  1. Just got a video from Childbirth till 12-week-old baby girl http://yehui38.multiply.com/video/item/3/2...tter_than_1.m4v video for our first http://yehui38.multiply.com/video/item/7
  2. charges almost the same. RM3k ++ inclusive of epidural, 2 night stay and baby's bill. Single room all full.
  3. my wife just delivered our 2nd baby last month. Before delivery, I ask Dr Raja again, she said ok but ask other personnel involved when taking photos because some might not wanna be involved. So I happily brought the camera to labour room. But when anaesthetist going to inject epidural, I took out camera, he told me hospital got new policy since my first baby. Since he didn't like the idea, so I just kept the camera. He was nice and polite when told me that and I totally understand. Later on only he explained that, because of my video in youtube, the management was not too happy about that. So no camera allow in labour room. If I've known about the new policy, I would have sent my wife to other hospital. It is a precious moment and memory. Nobody can reproduce that exact moment again. Sad
  4. I've no idea they have such policy. Probably not third person. Because only husband and mother allowed into labour room. Possible to prevent some people taking advantage. I did ask permission from the gynae and anasthetist. Both of them said ok. Then only I proceed. I didn't check with the management. The camera was strapping to my body the whole day and I was walking around. I hope it was not me that prompt them to create this policy.
  5. We took stemlife, because the legal adviser is someone we know. So instead of interview sales person from both, just let his company do. It is very competitive, so the package will not go far. Stem cell is still a relatively new area. After 50 years since Watson & crick suggested structure for DNA, only the human genome is decoded. It will take may be another 50 years for Gene therapy to be on full potential. The benefit is very limitted now. But the progress is exponential. It is limitted by moral, religion and gov. Nobody is right about the debate, but if suffering can be prevented, why not. At least option be given to those who wanted. A lot of research are going on, the progress will be unimaginable. May be the time that the stem cell is beyond our life span. At least we leave behind something that can be used, in case of trouble time. We might not be able to use it altogether, but if we really need it, it's there. That's the main reason I subscribe.
  6. Thanks all for the well wishes and compliments. The port at the neck is a microfilter for epidural administration. It was not a single bolus dose but constant flow. The catheter was connected to a line and tap from her back all the way to neck. The one on her hand was IV cathether. The fluid is used to expand her blood volume in anticipation of blood loss, and the other bottle is Glucose + Oxytocin. Gluocose to provide energy and oxytocin is for contraction. The rate in which oxytocin flow influence the contraction interval. In older time it used to be something oral for mother to chew but not that effective. p/s: A lot of people told me that can get erectile dysfunction if see wife give birth. Some said will get poor. I purposely took all the photos and videos to show them. Will come out with a few more just to prove them wrong. I was supposed to ask the gynae to let me cut the cord, but I totally forgot about that, panick... Will do that next time.
  7. It's been 4 weeks already since the childbirth. I made some video out the photos and movies I took. Just to share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4h2ixAhnwY This is the picture of the cake at Fullmoon party
  8. Milk powder price is ok already. Because just found a contact that I can get at distributor price. Lucky.
  9. Yes, you can request the nurse to bring you the baby for breast feeding. Actually as a consumer, we have the right to know everything. It is the Dr's job to explain to us all possible treatment choices and pros and cons for each of them. The nurse there very nice. Everytime we have visitor, we walked to nursery and knocked on the window to ask them to open the blind, but they said can just press the bell button to call nurse to bring baby. Also the nurse will bring the baby to mummy several times a day for breast feeding and bonding. First time mother normally no milk yet. Some start to flow 3-4 days later and some even 1 week postnatal. Even if have milk, some will not have milk letdown because of obstructed milk ducts and canals. So lots of massaging, warm compression and squeezing, like in the case of my wife, very very painful. THat;s why it is encourage to do it before baby born or before engorged. But doing massaging during pregnancy might lead to contraction. So even if you insist the nurse to let you breast feeding, if there is no milk, the baby will be very frustrated. But still do because it will promote bonding. THe sucking mechanism itself stimilate milk production and milk letdown. We just came back from columbia asia actually. Check up for baby and mummy at 1-week-old. So sakit hati to see them took blood from baby. Luckily no jaundice. Given 2 can of milk powder, similar advance protection. After see the gynae, she also gave another 2 cans. So today we spend about RM120-130, on mother and baby's bill, but 4 cans of milk already about that. So free milk. My boy finish 1 can of 400g in 4 days. I thought it is a cheaper formula milk, I got a shock when I bought the 900g one, RM63!!! I'm going to be so broke
