Hi...I am new and just got engaged.
i am just curious to know that if we set a theme of colours.
Do we put down it down on our invitation cards so that our guests can come in those colours as well?
i am thinking of champagne gold + Red + black

Hi Mun Yee,
Recently I have attended a friend's wedding and I wore all black. My mom disapproved that I wore black as she said the bride and groom's parents might not like if it is black whereas people should wear lively, bright colors to wedding dinners...Now my mom is worried that my wedding guest will be wearing black! Of course I told her that my wedding is still a long way and it is common for youngster to wear black to wedding dinners.
My point is, before setting your theme to include black, maybe you should consult both parents if they are ok with black. I know most people will say wedding belong to the said bride and groom, but my mom is also very "kan chong" about my wedding and thus it is just not a metter between me and my hubby lor...
BTW, champagne gold and red is GREAT!

Hi. My Wedding is next year November. I want my wedding theme to be in White & Red. I'm wondering if it's possible to get most of my guest to wear my theme colour?
Not sure how will it looks like. As for the deco, i also have no idea yet.
Any suggestion out there?

Mun Yee: I think if you request your guests to come in these either of the 3 colors you chose, most of them will come in black as most ppl have their LBDs. You might want to consider if you would want your venue to be in "a sea of black". Have your deco in these 3 colors, (black is really a beautiful color, classy & very modern) .
P.S. make sure your dress is not 1 of these 3 colors cos I've seen a bride wearing the same color as her deco (shocking pink) and it makes her look like part of the deco
Dovey : You might want to use champagne gold/ off white / beige with red ( like Mun Yee) instead of white as theme deco cos I personally feel, er, I don't mean to offend you but, white n red = color of ambulance .

Hi gals, I am pretty new here i guess. ;) Happy New Year to all. First of all, Congratulation to those getting married in January 2011. My fiancee have gave me the theme colour and it is aqua blue (tiffany blue). Supposely I am matching with brown but I saw some people have done it. ;) So i think of matching other colour but I try to match most of the common colour like white, silver, gold or red makes it really headache colour.
I got too many colours in my head now. I also like silver with white too...but look too funeral for some people. How abt Aqua blue with Maroon?May I know anyone try aqua blue before? Please advise. ;)

Hey chubbyangel, Congratulation to the bride-to-be.. I think you can still move on with tiffany blue and goes with light yellow lime to have bright and yet cool colour. Don't forget to mix in white to blend in the blue and yellow lime. Try to get a color chart, then you'll be able to have better picture of the overall feel. All da best!

Will vote for Champagne gold + Red +Champagne White cause It'll be elegant. Can also try Shocking pink instead of Red.
All the best girl!

Hi chubbyangel, my wedding theme is blue & white *^.^*
I think white is very wedding-gy but you have to choose another complimentary colour (make it either the main or secondary colour) to bring the event look consistant in a theme. Wedding theme can be not just about colors but maybe an overall look & feel. Exp: been to a wedding with Fairy Tale theme with lots of sparkling lights and angles elements all over *^.^* Another great one is Circus Theme with very colorful elements, clowns & ballons for children, candy cane...etc
Hope I didn't confuse you. Update us all if you have decided on your wedding theme yay!

Hi Girls. Our Shanghai Angels Live Band performed for a 'Shanghai Themed' wedding recently. Wow...the bride looked real sexy and gorgeous in her modern designed Cheongsam while the Groom looked dashing in the Tux
. Woo....!
You can consider 'Shanghai Theme' for your wedding as you get to be elegant, sexy and charming.

I anticipate white is actual marriage but you accept to accept addition adulatory colour to accompany the accident attending constant in a theme. Marriage affair can be not just about colours but maybe an all-embracing attending & feel.

Hi everyone,
I actually planned to have a turquoise and ivory theme for the dinner. Turquoise ribbon for the chairs tie-back.
But now parents are saying blue is mourning colour for chinese and ask me to change.
Is it true?
