Aircon installation price

Recommended Posts

My contractor quoted me RM500 for full concealed piping of Panasonic 1.0HP inverter type air-con. He mentioned that for inverter type air-con due to the more compressed refrigerant, R410A, it needs thicker copper piping. Above price came with standard 10ft piping. He also quoted me RM700 for full concealed piping of Panasonic 2.0HP inverter type air-con. Since the 2.0HP will be installed in the living room, thus the piping will be longer as the outdoor unit will be placed behind the house. Every feet cost RM20 after the 10ft length given. How is this price compare to current market price?

Yes, very expensive.

But I know the quotation for normal aircond installation, RM120 per unit - 1 H.P.

Checked the installation price recently.

Anyone know where to get aircond for good price in PJ area?

What about installation charges?

Can I know your location? But anyway, your price is "very expensive".

thteong,

My location is Ampang, KL. Why are you saying that it is expensive? Mine is concealed piping, means hecking the wall and plaster it back nicely + paint. Please note that it is R410A inverter air-con installation. Please help to advise what price is a better deal?

Caroline,

Are you sure the price RM120 is for concealed piping? I know for expose piping you probably can get this price. Further more, the 1.0HP you mentioning is standard air-con that uses R22 or inverter air-con that uses R410A?

as i know.. inverter air con. installation is more expensive.

when i doing research for air cond. tat ppl told me one..

:) even service(gas) also more expensive next time..

and i also think the rm120 is non concelaed piping installation..maybe aircond and compressor just back to back installation? few years ago..the price for concealed piping installation already few hundred..

Yah, what Junyan mentioned is correct, piping for inverter air con is more expensive, partly due to the special piping used. According to my conversation with one of the air con guy, he mentioned that the special piping is required (special piping purchase from manufacturer) so that the manufacturer will provide the warranty. Or else no warranty.

For me, I did the normal conceal piping (coz i dun plan to get inverter air con) for my living area, materbedroom n 2 other room. Total cost RM1.3k I was in a rush that time so did not manage to survey for the cheapest price, but I think the price should be around this range.

Installation location: PJ

I find one difficult to identify the special piping. How do we ensure that the piping used is indeed "special"? If we do not have a comparison it is very hard for us to know whether the correct piping is actually given to us.

I from Ampang KL also I am going to install one non-invertor Panasonic 1.5HP air-cond today at my wedding room. My contractor (we used to appointment him to do the air-cond services) He charged me RM180 but without concealling coz we no need it... (according to HB :P )

I dont think RM120 is enough for 1HP installation now in the market coz I asked around with the shop they all quote at least RM150...... & the normal services of the air-cond my contractor charged me is already RM120 per services

Yes invertor type air-cond is very expensive in terms of pricing, installation & services.... I asked b4 HSL the installation charges was RM300 plus :o & the services was RM200 plus per services.... all though we know is energy saver but for us only on it during bedtime we think shd be not much different so end up decided to buy the non-invertor type lo :P

wsyrinrin,

Thanks for sharing the information :) . Why are you installing a 1.5HP air-con in your wedding room? Is it a master bedroom? How big is it? Usually the air-con guy will say install 1.5HP in master bedroom, but then sometimes if your master bedroom is not really that big, 1.0HP would be enough. There is one very handy tool in the internet which you can use to calculate the BTU needed for your room area. http://www.allhvacinfo.com/hvac-calculator.asp So if your room area falls under what 1.0HP can offer then why you need to install 1.5HP. Just a recommendation for you ;)

15ft x 19ft = 285 sq ft. You will need an air-con with the capability to supply 7700BTU/h - 9100BTU/h depending on your room insulation. From what I see 1.0HP air-con is enough to maintain the cool in the room. Just for your reference though

ESH , PJ quoted me RM120 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, I only need normal piping, because compressor is just right at the back.

Anyone can recommend any shop for reasonable air cond unit? - 1 HP

I think u meant air cond ducting and to install the air cond... thats why its pricey... it costs us rm1.8k to do the air cond ducting including installation... means all the pipes concealed inside the wall... we r doing this for 7 air conds in the house...

Normal installation without doing the ducting (means ur ducting all ready) costs rm100+ like those quoted by electrical shops...

My contractor quote me Rm500 each for air cond ducting, outlet piping plus installation of the air cond. Please take note what type of material they used. the RM500 is for the Cooper instead of PE.

Mickey, the rm500 is a bit pricey in my opinion... our contractor quoted us rm200+ for copper not including installation... after include installation its rm300+...

So far, all the air-cond contractors recommended panasonic aircond...
