meiteoh 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2008 20minutes is a free Swiss newspaper published in the German and French speaking regions of Switzerland and just the other day, HB comes home telling me that us M'sians made the headlines. And seriously, after reading it here, I can imagine how the Swiss are just laughing about us.Avril Lavigne est trop sexy pour les MalaisiensLa chanteuse n’est pas la bienvenue en Malaisie. Christophe MettralIt basically says that Avril Lavigne is not welcomed in Malaysia because PAS thinks she's too sexy and young people will be influenced by her if she performs in KL. The PAS official was quoting saying something like how artists who are good models are only welcomed. She was supposed to perform on 29 August in KL but a letter sent to the Minister of Culture and DBKL last week (the week before 18 August) objects to it and says that "she is too sexy for us. It is not good for M'sian audiences".The article goes on to give a list of artists who had the same issue - Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Beyonce plus the Pussycat Dolls.So...PAS is more worried about an indie singer who doesn't do drugs and has no criminal record (from what I can remember - I could be wrong) than all those rapists, wife beaters and gawd knows what else (perverts and such) walking out streets...OH, lets not forget our politicians too (they are hardly model citizens). =.=
