once, but I can say, she is really good as she knows her stuff. And she is very kind too, as she helps to massage my baby for free when she heard my bb cried, since she said my baby masuk angin already.

Hi mhyap, I am currently on confinement and I am allowed to clean my body using sponge everyday. Somemore, after the massage (which I just had 1 hour ago), our body feel warm, and I can feel the wind sipping away (will fart quite a lot).

Her charge is RM80 per session of 1 hour, and she knows how to urut our uterus (this is the best part, as not all masseurs know how to do it).

She taught me lots of tips also and explained what she was doing, like urut our veins which were swollen due to birthing, and such. :D

Lee_yuki: According to her, after c-sec can urut, since she will avoid certain parts.

I'm going to have a c section as well, and wondering whether to buy a wrap for the tummy or not.

There's a c-section belt sold by babyloft.com and a medical supplies one by dale medical (abdominal binder)

Also wondering when the c section-ers can start the urut programme. Anybody out there know?

Actually from what I heard, the urut and wrap method works the best when you're still "fresh" from giving birth. I booked my urut lady weeks before my EDD and the lady told me she will come soon after I'm discharged from hospital. I had natural birth, so she let me have one day to rest and settle down at home after discharge from hospital. The very next day she came and started the massage and wrapping session. No doubt it was very uncomfortable to be wrapped around waist so tightly and with all the massage oil all over and WORSE, not allowed to bathe at all!! :( But for the sake of beauty, we just have to bear with it. I did, and I never regret a bit.

Many years before I got pregnant, I've been hearing ppl saying that in order to keep your waist and tummy back to its original size, MUST do the urut and wrap as soon as possible (a few days) after delivery for maximum effect. If you wait for too long, it will not be as effective anymore. I'm sorry to say but if it's already few months, don't think there's any point in hiring the urut lady anymore. Usually ppl hire them to do urut during confinement month. Might as well think of other ways to trim the tummy like doing sit ups and do cardio exercise. No pain no gain ;)

As for those waist wrap selling in the market, I've bought one before (Osim), wore a few times at home after confinement but I don't think it helped at all. Now it is a white elephant in the house, money down the drain

Just my 2 cents la :)

What I heard is C-sect can start 2 weeks after delivery. But better check with the urut lady and gynae first, they will advice you ;)

can buy the kain bengkung from any jamu shop or stall. There are 2 types - modern or bengkung jawa (the 4 meter long cloth). Modern type I bought together with the AMWAY set lepas bersalin. (About RM200 something) for 44 days of herbs plus some herbs to soak your private part if u had an episiotomy (mix with some salt for better efficacy) and some herbs that you boil and use to bathe. I find the set not too bad and helps with water retention and poo poo because i was really afraid of the pain.

I find the modern bengkung not fantastic but convenient to use ourselve because can tie in front. But, unfortunately if you tie it urself, you might make it rather loose because of the angle and strength so my bengkung keep on "bunching up". My mum shared that the best is the jawa type because it's really very very "ramping" (tight) and you will feel really good coz it will "firm" up your uterus and tummy after the urut.

I will be trying the jawa type with the second BB and then make the comparison. So, wait for me ok :)

Bengkung jawa is about RM35 but do look for those thats full cotton and not too soft (no support). The cloth shud be firm but flexible. But, at the same time wondering how to tie it by myself if got nobody to help me. My office cleaner ask me to tie one end to the grill or staircase and just turn round and round hahaha.

I will be trying the set bersalin from nona roguy this time. Also about 200 plus per set for 44-60 days. I also like their "minyak mustajab" (RM33 but if member is RM27.00) which i already used to massage my legs because I feel so tired after work each day. Feels so damn good. I wear socks after tat and go to sleep and it helps with my leg cramps. I will also use that oil during my urut session. Aiyoh... really can't wait !!!

Tats all i can share so far.

Good luck with your babies gals !!

ogosdream,

During the urut, the masseur will actually help to "push your womb" back up into its place. But the process is going to be very painful. I was screaming at the top of my lungs when she was trying to "push my uterus back in place"!

Besides that, I believe most confinemnet lady will make you drink all sorts of chinese herbs/special soups that are supposed to help your uterus shrink back to its original size. Did your confinement lady make those drinks or soups for you?
