NEED HELP: endometriosis???

Recommended Posts

hey.... need helps....

anybody come across this endomtriosis???

i just have my check up last few weeks n the doctor found out that i got an ovarian cyst on my right ovary... after asking me lot of Q..... the doctor suspect that i have an endometriosis...cos i have period pain during my menstual especially the first n second day..... plus low back pain.... beside that got pain during bowel movement... prolong period too.... but the symptoms getting lesser after i try on the chinese medicine.... but the doctor still said that most probably i'm having endometriosis n give me 3 option to choose:

1. do a laparosope... to remove the cyst as well as check the stage of endometriosis...

2. just wait....

3. try on oral contraceptive pill n hope that the cyst will disappear... but the doctor dun really recommend this cos the doctor said my cyst not due to the hormone.... cos i did an ultrasound after my period n the cyst is still there....

so i really dunno wat to do.... i check on the internet n found out that endometriosis will cause infertility..... some more i got retroverted uterus.... really scare that very hard to conceive in the future.... n i'm getting married in another 2 months..... *sob* *sob*.... really dunno wat to do.... :(

anybody mind to share with me on this matter???

thanks thanks

hi samantha,

i also have the same problem with you, it happend about 4 years ago.

my right ovary got ovarian cyst about 3-4cm, and endometriosis 11.5cm

my dr gave me a few option,

1. laproscopy

--> i didnt want to do laproscopy, cos im afraid it would scar my ovary, and cause me to be infertile.

2. get pregnant, cos being pregnant your hormone would know how to adjust and treat the body.

--> i didnt do this too. cos that time im not married and i was also not ready to be a mother yet (im very imature :P )

3. go on Progestrone Pills for 9 months

--> i did this, and during the time i was on medication, my mood swing was horrible! and i gained alot of weight, 17KGs to be exact... but after the treatment my cyst went away and so did the endo lining...

my advise to you is to go for a second opinion, and seek out your options before doing anything drastic... it took me until now to get slim down again, cos weight gained by hormone change is really hard to get rid off...

For any women with endo who find your site, this is an amazing place - the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta centerforendo.com, also look under ''educational articles'' and a chat board http://forums.obgyn.net/endo/ENDO.0806/date.html also, the pill and other things can lead to low progesterone, which can cause migraines check out johnleemd.com

Samantha, endometriosis is VERY COMMON among women, i know of a lot of people who have it and its more prevalent than you think. Dun worry about the infetility now, you will only make yourself more stressed. For people who do their normal gynaecological check up with the doctor, it can show up in ultrasound scan and an experienced doctor will be able to tell just by looking at it. For other women, its usually diagnosed after the women complains about infertility (i.e. no children despite one year of trying). For some people, there is a lot of pain, for others, there is none. However, pain is NOT an indication of the severity of the condition.

You should get a second opinion from another doctor asap on whether to go for surgery. Aside from the surgical options, the other method of treating it (if the cyst is not too big) is by oral contraceptive pills--- i have a fren who went on that kinda treatment. Oral contraceptive will not affect your fertility and on the contrary, the combined pill has many medical benefits. But your doctor would know best how to treat it. After surgery, doctor may ask you to go on this hormone treatment:- Lucrin Depot. There will be some weight gain because of that but if its to treat the disease, then its worth it. Whether or not to go for surgery would depend on the size of the cyst.

I understand completely how you feel but it is very common and a lot of women go through it so dun be too scared, if you can....everything will be fine as endometriosis is easily treatable. Trust me!

Hi samantha,

there is also another post related to endometriosis here:

http://www.malaysiabrides.com/forum/index....mp;#entry204139

do u plan to have baby soon after your wedding? if yes, u can discuss with your doctor about this. coz having baby does reduce the symptoms of endometriosis and your condition might improve (but not a guarantee).

I had endo pain for very long.. and few years ago went to specialist to seek help. they did a laproscopy on me coz that is the most accurate way to diagnose endo. at that time, my ultrasound dont show anything.. means the endo scars are either very very small, or are quite hidden, or no cyst... so if i have a cyst then the ultrasound will show but in my case there's no cyst, just scarring which cause so much pain..

after laproscopy the doctor put me on birth control pills to regulate hormones.. i changed a few different pills coz my body is not responding to it (still got pain.. but luckily no side effect/pimples/weight gain)... then i changed doctor

i went to another specialist and he recommended low-dose danazol. started with 200mg, then reduced to 100mg... some say danazol is not so good but it has helped me tremendously.. my scarring reduced alot, and i dont have pains anymore.. since it's low dose, it's not supposed to have much side effect on me.

whateva treatment u choose, make sure u consult your doctor, get second opinion, and do your homework.. research! coz your health is in your hands... :)

my doc recommend me to get pregnant asap, do u plan to get pregnant asap after wedding too?

dont get too stressed out ya...

Hi,

I also have endometriosis Stage 4 and I got it remove. I would say if the size is not significant, then monitor and start changing your lifestyle and take chinese herbs and supplements to boost immune system. I started taking supplements after the surgery too to ensure that I do not have reoccurence issues.

Also do add exercise and work life balance into your life.

I can share with you what chinese herbs I take...................

Dear SharonSharon,

I am not sure if you have found a good doctor. My doctor did my endometriosis surgery last June and I am currently 3 months pregnant. So I am sure finding the right doctor would help. Where are you from? KL? If you are from KL, I can recommend my doctor to you.

Regards,

andrea

I'm reading this thread with great interest. I do not have endometriosis but I do have ovarian cyst. I have recently found a non-invasive method to help me get rid of the cyst. Anyone heard of g3 juice, made out of fruits from heaven (Chinese Lycium, Siberian Pineapple, and Cili fruit). I've taken 2 bottles so far and did my scan last week, doc said it has reduced in size although he didn't specifically mention the numbers. There are good testimonials surrounding this fruit juice. One of them is about a woman whom has taken 3 bottles and her tumor (cyst) reduced by 1/3 size. Then another was a tumor in the uterus was gone completely. This is only part of the benefit of g3 juice.
