Dear princesschinadoll.

Congratulations on your marriage. It is almost impossible to find a perfect bridal house without any flaws. Some people have their own expectations. They will even complain about the coffee being too sweet or the sales girl has one big and one small eyes. The most you can do is to minimize the risk of bad experience.

We signed up with Red Sense few year ago. Doesn't really have any real bad experience, maybe because we are not expecting much. One of the biggest issues we have is the returning of the gown. It has some small stains I guess is wine. And they assume is "spot light burn" and will hold our RM 1000 deposit until they can fix it. Feeling frustrated, and we decided to bring it back home and with some water and soap, the stain came off. Another thing we notice is that, when they realize that you are not going to add more photos, suddenly no more 1st class treatment. The sales person who used to be friendly to us suddenly hardly spoke to us anymore. Maybe we are too sensitive. Oh, and also, the photographer that they set for us is a bit fierce in my opinion. Or maybe we are just too dumb to pose. Again, maybe we are too sensitive. Again about the issue of the gowns, just make sure you keep it clean and try not ruin it.

There is no 100% guarantee. Most of the bad reviews are caused by miss communications or misunderstanding. Most important is to take pre cautions. When visiting a bridal house, speak to them, ask questions. If you do sign up, ask for a black and white in writing to avoid misunderstanding. Can try asking to throw in a family portrait. No harm trying if your are paying for the premium package. The worst is they will say no. But above all, enjoy the process of planning your wedding and try not to stress too much. Is not worth it. In the end, is just the money bit. If your are not happy with the photos, you still have your ROM and actual wedding day photos to enjoy. Those photos are more meaningful in my opinion.

Cheers and we wish you a blessed and wonderful marriage a head.

Hi Flamephotography,

Thank you for your feedback. The one thing that i am afraid is to sign up with one bridal shop and after signing up, they won't be as nice to as they are when they want to seal the deal.

I guess there will never be 100% perfect bridal house that will provide us what we want.

I am a very simple person but my friends who recently got married said poses is very important in pre-wedding but aparently it is also a very hard thing to fight for.

I guess we cannot have everything we want at the end of the day we should just not spend a lot in pre-wedding photos because i am really afraid of all the hidden cost that will come and hunt us in the future.

But thank you so much for your review:

I have narrowed down my selection to either Touch Gallery or Moco which can accomodate to our budget which is RM3000.

Dear princesschinadoll.

That is just human nature I guess. Especially if you are dealing with just their sales person. Things will change if you deal with the owner himself I guess. Which I think is quite difficult with this kind of organization. But who knows, things might not be so bad as you thought it will be.

Oh yes, they can provide you what ever you want. The matter is how much. And its normally the case of everything is "can" before signing and "oh sorry we can't" after signing. In my past experience, I just found out that other bridal house will throw in a Family Portrait photo shooting if you sign up with their pre wedding package. But unfortunately I found out a bit too late after signing up. And just asking to try luck, the only thing they said is, Oh, you should ask us before signing up. In my mind I was thinking, you could have told me that before we sign up. But that is just one bridal house. Not sure about the others so cannot judge that all are bad.

About poses, normally their photographer will assist on the posing. Whether on how they assist you is another story. Gentle voice with lots of patience or harsh and frustrated voice. Some didn't even give you any chance to have you own posses. All directed by them. Some will let you do your stuff and will only interfere when you need help. I guess photographer are humans too. They have mood swing too. And also they are just doing their job. Again, unless you can find a photographer which is the owner himself. Things might be a lot of difference. Or, you can try to save some nice posses that you like on your phone. Use it as a reference or easier to communicate with the photographer, but only if he is interested to do so.

About the spending, it all really depends on both of you. If you can afford the best, why not. But if you think you rather spend the budget on something more meaningful like a nice honeymoon vacation, then is your choice to spend it your way. Most people I know just looked at their pre wedding photos on the day they receive it and after the wedding, it would be tuck away under the bed until God knows. But hey, if you have the budget, by all means, go for the best. There is no right or wrong. Plenty of chances. You can also have a post wedding photography in future with your little ones which I think is more meaningful.

I can't comment on the two bridal house that you have narrowed down. No experience with them. But I guess you can just spent more time there to get to know the people and the business nature.

Cheers and wish everything will be smooth as silk for your wedding planning.

Dear princesschinadoll.

Prices can go from hundreds, to thousands, to tens of thousand. From the prices, you can roughly judge the confidence of the photographer. But doesn't mean if you pay sky price for a photographer that they will be 100% perfect. Your mentioned budget is almost sufficient for a decent photographer. Just need to search for the best deal from the respective photographer.

Cheers and happy searching and planning ya.