  10. Yup, there are only 2 gynae, Dr Ng and Dr Raja (malay Lady). Of course the breast milk is recommended. Even the milk formula can, it is recommended breast milk is priority. Dr Raja gives good advice. She gave advice to try natural birth. She told us not to fix our mind on what delivery method first, natural will take it's course. Try natural birth first, if foetal distress, only try others. In our case, vacumn assisted delivery is the case. I don't want my wife to suffer throughout the contraction, so I put my feet down on epidural. It's true that there are such and such potential side effect, but to me, the benefit of her outweight the boy. It is lucky that she got the epidural because she even scream during dental scaling. She was able to sleep, read magazine, sms, play psp while contraction going on. Could feel the womb contracted hard like stone but she said feel like gas in the tummy. Columbia asia provided an admission kit that has tooth brush, tooth paste, comb, shampoo, towel...Basic toiletries. But I think most girl will bring own stuff right. Just bring a set of baby cloth for discharge changes, cloth for mummy like sarong, and if got cord blood set, that's important. The top priority is to bring money, handphone and admission form. Gynae will give a piece of admission form so that you can hand over to the recep upon entering emergency. I got to put deposit on RM1500. I was quite panic because she got quite abit of bleeding. I thought the "Show" is like in the TV a lot of clear fluid but i was wrong. I thought she got placenta separation and she said baby not moving. I have to grab everything and dumb into car, still forgot to bring reading material. In labour room, there were 2 nurses. One younger nurse and one midwife. When change shift, also a pair, one younger one and one supervisor. Occasionally, another supervisor will drop by to check and motivate you. Every nice of them. Gynae will come every 2-3 hours to check for cervical dilatation. No point for the dr to stay there to wait. All in, everything is quite good. The only thing I wish they can improve is the post op care, especially important for first time mother. A lot of my friend delivered in Gov hospital. The hospital sent nurse to the house to check on baby and mother's wound. Episiotomy site is very delicate and easily contaminated. So have to take care properly. Somemore got to take laxative, that increase the amount of bacteria and chances of contamination. If no nurse to check on the wound, sometimes it is quite a handful
  11. Seems like a lot of fans of Dr Ng. My wife delivered 1 week ago by Dr Raja. We've been seeing Dr Raja since beginning. She gave us very good impression. The average charges for each visit is about RM75-100, inclusivce of scanning and urine test. Every 4 weeks initially, then every 2 weeks and then weekly. My comment, the hospital is relatively new. Not many patient. Not so congested. Even the nursery is a bit quite for a hospital. 3 babies there last week and my wife was the only mother there in labour room out of four. I was surprised because all this while I thought the mother will be straining in own room until ready to delivere only wheel to labour room. But we're place in the labour room once we checked in. The nurse hooked up all the instrument and preparing all the necessary thing. Nurses normally comprise of a younger nurse and a very experience nurse, or midwife, or supervisor. The senior one,or sister, is normally very experience. Not to say the young nurse not experience. She knows what she is doing but the experienced midwife and supervisor gave very detail explanation on everything, comforting the mother, give reassurance. She was holding and hugging the mother during epidural. Very grateful to her. The labour room is very well equipped. Not everything state of the art but nice and steady. The bed is detachable at the end to accommodate the gynae. There are attachment for the stirrup and bandpiece for the mother to hole during "pushing". The vacumn unit, suction cup, clamp, forceps...are all within the the reach of the gynae. Oxygen, Nitrous oxide, suction for infant are all wall mounted at above the bed. Fluid is administed by the infusion set. Calculated to the required dose and assited my machine. Mother pulse and blood pressure is monitored by the machine every half and hour. There is also another machine to monitor foetal heart rate(audible) and uterine contraction. Baby bed was just next to mother's bed and heater is on top. I was very impressed with the set up of the labour room. The anaesthetist, Dr Loy has my highest respect. He was very good. When he came in, he introduced himself. Talk to us, mostly leisure and unrelated stuff. Joking. Then he started explaining to us the procedure of epidural step by step. After the injection site is prep, he started his work. Although already explained the procedure, he still patiently inform us the next thing he's going to do. Very pro. Our charges when discharged were about RM3200, inclussive of usage of labour room for 12 hours, vacumn assisted delivery, epidural, baby's bill, single bed. The financial assistants are very helpful too. Send us the notice to top up, send us the invoice, send us the refund and resit. We don't have to move anywhere, they will come to the room. The only complain I have is the food. Kind of bad. THe food at the canteen, expensive and taste horrible. Here's some pictures I took. Labour room. We're allowed to use up to 12 hours. Nurse and midwife setting up muliple machines Heater and infant bed Machine to monitor blood pressure, pulse, SpO2... Infusion set for fluid and oxytocin to adjust the frequency of contraction Monitor foetal Heart rate and contraction Infusion set for epidural Wall mounted oxygen, nitrous oxide, suction... Injection of local anaesthetic to numb the area before inserting epidural needle. Local anaesthetic is the painful one. Once the effect kicked in, no pain after that The moment baby is out, he was place on mummy, even with umbilical cord attached. That moment, priceless. Worth every penny I pay for the camera Finally it's over. What a relieve Crying, loud and clear Anxious mommy looking at baby crying Exhausted, resting for another hour in labour room before discharged and sent to the room Labour room is once become peaceful Back to the room Appetire was good the next day, bright and alert Back at home Day 4, can blink and waive already. Neck and limbs already very strong

