yehui 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Just finished my wedding reception in Palace Beach & Spa, in Hang Li Po Ballroom. Generally, quite nice. I must apologize for my previous remarks because I was mislead by our planner. After clarify with PBS, everything was settled. In fact they give me their full support. My reception was a small one. Hang Li Po, which is not too big is just nice for me, 20 tables. The ambient is very nice and comfortable. A lot of my guest really enjoyed the food. Food improved tremendously as compared to food tasting. According the PBS, the price for has been revised for next year. I also agree that the price for the package we had was quite reasonable as compare to other hotel. We only have a few bad things to complaine. Hotel is a bit isolated. Some of the guests got lost. The Hang Li Po ball room has 4 big pillar and only a small screen (8x8). Slide show, some of the guest had difficulty viewing it. I was planning to have another two 42" LCD TV but couldn't get any due to short noticed. The hotel rooms are a bid old but they are upgrading, so it's not an issue. Bridal suite a bit small. Overall, we have a lot of happy guest.

There are complains about fish not that cook and prawn too salty, but minority. Could be not use to the cheese in the prawn. Generally, we have a lot of happy guest. Happy guest means we are happy. ll2008ll 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Hi,I'm planning to have my wedding reception at The Mines, indoor type too. The latest package is starting from 888++. Not sure is the price consider reasonable compared to other hotels? Anyone has tried out their chinese food recently? Their sales person has shown us both Parameswara and Hang Li Po ballroom last weekend, personally I prefer the Parameswara ballroom as it doesn't have any pillars and the reception area is quite big. Any comments is highly appreciated.Thanks. :)

However, the maximum table they can accomodate is 16 tables @ 12 pax per table and also no reserved table will be granted. Whereas Hang Li Po ballroom can hold 20 tables @ 10 pax per tables. It still depands on how many tables you plan to hold.Regards.
yehui 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Hi. The bridal suite is actually kind of small. But we managed to squeeze in about 50 pax, I think. The wife was in there with her family before we came. Plus my escort, many many people and very very congested. During tea ceremony, people took turn to come in. Luckily the suite is at the corner, so there are 2 balcony where more people can stand there. Some standing outside the suite. Our suite is first floor, so the beach is just down there, easier for people to move around. Pictures of bridal suite. One side you see the bedroom, the others the tv area. That pretty much all. Plus a bit of space at door.
yehui 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Here are some pictures of the AD to give an idea of the bridal suite.Pictures in bed room. Dressing table next to bed onlyThere was a sliding door separating bedroom and living room. Some people standing outside the bridal suite at the corridor, games, torturing... Some people standing at balcony. Waiting for tea ceremony. Tea ceremony in the room. Behind the door is the bedroom
Windypooh 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 OIC.. Really thanks for the pics... So they provide u the bridal suite in the morning or was already staying there since the night before
yehui 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 OIC.. Really thanks for the pics... So they provide u the bridal suite in the morning or was already staying there since the night beforeThey actually provide the bridal suite for the wedding dinner night. But we requested the night before because my wife family from Ipoh. So they stay overnight there, make up there, chut mun there. You need to talk to the person in charge to see if the room is booked. But there is one problem, you need to check out and vacant the room by 12-1pm. So you all have to finish packing before the groom arrive, and the groom has to wait for you to check out. We had 12 rooms there during the wedding, so we just dump what ever in the bridal suite to other rooms. We have the option of taking the bridal suite for another night but we didn't because not cheap. If you intended to stay there or book room for your guess, make sure there is no event (especially racing event in Sepang) clash with you wedding date as the rooms can be taken up. They said they do first come first serve, can't guarantee the availability of room even if booking.
ZunZhine 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Hi yehui,Your AD venue looks nice. And is the M&M favours part of the package or its a DIY favours? I think the packaging is lovely, theoganza pouch with lining, how delicate :)Btw, you mentioned your venue (in pg 1) is Palace Beach & Spa? and is it in the Mines? Because I always thought Palace beach and Spa is a standalone hotel? last year or so my company went for a meeting in a hotel near mines, called ... can't exactly remember, think something that sounds like Palace beach and Spa, and the landscape look like the one you showed in the photo.so is it a different hotel from Mines Resort? or Palace Beach and spa is within mines? We tried the chinese food then, quite nice...sorry.. i just wanna confirm. hehe. Correct me if I am wrong :) thanks.
yehui 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Palace Beach & Spa is new name for Mines Beach Resort. The favour provided by the hotel is either fruit cake or fortune cookie. We took fruit cake, not amazing. The favours are made by my wife and me. Our wedding facour advice us to put rose petal but I over ruled her. I suggested M&M because it is very colourful, sweet and nice. She gave thousand and one reason that it will melt, blah blah blah. So we have to make ourself. We bought quite a lot of M&M, both nuts and milk M&M. Different sizes and colour. My wife also bought 2 bottles containing 100 pieces of love notes each. Very romantic phrases in the love notes. So we add one piece of love note into each packet. Very interesting and nice. Our guess love it so much that they all take it our and compare. The favour is so hot until many were stolen. Some of the guess were very upset about it because the favours were there, when turn around for photo session, all gone. A few tables worth of favour gone. From reliable information, some kids did it. Now you see, now you don't

yehui 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2008 HI. The bags was bought by our wedding planner. I think you can probably get it in supermarket or gift shop. The love notes my wife got it in one of the gift shop in 1utama. Hang Li Po 's biggest problem is the 4 gigantic pillars. Block view of the slide show. I tried the screen, end up getting worse. Half the guest unable to see the slide show. Best thing is get another screen and projector or get someone from AV to give you a few flat screen TVs, if budget permitted. yehui 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 I think they charged me RM220 per double room per night. 12 room and get 1 free I think. Not sure if the price went up. We never use dry ice effect. My wife don't want the entry to be so grand. So we stick to simple walk in, with canon in D. I wanted the Jerry C rock version but she 120% against it.
