  1. Is your account being hacked or what? I don't remember you doing anything horrible...
  2. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I started letting my baby listen to music since baby is around 5 months pregnant. What I do is I put the earphone to my belly. During the early weeks there was no obvious reactions but towards the 3rd trimester the reaction to the music is really obvious. After I put the earphone to my belly I can feel baby movement quite immediately. Don't know if it's my own imagination. However I only let bb listen to classical music. Anyway don't know if there is any obvious effect... ha ha..
  3. nicole, I went for checkup at KKIA and I asked the nurse if govt hospital allow husband to go into labour room, she said yes.. because she herself delivered at govt hospital and her husband accompanied her. But seems like some ppl still say certain govt hospitals do not allow... so not sure if each hospital have their own policy. Better to just ask the gynae at the govt hospital. Not sure if you can walk in to sg. buloh hospital for prenatal checkup. Nowadays you can only go to KKIA and not govt hospital, unless you are referred to govt hospital from KKIA because of complications (i.e. high risk pregnancy). Just call up Sg. Buloh hospital and ask.. I also call up selayang hospital last time to enquire and they told me I cannot go there for checkup unless I opt for FPP. Sg. Buloh hospital is quite new so they should be very equipped. But bear in mind you cannot expect the same service as private hospital, I find that is the only difference. Otherwise govt hospital is just as good as private hospital.
  4. I think there was another thread in this forum where someone shared their experience delivering at selayang hospital. But not sure if she was under FPP scheme or not. But overall I've heard of good comments for Selayang Hospital. But I've also read from another forum (if I remember correctly) that even with FPP sometimes you cannot get a private room because it is very full. So better check with you doc. Why you want to know specifically for FPP c-sec? You have already decided u want c-sec? Have you discussed with your doctor? I'm not sure if govt hospital will allow you to choose c-sec even though you are under FPP scheme? But maybe they do allow lah.. I don't know
  5. Hi All, I plan to buy Ameda Dual Lactaline Breastpump with Avent feeding bottles. However I read somewhere that we need an adaptor to be able to pump direct into the Avent Feeding Bottles from the Breastpump. Did any of you buy the Avent Breast Pump Conversion Kit for this purpose? Appreciate your advice! Thanks.
  6. I'm in my 32nd week and I practiced what you just described. KKIA was my main checkup since I felt it is more detailed compared to private. However since I still opt to deliver at private so I also need to go private for checkup, but I only went around once in 2 months. But from 8 month onwards I go to private according to gynae's instruction, which is once in every 2 weeks. My gynae at private hospital was ok that I did not go so regularly, but I'm not sure if all private gynae are like that. I heard that some private gynae may not like it, so better to test your private gynae first.. miss your appointment for 1 month and see if he/she say anything. Ha ha. Maybe you can just say you are outstation so cannot go so frequently loh.
  7. It is possible govt hospital don't allow monthly checkup for mothers with normal pregnancy. The practice is you must go to Klinik Kesihatan for your normal checkup, if you are categorized as high risk case then Klinik Kesihatan will refer you to Govt Hospital. Unless of course, you opt for the FPP scheme at govt hospital, then u can go there for your normal checkup. This was my experience when I tried to go direct to Selayang Hospital for my monthly checkup, they did not accept me and said I should go to Klinik Kesihatan first.
  8. I always think it's better in any situation to talk it out... if I'm in your position, I will understand your concern as well - will he be addicted to it even after baby is born? Even though after talking to hubby he may not stop masturbating, but at least let him know your concern and worries. Actually, do you have your needs as well? Since you have an active sex life before you got pregnant, I would imagine you still have your sexual needs even when you are pregnant. If both of you have your needs but don't feel comfortable ML, then why not masturbate or simulate each other.... Agree with other forum members that there's no doubt your hubby still loves you and is attracted to you, have faith in yourself and don't overworry, baby will feel mummy's stress too!