Training provided for staff is an issue for many places. Not only foreigner, also part time job student. Some of them are really nuisance. Chit chating, at each other, answering phone, sms... Disciplinary problem and lack of training. For the food, it takes the kitchen about 10-15 minutes to heat up the food. So 10-15 minutes before the schedule starting time, the chef will order the kitchen to heat up all the food. In a lot of wedding dinner, delay is inevitable. I 've been to dinner that's stated 7 and dinner started at 9. 2 hours delay. The food came out was cold, even the shark fin soup and some of the dishes, 2-3 dishes serve together. For ours, we delayed 10 minutes only, and we ask the kitchen to delay too. Average interval between 2 meals is about 15 minutes. So got to time it well. Ask the kitchen to pause the serving of food during activity like montage, cutting cake, yam sing, speech, if not eveyone will be eating. Communication with the manager, chef, sales person is very important.

In my opinion, if the guests and relatives are sincere to attend the wedding, I don't think they want the traveling and accomodation to be paid for. I don't want mine to be paid for and add burden to the couple already crazy budget. But during our wedding, my mom insist me to pay for the accomodation in Mines Resort. My mom took her own saving to do that, wanted to look nice. So I have to pay her back. Quite a big fortune there. Have to use credit cards to cover.

The deco was done by the hotel. Some by our planners. She only did a bit of decoration. Not like what she promised. She charged us RM3k for flower but I don't see a lot of flower around. She claimed a lot of deco done by her, in fact a lot of of stuff are provided by the hotel. Talk to jarod or person in charge that is corresponding with you. What is provided and what will be done. If possible, ask them to recommend florist to decorate the hall as well. That way, they can work better if they have work together before. Get the table arrangement fast and asap. I got the table arrangement only a few hours before dinner. Quite a big chaos.

