Mable 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 actually kindergarten is more to the academic side and montessori emphasized on play and learn plus critical thinking.kindergarten usually there will be a peer pressure where who gets the highest marks or so. for montessori, they are trained to explore things on themselves and reason it out... that means they have more hands-on activities more than learning from books.the best thing is to go to that particular school and find out their syllabus so that u understands more how is the systems there.I am a kindergarten teacher and i studied child psychology and montessori. personally, i think not entirely the montessori system is applicable in our country bcuz in primary sch, they are more into academic where else in montessori they are more relaxed... but sure they will enjoy the activities there...