  9. Besides having a breast pump on standby to relieve engorgement, I believe the other thing you may need to consider is to prepare for any unforseen circumstances (i.e. emergency c-sec or preterm delivery) that may prevent you having direct latch on. Also, like what others suggested, ask if your hospital provide rental services. I've already asked mine and they don't so I have more or less decided to have one breast pump on standby before delivery. The question now is whether manual/electronic and single/double! A lot of people will suggest to buy a single manual breast pump first before investing on a more expensive (i.e. double electronic) when you have decided to breast feed for long term, as sometimes things do not turn out as planned even though you were very determined to BF and you won't want your expensive breast pump to become a white elephant! Anyways, there's always a market for pre-loved items so worse come to worse, you can always sell if you really didn't use it.
  10. I learnt from the forum that it is recommended to buy breast pump nearer to delivery (perhaps 1 months earlier or maybe 2 if you worry of early delivery) because the warranty starts from the date of purchase and not from the date of delivery. However if you really have not bought it yet when and you happened to have an early delivery, you can always buy online and delivery is fairly fast. The recommended website I got from this forum is enjoybreastfeed (I'm in no way associated with this website). While you wait for your breast pump you could perhaps try to hand express first (if you really have difficulty with latching on). Or perhaps you can ask if your hospital provides breast pump rental. I have asked my hospital and unfortunately they do provide that. Hope that helps.. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and plan to buy breast pump by 34th week. I was very tempted to buy earlier on during merdeka sale because I saw some good deals, but then decided against it as I felt the warranty is more important than getting a cheaper deal.
  11. I'm due early Dec 2011. I interviewed 4-5 confinement ladies and only one said the ang pao is up to me to decide. The rest said the minimum ang pao they expected is RM200.
  12. Hi mommies, Just to share with you all on a promotion Babyland @ SS2 is having for Avent Electric Sterilizer, currently selling for RM229 including one 125ml PP feeding bottle. This is the cheapest deal so far I have come across in the Klang Valley. Not sure how long is the promotion. More details here: http://babylandmalaysia.com/node/1254 Normal price at Jusco, Mom's Care, etc is RM289.00 and normally no discount even during the merdeka sale.
  13. Hi, Please email me the details as as well, thanks. s_hung_siew@hotmail.com
  14. Now reading the twilight saga by Stephanie Meyer. I'm a sucker for love stories centered star-crossed lovers. I'm so obsessed with the series! Now reading the 3rd book in the series. Anyone reading it here?
  15. I have been using the following credit cards and my comments for each are: 1) Maybank - using it for 3 years and so far ok. I'm quite surprised there are a lot of compliants about service because I find their service to be ok. Their customer service hotline is 24 hours. One thing good about Maybank credit card is their reward points never expire. They have lots of promotion as well, comparable to HSBC and Citibank. I never receive calls from Maybank telesales trying to sell me stuff. Points can be converted to Enrich. E-banking is user friendly and i always use maybank2u to pay my credit card bills. But their e-banking does not tell u what is your current credit limit used. I have used my Maybank credit card over the internet and so far no problem. 2) HSBC - using it for 1 year and so far it is also ok. Service hotline is also 24 hours and i think their reward points expire in 3 years. Lots of promotion, you get discounts at G2000, Padini, Leonard Drake, etc. Their telesales will call you to sell their stuff but just tell them you don't need it and they won't push. E-banking feels very secure because they force u to use their secure token which you must collect from their branch or you can't use it. E-banking is quite user friendly as well. HB has used it over the internet and so far also no problem. 3) Citibank - using it for 1.5 years and so far ok also. Service hotline is 24 hours, not sure about their reward points. Lots of promotion as well. Their telesales will also call you to sell their stuff but they also won't push. E-banking is not bad and they tell you what is your current credit limit. Have used it over the internet and also no problem. 4) Alliance Bank - only use it for IKEA purchases. No telesales and never use e-banking so can't comment. The thing about HSBC and Citibank is you don't have to inform them you are travelling overseas to use their cards overseas. But for local credit cards you must inform them b4 hand, otherwise you can't use it. I won't complain because I think it's a good security feature. I have used my maybank credit card in the UK and China and there is NO problem with it. But local banks credit card are more stingy with credit limit compared to overseas bank credit card. For me, I don't worry about whether the bank I have a credit with has any branch near me because I always pay my credit card bills over the internet using maybank2u.