I think they charged me RM220 per double room per night. 12 room and get 1 free I think. Not sure if the price went up. We never use dry ice effect. My wife don't want the entry to be so grand. So we stick to simple walk in, with canon in D. I wanted the Jerry C rock version but she 120% against it.

HI. The bags was bought by our wedding planner. I think you can probably get it in supermarket or gift shop. The love notes my wife got it in one of the gift shop in 1utama. Hang Li Po 's biggest problem is the 4 gigantic pillars. Block view of the slide show. I tried the screen, end up getting worse. Half the guest unable to see the slide show. Best thing is get another screen and projector or get someone from AV to give you a few flat screen TVs, if budget permitted.
  17. I'm shock to read this topic. All this while I thought women are generally lower in sex drive, as in my newly wed wife. We've been together for 9 years. She is very cool. I normally get once a month, that's corresponding to her hormanol spike. If I'm lucky I get a few more time in a month. I got to try every morning to disturb her. Most of the time she said tired, no mood, sleepy, don't disturb me. Sigh... so have to go toilet. Luckily so far no block toilet and sewage problem. Always go down on her but she refuse too many times because she said tire if more than 2 O and leg will cramp. She refuse to do bj, and I never force her. My best time is during her early pregnancy when we got to ML every morning. Must be her hormone remain high during early that time. So I'm very shock to read this topic and the posts here. That shows I've much to learn. I play games too, PS, PC, Wii, comics, RC helicopter... I think tired and stress are just excuses for guy because guy's brain is make mostly of the alphabet S. I work until very late, lots of work stress. Even after running 5km, I'd not refuse invitation from my wife, never.

    The Mines Beach Resort

Palace Beach & Spa is new name for Mines Beach Resort. The favour provided by the hotel is either fruit cake or fortune cookie. We took fruit cake, not amazing. The favours are made by my wife and me. Our wedding facour advice us to put rose petal but I over ruled her. I suggested M&M because it is very colourful, sweet and nice. She gave thousand and one reason that it will melt, blah blah blah. So we have to make ourself. We bought quite a lot of M&M, both nuts and milk M&M. Different sizes and colour. My wife also bought 2 bottles containing 100 pieces of love notes each. Very romantic phrases in the love notes. So we add one piece of love note into each packet. Very interesting and nice. Our guess love it so much that they all take it our and compare. The favour is so hot until many were stolen. Some of the guess were very upset about it because the favours were there, when turn around for photo session, all gone. A few tables worth of favour gone. From reliable information, some kids did it. Now you see, now you don't
  19. My wife only change address in the chip because that was the fastest way. If need to change the address printed on the card, it will take some times. So we only change the address in the chip, very fast.

They actually provide the bridal suite for the wedding dinner night. But we requested the night before because my wife family from Ipoh. So they stay overnight there, make up there, chut mun there. You need to talk to the person in charge to see if the room is booked. But there is one problem, you need to check out and vacant the room by 12-1pm. So you all have to finish packing before the groom arrive, and the groom has to wait for you to check out. We had 12 rooms there during the wedding, so we just dump what ever in the bridal suite to other rooms. We have the option of taking the bridal suite for another night but we didn't because not cheap. If you intended to stay there or book room for your guess, make sure there is no event (especially racing event in Sepang) clash with you wedding date as the rooms can be taken up. They said they do first come first serve, can't guarantee the availability of room even if booking.

Some people standing outside the bridal suite at the corridor, games, torturing... Some people standing at balcony. Waiting for tea ceremony. Tea ceremony in the room. Behind the door is the bedroom

Hi. The bridal suite is actually kind of small. But we managed to squeeze in about 50 pax, I think. The wife was in there with her family before we came. Plus my escort, many many people and very very congested. During tea ceremony, people took turn to come in. Luckily the suite is at the corner, so there are 2 balcony where more people can stand there. Some standing outside the suite. Our suite is first floor, so the beach is just down there, easier for people to move around. Pictures of bridal suite. One side you see the bedroom, the others the tv area. That pretty much all. Plus a bit of space at door.
