I'm planning to travel overseas during next year Chinese New Year season. In my mind, I got Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea. I wonder during the new year season. is the tour price increase alot compare to low season? Don't expect to spend more than RM2k, any idea which one is the most worthy tour?

My Family have been to Phillipine for 2 times in a row during CNY... One year i follow... second year i did not.... During CNY cos Phillipines is not a Public Holiday so no shops are close and the rates are still low... If During CNY u go Shanghai and etc etc yes it will look nice but then most of the place will be close and also rates willl be high....

ivi,

I would suggest HK as I have celebrated CNY in HK before and it's really great. It will be winter during CNY and the weather is in the range of 10'C.

However, it's a peak season in HK during CNY, therefore the tour price is definitely higher.

don't think there is any tour offer at RM2k for most the places you mentioned above (except HK maybe?) especially for tour during CNY...

There was the snow disaster in Dec 07 - March 08, Shanghai. I think the most serious period was during the CNY if I am not mistaken. Everybody also stuck at the airport and train station. A friend of mine been to China last few year during CNY. She claimed that it's hard to go out to walk as everywhere also wet and too cold. Their tour members even get sick and flu during the trip. My HB went Taiwan during end of the year. That time the temp. is too low, he and his friends all wore few pcs of jackets and socks. ^__^ He only stayed in the apartment to see the sightseeing, too cold to walk at outside.

You can go to search for more info before u make the decision. The best temp. to go travel is between 15C - 25C. If it is too cold, we can't really go out to walk and see the sightseeing.

Just my own sharing. The final decision still up to you. ^__^

I didn't notice that the temperature during CNY would be that low..I was expected some of the destination in China would be closed for celebration. It seems that CNY isn't a best travel season to go China ,Taiwan n HK..Maybe Korea would be another option?

3 times also Seoul? Have you been to some destination which I could go for sightseeing instead of shopping? I know Myodong is the hot place,I'd listed it in my must visit place. What about those cultural and nature places?
