If you're staying anywhere near Kota Kemuning, you would want to consider this place called Ooi & Khor Dental Surgery in Kota Kemuning. It's those shoplots beside McDee, the same row as Maybank. There are 2 dentists there - husband and wife. I went to Dr Jenny and she's really gentle that I really did not feel any pain when I went there to redo my root canal and last week, scaling. Scaling was charged at RM50.

Gotta make appointment though coz they are usually fully booked 1-2 weeks ahead. Very good business yet still professional. However, Dr Jenny will attend to walk in customers after 8pm. Then again, don't be surprised if you get 10 walk in customers in a day... still gotta wait, so it's always better to make appointment beforehand.

Business hour is long too, can accommodate working ppl :-

Mon - Sat : 9am - 10pm
Sun : 9am - 5pm

I go to Prestige Dental at Bandar Puteri. The dentist there Dr Ng (lady) is nice and I feel at home there. Went there for scaling, polishing, whitening and filling all before my PS. smile.gif

To share with MBs that I did my tooth whitenning at Prestige Dental (Puchong) for RM1200 using ZOOM2 technology.

My teeth colours were initially at A2 to B3... after the torturing treatment of nearly 2 hours. The colour whittens to A1 - B2...

The tooth were sensitive for that night and a lil bit the day after (of which i took painkillers for 2 times, so that I can sleep and to be able to smile)

After about 3 weeks, the colour stabilise to B1 - A3 (generally still whiter than the original colour). smile.gif

Anyone can recomment good dentist...no pain & reasonable price one at PJ. Dr.How is very good. But he charge quite expensive. I had few fillings (4 of them) and to get rid of my wisdom teeth.

Hi pinky^rich!

I actually went to Dr How after your recommendation. Had 5 fillings done by him and it costs me RM480 plus 1 xray (RM80 for each filling). I would say he is okay but a bit pricey though. He charged me for my lower wisdom teeth RM500 each because it needs surgery and for the upper ones cost RM150 each. Not sure if it's expensive or not. I am still considering. Anyone got better recommendation?

Oh my goodness! I didn't realise it's so expensive to see a private dentist!
Should've married a dentist.. Haha...
I had my wisdom teeth (both upper and lower) extracted at UMMC when I was studying there end of last year.
They did a good job. Recovered and eating solid food the very next day.
Stitches were the dissolvable type, so no need to go back n remove it.
My lower tooth needed minor surgery too..
All in all, LIMA RINGGIT...
R u sure u wanna spend thousands?.. =S

Usually surgical wisdom teeth done in private clinic cost around RM450-700 depends on the difficulty by looking into the x-ray and who are the one who is doing, a normal GP or a specialist. Specialist will charge more but you will be comfortable with him because he is a specialist ma!! Besides, you can request for more anaesthtic or some form of sedation (which make you drowsy). By the time the tooth is out, you couldn't remember the horrific experience you just gone through. Your're lucking you did it in UM dental fac maybe by trainnie doctor. Usually have to wait coz a long Q, less experience student is doing of course been supervised sad.gif

sherly, I'm afraid I'll have to correct you on that one. NONE of the students do the actual extraction. The actual extraction is done by the professors, all of whom are experienced and licensed practitioners. The only thing the students do is prep you for the procedure. Even then the professor ALWAYS pops in to supervise. Also the only students who will touch you are the final year students not third year or second year or baru masuk.

I had two shots of anaesthetic because the student did some test (they usually prick the gums and ask you if you feel pain or just pressure) and found that I still felt pain and they were very nice. Prior to removing my wisdom tooth, I had an X-ray done as well. It's not all that bad or horrible. If these students had no exposure whatsoever, they wouldn't be able to become dentists. Even the specialist had to start from somewhere.

The only downside are the queues. T.T

Hi
Cost of a filling is depends on various factors, the size of the cavity, which fillings material whether is a white or a silver filling, of course the white one going to cost more!! huh.gif It also depends on whether the dentist going to put any medication below the filling or any pin to support the filling. A good dentist is the one who is going to inform his customer of the cost before treatment started and to allowed his customer to choose which filling material he/she prefer after listening to the pros or cons of the material.
There are also external factors like the location of the clinic, The rental of the premise and the most important the social-income of the people living aroung there. Another thing you have to consider is the clinic environment. A 5 stars clinic is more expense than the no star clinic biggrin.gif Clinicl in PJ, Bansar KL going to charged more as compared with clinics in Puchong, Kepong or even in rural area.
'Standard ' filing in KL, Bangsar, going to charge RM100-200 where else in Puchong, Kepong aroung RM50-100
Choose the one your comfortable with, of course -- clean, tidy, nice to see clinic with good infection control, excellent sterilizing and handling their instruments. You don't want to get HIV infection from the clinic you visited don't you?
If you ask me i recommend the clinic which was recommended by sophiakhee

Hi Chloesow, I've just signed up for Invisalign treatment in KL. It costs me RM25k!!!!! Phew it's a huge sum... was thinking of doing in SG as there're more providers there, but it's quite troublesome to visit SG so often plus need to spend a lot of $$ for transp & acc. I was informed tt only 2 dentists offer Invisalign in Malaysia, in KL & JB. How is your experience with Invisalign? Can share some tips with me? smile.gif

Shell, there're many doctors providing Invisalign in SG. It is a better choice if u mind metal in your mouth and treatment period is shorter than conventional braces.

hi akine,

am interested in doing invisalign. could i have the name and address of the dentist that u r attached to? how's the payment like? wow...25k is really expensive

Hi Chrisandben,

Sorry for late reply, when i did mine, he charge me abt this price as well. Mayb he is quite pricey if compare with other dentist clinic.(i not sure how much other's dentist charge). But i still only go back to him to do my teeth. He is really pro. Every of my gf do their teeth there as well. They said the price ok, n not big different with other dentist. So i think should be ok, not every mth go dentist one ma. hehe..I think rm80 is reasonable to do filling. I had 4 fillings done by him and 1 wisdom teeth for surgery he charged me rm1k-1.2k (forgot how much i pay). Not pain at all, and i feel comfortable.

Anyone have any idea what are the standard charges to do root canal treatment, bridging and crowning in KL? I'm from Kuching but currently working in KL. So kind of undecided on whether to see dentist here or see one when go back to hometown since the price should be lower in Kuching.... unsure.gif unsure.gif If see a dentist here, I don't know whr to go and afraid it might be very pricy.. If go back, afraid the treatments might take many visits to dentist and I can't stay in hometown for many days.. sad.gif sad.gif any advice?

Hi there,

Wah, KL's dentist price is so expansive!!! I used to visit a famous dentist in Kluang (many s'poreans customers) which that place happens to my my hubby's hometown. Oni cost me Rm50 for a normal visit & RM200 plus for wisdom tooth extraction surgery.

Now I came back to KL adi & never want to go for any other dentist here. Hopefully can go back Kluang on weekdays...

i had a bad experience ...i went to see this dentist at amcorp mall..
The dentist is quite an old man but he is rather impatient. I did scaling there and it was the most unpleasant scaling i have ever had.
I have been to other dentists and scaling is not supposed to be painful...
he just kept scaling and almost didnt let me gargle if it wasnt for the phone call he answered while doing my scaling...how unprofessional...and i felt so much pain....my fren went with me also felt the same thing...he was really rough...and was just rushing so that he can go next room to service another patient...
The nurse was pleasant though...when she gimme the contact card, i threw it away once i got home..i will never go there again!!

YS TAN CLINIC.

damage : RM90 + painful mouth due to stretching by the rough doctor...

so not worth it!
